What is the Ismael Magazine?

By the grace of Allah Ta'ala, Waqifeen-e-Nau are now spread across the globe, many of whom are studying in their respective fields while others have already fulfilled their pledge of dedicating their lives for the Jama’at. There are many who are Missionaries, practising Doctors, Television producers, Architects, Graphic designers, Engineers, Accountants and much more.

Ismael is an international magazine, which was launched in 2012 by Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih the fifthaba specifically for the Waqifeen-e-Nau around the world. At this auspicious occasion, addressing the Waqifeen-e-Nau Huzoor-e-Anwaraba wrote:

“The magazine has been named as “ISMAEL”, which reminds us of the sacrifices made by Hazrat Ismaelas and by Hazrat Hajiraas who spent their lives in a desolate and barren place and instituted exceptional standards of sacrifices for the sake of religion. Likewise, it is expected of every Waqf to uphold the covenant of Waqf (dedication) made by their parents even before their birth, who have in turn themselves reaffirmed the same.”

Waqifeen-e-Nau can contribute by sending articles regarding their respective fields of studies. This magazine is published on a quarterly basis as a platform for the Waqifeen-e-Nau to get in touch and express what they have always wanted to. To subscribe to this magazine, you can contact your National Waqf-e-Nau Secretary. You can also read the magazine online at: www.waqfenauintl.org/resources/ismael

Remember, this magazine is for the Waqifeen-e-Nau, prepared by the Waqifeen-eNau. Everyone is welcome to send their articles, contributions and comments. Ismael magazine is the central magazine for Waqifeen-e-Nau from around the globe.

The Holy Quran

O ye who believe! fear Allah as He should be feared; and let not death overtake you except when you are in a state of submission. And hold fast, all together, by the rope of Allah and be not divided; and remember the favour of Allah which He bestowed upon you when you were enemies and He united your hearts in love, so that by His grace you became as brothers; and you were on the brink of a pit of fire and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah explain to you His commandments that you may be guided.

The Holy Qur'an 3:103-104

Hazrat Hudhaifara narrated that he asked the Holy ProphetSA whether there would be evil after this good just as there was evil before it, and when he was told that there would he asked wherein protection lay and was told that it lay in the sword. He asked if any would be spared after the use of the sword and he replied,“Yes, there will be an amirate with specks in its eye and an illusory truce.” He asked what would come next and he replied, “Then people who summon men to error will arise; and if God has in the earth a Caliph who flays your back and takes your property, obey him; otherwise die holding on to the stump of a tree.”

Mishkat al-Masabih 5396

The Promised Messiahas writes:

“So dear friends! since it is the Sunnatullah (Practice, Way, Law, of God), from time immemorial, that God Almighty shows two Manifestations so that the two false joys of the opponents be put to an end, it is not possible now that God should relinquish His Sunnah of old. So do not grieve over what I have said to you; nor should your hearts be distressed. For it is essential for you to witness the second Manifestation also, and its Coming is better for you because it is everlasting the continuity of which will not end till the Day of Judgment. And that second Manifestation cannot come unless I depart. But when I depart, God will send that second Manifestation for you which shall always stay with you just as promised by God in Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya. And this promise is not for my person.Rather the promise is with reference to you, as God [addressing me] says: I shall make this Jama‘at who are your followers, prevail over others till the Day of Judgment.”

Pearls of Wisdom

It is a blessing of Allah the Almighty upon us that He has enabled us to accept the Promised Messiahas, through whom Allah the Almighty had promised the revival of Islam. In accordance with the promises of Allah the Almighty and the prophecies of the Holy Prophetsa, the Promised Messiahas was sent by Allah the Almighty in subservience to the Holy Prophetsa in order to rejuvenate Islam. Furthermore, in accordance with these very promises of Allah the Almighty and these very prophecies of the Holy Prophetsa, the institution of Khilafat was established in his Jamaat. Hence, in order to manifest the fulfilment of the promises of

Allah the Almighty and the prophecies of the Holy Prophetsa, every year we commemorate Khilafat Day on 27th May, wherever Jamaate-Ahmadiyya is established. On 26th May, the Promised Messiahas passed away and on 27th May, the Jamaat, in accordance with divine promises, elected Hazrat Maulana Hakim Noor-ud-Dinra as Khalifatul Masih I and took an oath and pledged initiation at his hands to carry on the mission of the Promised Messiahas.

Following the demise of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Ira, the Jamaat gathered at the hands of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIra. Despite some internal hostilities and all forms of unfavourable circumstances, we witnessed scenes of the help and succour of Allah the Almighty. His Khilafat continued for approximately 52 years, during which we saw scenes of blessings in leaps and bounds.

Following the demise of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIra, the era of the Third Khalifa commenced and during this era, we witnessed the progress of the Jamaat. The opponents made great efforts to try and efface the Jamaat. However, despite this, we only find signs of progress in history.

Following this, when Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh passed away, Allah the Almighty

once again manifested His power and the era of the Fourth Khalifa commenced, during which the opponents once again tried their level best to efface the Jamaat. However, they met with failure at every turn and due to this opposition, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IVrh was forced to migrate from Pakistan. He established the Jamaat’s headquarters in England and the world witnessed how the progress of the Jamaat continued to propel. Those who wanted to stop the progress of the Jamaat became restless seeing its progress.

After the demise of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV rh, Allah the Almighty manifested the fulfilment of His promise once again as the Fifth Khalifa was elected. Despite my countless shortcomings, God Almighty granted me extraordinary support and succour, and the Jamaat has continued to progress further. Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya was established in dozens of more countries, and the Nizam-e-Jamaat [administrative structure] was further established in dozens of countries and in hundreds of cities and regions, Allah the Almighty guided people by demonstrating His help and succour for Khilafat and instilled the passion in the hearts of people to form a bond with Khilafat and thus provided the means of establishing jamaats of devoted servants. And Allah the Almighty continues to show such signs.

The wondrous signs of people’s attachment to Khilafat and the success of the Jamaat were indeed bound to occur because this was a promise vouchsafed by Allah the Almighty and was then prophesied by the Holy Prophetsa. Thus, neither does Allah the Almighty forget His promises, nor does He break them or, even in the slightest, fail to fulfil the prophecies of His most beloved Prophet, Hazrat Muhammadsa.

Official Urdu Transcript published in the Daily Al Fazl International, 14 June 2024, pp. 2-7. Translated by The Review of Religions.

On Sunday evening, 27 April, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, may Allah be his Helper, presided over the UK’s Waqifeen-e-Nau Ijtema 2025. The gathering convened at Baitul Futuh Mosque Complex in London, with Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa addressing the participants via livestream from Islamabad, UK.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa conveyed “Assalamu alaikum,” and then invited Ehsan Ahmad Sahib to recite a portion of the Holy Quran (Surah an-Nur, verses 55-57). Adeel Tayyab Sahib and Fuad Alam Sahib provided the Urdu and English translations of these Quranic verses, respectively. Abdul-Hai Sarmad Sahib presented an Urdu poem authored by the Promised Messiahas, followed by its English translation by Dawood Khan Sahib.

Huzooraa then invited Dr Anas Rana Sahib, Secretary Waqf-e-Nau UK, to present the ijtema report. He expressed that the waqifeen were divided into age-based groups, which embarked on their respective activities. The sessions in the ijtema covered topics like the Superiority of Islam, The Essence of True Khilafat, and The Life of a Waqif-e-Zindagi. The total number of male waqifeen-e-nau over the age of seven is 3490. The total attendance of this year’s Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema was 1615, i.e., 46 per cent of the total tajneed, and the total attendance including guests was 2078.

Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa then took to the podium and delivered his address. After reciting tashahhud, ta‘awwuz, and Surah al-Fatihah, Huzooraa said:

“Today, with the grace of Allah, you are attending the National Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema, and I hope and pray that various programmes prove of benefit to you all.”

Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa said that the number of waqifeen-e-nau is in thousands, but this number will only be of benefit if all of them fulfill their responsibilities and the needs of the Jamaat. Some of the waqifeen-e-nau join the Jamia to become missionaries and a few qualify in those professions required by the Jamaat, i.e., doctors, teachers, etc.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masihaa said:

“Nonetheless, most of the waqifeen-e-nau comprise young men who have completed their secular education, and are now employed or doing their own private business. Such waqfeen should ask themselves what benefit they are providing the Jamaat.” Huzooraa said that if they truly desire to fulfil their waqf, they must understand the demands of their pledge.

Huzooraa said:

“In simple terms, your pledge requires you to sincerely serve the Jamaat in whatever way or capacity is needed. It requires that even if you are working externally, you should ensure that alongside your worldly employment, you dedicate ample time and effort to fulfilling the needs of the Jamaat and your own spiritual development.”

Regarding dedicating one’s life in the way of Allah the Almighty, the Promised Messiahas said:

“I consider it an obligation to advise my Community and convey this message to them, and each person is free to heed or ignore it, that if any of you desire salvation and a pure and everlasting existence, you ought to devote your life for the sake of Allah.

“Let every one of you strive and anxiously endeavour to reach the stage and rank where you can say that your life, your death, your sacrifices, your prayers are for Allah alone, and like the Prophet Abrahamas, may your soul proclaim

‘I have submitted to the Lord of the worlds.’

“Until an individual is immersed utterly in God and does not sacrifice their life in God’s way, they cannot be granted a new existence. So, all of you who associate yourselves with me should recognise that I consider the dedication of my life for the sake of Allah to be the fundamental purpose of my existence.

“Accordingly, all of you ought to look deep within your souls and see if you prefer this action of mine for yourselves and hold dear dedication and devotion of your lives in the way of God.”

Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa highlighted that the above words are for all Ahmadis, but they “apply specially to you as members of the waqf-e-nau scheme.”

Huzooraa advised that if one is obedient to Allah the Almighty, only then will the pledge of their waqf be fulfilled in the best

“Idol worship is not limited to obvious acts, such as worshipping a tree or a stone. It is not limited to the followers of those religions or beliefs who worship the sun, the moon or the stars, nor is it limited to those who revere certain human beings to such an extent that they become their idols.

“In reality, every single thing that proves an obstacle in the path of Allah or takes precedence over Him is an idol.”

Huzooraa advised that for a waqif-e-zindagi, nothing should become an impediment in the worship of God, spiritual development or pursuit of religious knowledge. Worldly desires must never reach such levels that they become idols.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masihaa again presented the example of Hazrat Ibrahimas. He attained the elevated status because he was ready to sacrifice everything without hesitation or any conditions. He was ready to sacrifice his son, but Allah intervened and saved him from unimaginable pain and sorrow. On another occasion, God Almighty saved him from the fire of his opponents.

Huzooraa said:

“Every waqf-e-nau must therefore seek to become the beloved of Allah, as I have said, whether you are working outside the Jamaat or serving full-time within it, does not matter. Each of you should be ready for every sacrifice your faith requires of you. You must be ready to tolerate any pain or hardship that may come your way for the sake of God Almighty.”

Huzooraa emphasised that merely carrying the title of waqf-e-nau is of no benefit. There is no benefit to being a waqif-e-nau if they do not raise their moral standards, recite the Holy Quran or offer five daily prayers. As a waqif-e-nau, one should be a role model for others. Otherwise, it is a mere deception.

The Promised Messiahas says that after performing one or two good deeds, some people think they have done enough to gain the love of God. But in actuality, complete obedience and steadfastness are required, as was demonstrated by the companions of the Holy Prophetsa. Huzooraa highlighted that for this reason, he presented their qualities and sacrifices in his Friday sermons.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masihaa said:

“So if, as you leave this ijtema, you pledge to fulfil your duties in a better way but then forget all I have said by the time you reach home, there is no benefit of you being a waqif-e-nau, neither to the Jamaat nor to you personally. Above all, Allah has no interest in such so-called waqifeen-e-zindagi. Most of you have reached an age of maturity, so every day, you should hold yourselves to account and assess as to what extent you have fulfilled the demands of your waqf.”

Towards the end, Hazrat Khalifatul Masihaa said: “May Allah enable all of you to inculcate the true spirit required of a waqif-e-nau and fulfil that purpose for which you have dedicated your lives and for which you have gathered today to attend this ijtema.

“May all of you as waqifeen-e-nau play an outstanding role in conveying the message of Islam and Ahmadiyyat to every corner of the world. Amin.”

After concluding his address, Huzooraa led everyone in silent prayer.

Khilafat–e-Ahmadiyya: The Foundation for Everlasting Peace

There have been many periods throughout history where there was a general peace and calm in the world, and an absence of strife and warfare. For example, for 200 years, the Roman Empire provided regional stability to Europe, now known as Pax Romana (Roman Peace), or from the Napoleonic Wars all the way to the First World War itself, the British Empire effectively became a global hegemon, ushering in a period of global stability, known as Pax Britannica (British Peace). The issue with looking back at these times is that they are too archaic to be applied with a modern lens, in a modern world. The only viable option for a lasting peace lies with a solution that should also be lasting.

When the Holy Prophetsa foretold of what was to dawn upon the Muslim Ummah, he provided a brief sketch of how the leaders of Islam would pave its way. It is stated:

“Prophethood shall remain among you as long as Allah wills. He will bring about its end and follow it with Khilafat on the precepts of prophethood for as long as He wills and then bring about its end. Kingship shall then follow, to remain as long as Allah wills and then come to an end. There shall then be monarchical despotism which shall remain as long as Allah wills and come to an end upon His decree. There will then emerge Khilafat on the precepts of prophethood.” The Holy Prophetsa said no more.”1

If one casts a glance at the Khilafat that followed the Holy Prophetsa, a model vision of tranquillity can be seen. After the passing of the Holy Prophetsa, although many ignorant Bedouin tribes apostatised, by and large the Muslims rallied around their new leader Hazrat Abu Bakrra, and the early Muslim community began to lay the foundations of a functioning society.

In another instance, Hazrat Umarra encountered an elderly lady struggling to make ends meet upon his usual patrols of Medina, and brought relief to her himself.

Thus we see that for societal change to be revolutionary, those who wield power walk in unison with their subjects. Against this backdrop, the Khilafat that emerged on the precepts of the prophethood of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadianas makes it clear that no other solution exists for world peace.

In 1992, Serbian militias unleashed a wave of fury on Bosnian Muslims. The situation was dire, with approximately 6000 casualties in the first year alone. Appalling atrocities were being perpetrated against the Muslims as concentration camps reemerged in Europe for the first time since the Holocaust.4

As the atrocities continued to mount, it was the actions of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya that brought the plight of the Bosniaks to the forefront. Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IVrh would dedicate his Friday Sermons towards urging Ahmadis worldwide to open their hearts and donate for the plight of their beleaguered Muslim brothers and sisters in the Balkans. Huzoorrh would show Bosnian refugees great kindness, embodying his profound love for humanity. Under his guidance, members of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya would go on humanitarian missions straight to the warzone, and provide relief to the destitute. These forays would become the foundational missions of what came to be known as ‘Humanity First’.6

The general misconception of a period of peace being brought about at the end of the Cold War, has been shattered over the past decade. Alongside the rise of xenophobia and hate, old rivalries between major powers are slowly being exposed. This January, the symbolic Doomsday Clock was set to 89 seconds to midnight – the closest it has ever been set to midnight.7 The world is being pushed on the precipice of unspeakable destruction.

Even before this current state of affairs, our beloved Huzooraa wrote letters to world leaders, warning them of the consequences of their actions, or lack thereof. Throughout his Khilafat, Huzooraa has travelled to numerous seats of government throughout the world, highlighting the responsibilities of those who wield power to act in the interests of humanity as a unit.

The sheer determination of our Khulafa to convey the message of Islam and their desire to see every Ahmadi rise up to see the banner of Islam Ahmadiyya unfurled on the Western horizon continues to reverberate

Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya

The Guiding Light for Global Peace

In an era with so much uncertainty, injustice and warfare, the world is in dire need of an anchor to ground this ship of humanity to establish peace. That anchor, that the world so desperately needs, is Khilafat, and the only rightly guided Khilafat in this era is Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya.

Throughout, the timeline of history, we have seen countless instances in which the Khulafa-e-Ahmadiyyat have warned the world about the disastrous results of their actions, if they were to not rectify their ways. Unfortunately, in many instances, the world did not pay heed and had to bear the consequences, which could have so easily been averted, if only they were to have listened to the elect of God.

In this article, I would like to cite a few examples out of many, in which the Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa guided the world to establish peace in the world, and how either by following the guidance peace can be established, or by not paying heed to this the world will suffer from its consequences.

An essential part of establishing peace in society is upholding justice. Peace is impossible if there is injustice, as a natural result unrest and disorder will become widespread. Whilst, addressing the Dutch Parliament in 2015, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa stated:

Addressing the national parliament of New Zealand in 2013, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa warns about the possible outcome of the United Nations, just as the League of Nations crumbled leading to World War II:

“After the Second World War, in an effort to establish long-lasting peace in the world and to prevent future wars, nations joined together to form an organisation, which they called the United Nations.

However, it seems that just as the League of Nations miserably failed in its objectives, the status and respect of the United Nations continues to fall by the day. If the requirements of justice are not fulfilled, then no matter how many organisations are formed for the sake of peace, their efforts will prove fruitless.

I have just mentioned the failure of the League of Nations. The institution was formed after the First World War, with the sole objective of safeguarding world peace; however, it could not stop the onset of the Second World War, which as I have already said caused so much devastation and loss.”3

On another occasion, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa fearlessly addressing the European Parliament in Brussels mentioning the unjust veto powers held by certain countries and its harmful consequences stated:

“Further, only if those nations who have veto power at the United Nations realise they will be held to account for their actions, can justice be truly established. In fact, I will go one step further and say that the right of veto power can never allow or facilitate the

establishment of peace, because clearly not all countries are at an equal level. This is a point I also made earlier this year when I addressed leading politicians and policy makers of the United States, at Capitol Hill. If we look at the voting history of the United Nations we find that the veto power has not always been used to help those who are being oppressed or who are acting in the right way. In fact, we have seen that the veto power has, on certain occasions, been misused to help and assist in cruelty, rather than to prevent it. This is not something that is hidden or unknown; many commentators openly write or speak about this.”4

To establish peace requires leaders to have the resolve and courage to speak up and defend the rights of those who have been oppressed and are the victims of injustice. It is evident through the conduct and speeches delivered by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa in parliaments across the world that Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya is the only solution to the issues facing the world and only by following the guidance of Khalifatul Masih can peace be established and injustice be eradicated.

cThere is no Peace without

Khilafat

Dear readers! Amongst the prophecies found in previous scriptures about the latter days, we would find that in Isaiah, there is mention of a ‘Prince of Peace’. 1 Just like many other prophecies, this too has been fulfilled multiple times through multiple personalities. First and foremost, through our beloved Master, the Holy Prophetsa then through his faithful servant, the Promised Messiahas, and in today’s day and age in the shape of Khilafat Ahmadiyya.

When we look at the current world situation, we see that there is a state of fear and unrest. We are living in a time about which the Promised Messiahas has stated that:

“O Europe, you are not safe and O Asia, you too, are not immune. And O dwellers of Islands, no false gods shall come to your rescue. I see cities fall and settlements laid waste. The One and the Only God kept silent for long. Heinous deeds were done before His eyes and He said nothing. But now He shall reveal His face in majesty and awe. Let him who has ears hear that the time is not far. I have done my best to bring all under the protection of God, but it was destined that what was written should come to pass. Truly do I say, that the turn of this land, too, is approaching fast. The

times of Noah shall reappear before your eyes and your own eyes will be witnesses to the calamity that overtook the cities of Lot. But God is slow in His wrath. Repent that you may be shown mercy! He who does not fear Him is dead, not alive.” 2

However, this state of unrest was bound to be prevalent in society in order to fulfil the Qur’anic promise in which Allah the Almighty states regarding Khilafat:

He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear3

By the Grace of Allah the Almighty, we are benefiting from the blessings of Khilafat in this day and age which is championing peace through all possible means. However in order to fully analyse the teachings of our Khulafa in terms of peace, we must turn to the source and see what the Promised Messiahas has taught in this regard. The Promised Messiahas states:

plays this part, we believe that the Mahdi has come to create the conditions of peace in this world, we believe in equality of human beings in the rule of law, and we are against all types of oppression.” Then, upon being asked how he plans to conduct this mission in Europe, he replied, “We try to win the hearts!”

He told the world that although there are prophecies which show Allah’s wrath and anger, there is still hope for peace. He said, “let us not forget that this prophecy, like all prophecies, is a warning and its fulfilment can be delayed or even averted provided man turns to his Lord, repents and mends his ways. He can yet avert Divine wrath if he stops worshipping the false deities of wealth, power and prestige, establishes a genuine relationship with his Lord, refrains from all transgression, does his duty to God and man, and learns to work for true human welfare.”7

Then the famous slogan of “Love for All, Hatred for None” which is unanimously praised and celebrated by all those who hear it, came to light through his blessed mouth in 1980.

After this, despite suffering extreme cases of persecution, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih the fourthrh showed no less exertion in his efforts for peace.

In a lecture delivered at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre Huzooraa gave a powerful address upon the future prospects for peace. He said:

“I firmly believe that discrimination and any effort to divide mankind on any plane may yield short-lived dividends for some, but in the long run the consequences are bound to be evil for all concerned. In this contemporary scenario, Islam has a very positive message and an effective role to play. Islam de-

nounces racialism and class hatred in the strongest terms.”8

We now turn to the blessed era of Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih the fifthaa, who, for almost 22 years has been advocating for peace and stands as a beacon of peace in a world often overshadowed by division and conflict. With unwavering resolve, he has championed dialogue over discord, love over hatred, and justice over oppression. Through historic addresses at parliaments, conferences, and global platforms, he has fearlessly called upon world leaders to abandon the pursuit of power and embrace the path of compassion and equity. His relentless efforts to promote interfaith harmony, humanitarian aid, and the true teachings of Islam—rooted in peace—serve as a guiding light for a world desperate for unity. One does not know where to begin in mentioning his efforts for this endeavour. Knowing that justice can never be done in this regard, this humble one will try to mention but a few of these for the readers to benefit from.

I think a good place to start and one of the greatest endeavours in this regard, has been following the practise of the Holy Prophetsa in sending letters to Kings and World Leaders. Including letters to the Presidents of Iran, America, Russia, the Prime Ministers of Israel, Canada, UK, Monarchs of UK and Saudi Arabia just to name a few.

Then, we see regular Peace Symposiums taking place in various countries of the world open to ministers, diplomats and journalists, addressing them and warning them of the dangerous direction the world is going towards. Not only is there a longing for people to come and hear the

words of the Khalifa, there is also a longing in Huzoor being invited to address parliaments and unions.

Seeing this passion for peace, it was natural for people of such positions to want to benefit from the valuable advice of Khilafat Ahmadiyya. We see that ministers, diplomats and journalists seek the valuable time of our beloved Huzoor every so often to seek his precious advice on various matters.

As was mentioned before, justice to these efforts can never be observed in just one article. These were but a few works of the Princes of Peace i.e. the Khulafa of Ahmadiyyat. May Allah bless Hazrat Amirul Momineen and always be his Helper. May He grant our Beloved Huzoor a long and healthy life, Ameen!

Ask a Murrabi

Azhar Goraya Sahib

Serving in Puerto Rico

• As a Waqif-e-Nau, why is it important to serve within the Jama’at and how can we instill this habit from a young age?

The purpose of the Waqf-e-Nau scheme is for parents to dedicate the lives of their unborn children and then train them in such a way that when they come of age, they realize the importance of serving Islam and dedicate their lives to this cause. Waqifeen-e-Nau should realize that they have been born for a grand purpose and eagerly serve the Jama’at in whatever capacity they are able to. They will see immense blessings in doing so.

From a young age, parents and elders should explain these concepts to their children, connect them to the mosque, take them for Jama’at functions and programs and find opportunities for them to serve the Jama’at from a young age.

• What inspired you to become a Murrabi?

I was born as a Waqif-e-Nau and was raised within the Jama’at. When I got older, my parents moved the family to Peace Village in Canada so we could be closer to the mosque. In high school, I read many English books of the Promised Messiahas,

Khulafa and other scholars of the Jama’at. My involvement with the Jama’at, my personal study, and the prayers of my parents and elders were all important factors in determining my decision to go to Jamia and to become a Murrabi.

• Name three things that you experienced in your time studying in Jamia that changed you as a person.

Learning the translation of the Holy Qur’an was the most transformative experience I had, followed by learning Urdu to the degree where I was able to understand the works of the Promised Messiahas and also the Friday sermons of Khalifatul Masih. Besides the benefits of learning the languages, my time in Jamia allowed me to dedicate myself to prayers and study, which deepened my relationship with Allah.

• What advice would you give to Waqifeen-e-Nau who want to join Jamia Ahmadiyya and how can they prepare themselves?

I would advise all those who would like to join Jamia to pray deeply and go to Jamia with full determination. They should be ready to make all sacrifices for the sake of Islam and overcome all difficulties in this path. The best preparation is sincere prayers, but they can also try and educate themselves in the basics of Arabic and Urdu and reading Jama’at literature.

Mubariz Ahmedi Sahib

MTA International

Assalamo Alaikum. My name is Mubariz Ahmad Ahmedi. I’m 36 years old. I have been blessed to have been a Waqif-e-Zindagi for six and a half years, serving in Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, playing my small part in spreading the message of Ahmadiyyat to the four corners of the earth.

Can you please tell us a bit about what you have studied and how you have been serving within the Jama’at in various capacities?

I studied Biology, Chemistry & Maths at A Level before studying Medical Genetics at university. After completing my BSc, I changed direction and completed an MSc in Computing & Information Systems leading me into a career in IT. Throughout my studies however, I served in Khuddamul Ahmadiyya as local Qaid for 3 years and then in my last year of university as Regional Qaid in Hertfordshire region – not necessarily what I envisioned for an already stressful year!

You are a Waqf-e-Zindagi serving in MTA, how did you come to the decision that you want to devote your life for the Jama’at?

As a Waqif-e-Nau, I always had in mind to devote myself to the Jama’at – it was just a question of when. I initially was looking to get into research (hence my genetics degree), but after changing path towards computer science (with the permission from Huzooraa), I then got a job at Sky as a Software Developer. Throughout my time here, I always had the desire to offer my services to the Jama’at but Huzooraa continued to advise me to keep working and gaining experience. Whilst working, I had the opportunity to start coming to Baitul Futuh for Jummah prayers to listen to and read Jummah namaz behind my beloved Huzooraa. In a letter to Huzooraa in which I requested prayers, I also mentioned my enjoyment in attending the Friday prayers. Furthermore, I requested for prayer that I would be able to find a job that enables me to attend the Friday Sermon every week. A few months later, I received a call from MTA who were looking for Waqifeen-e-Zindagi (life dev-

otees) to serve in MTA and after approval from Huzooraa, Alhamdolillah this wish of mine was fulfilled.

What are some of your day to day tasks in MTA and how is the environment at your workplace?

My main role is ‘Media Manager’ so I oversee every programme that plays on MTA. I have to ensure that all the programmes are received from various studios, are thoroughly checked by the relevant departments and then ultimately delivered to Transmission to play out on MTA’s eight channels. However, we all dabble in lots of roles so I’ve also had my fair share of filming behind the camera, production work (setting up filming locations, LED walls etc.), video editing and presenting. Having previously worked in a corporate environment, working in Baitul Futuh obviously has its differences, but working alongside like-minded colleagues with regards to spirituality, love for Khilafat, etc. : there’s nothing like it!

Is

there anyone who specifically inspired you?

There’s only one answer – beloved Huzoor Aqdasaa. No matter what tasks are assigned to us, what hours we are required to work, all we have to do is look at Beloved Huzooraa who works from the morning into the late, late evening. I have even witnessed messages coming to office bearer’s from the Private Secretary’s Office past 11pm relaying messages from Huzooraa asking questions relating to certain tasks. That can only inspire us to work harder and to sacrifice more for Khilafat to alleviate his burden Insha’Allah.

One of the most watched programmes on MTA news is ‘This

I have been very fortunate that I have been able to be behind the camera filming Huzooraa on the odd occasions be it during Jalsa Salana, Virtual Mulaqats or other events. However, physical closeness is just one aspect of creating that bond with beloved Huzooraa. I have found great comfort, guidance and solace when writing to Huzooraa on a regular basis. There were phases when I did not and it can sometimes seem daunting to begin writing letters because where do you start? You have so many things you want to cover and sometimes that can make you apprehensive to write even the first letter. But my advice is just do it. If you have to, quickly summarise the last few major events in your life, do it as a reintroduction to Huzooraa again. Then you can write very simple letters every fortnight or so where you can literally focus on one thing. Once you get over that initial hurdle, you will find great relief and comfort even when you have just submitted the letter – let alone the feeling when you get a reply!

ity. Do not see anything as beneath you – in fact we should lower ourselves so that every possible chance we have to serve and sacrifice, we endeavour to be the first ones to respond.

How do you see yourself serving the Jama’at in the future?

Wherever Khalifatul Masih (May Allah be his Helper) wishes for me to serve. I am fully resigned to Allah’s will and Huzoor’saa instructions – whatever they may be Insha’Allah. Our duty is to offer ourselves to the Khalifa and to the Jama’at. In my first Mulaqat after my Waqf was approved, I reminded Huzoor Aqdasaa that I am now serving as a Waqfe Zindagi in MTA and Huzoor replied ‘Aur khidmat karo’ [excel in service]. This shows that we should not settle with what we are doing – always strive to serve more, help more and in any capac-

With the immense blessings of Allah the Almighty and the special grace of our Beloved Huzooraa, the National Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema 2025 was successfully held at the Nasir Mosque, Gothenburg, Sweden, on February 15, 2025.

This year’s Ijtema held profound significance as, under Huzooraa direct instruction, his esteemed representative, Respected Luqman Ahmad Kishwar sahib, Incharge Waqf-e-Nau Central, graced the event with his presence. His visit provided a unique opportunity for the Waqfe Nau members, their families, and the wider Jamaat members to directly benefit from the guidance

of Markaz and strengthen their connection with Khilafat. Alongside the Ijtema, the visit was extended to the four major Jamaats of Sweden, where Incharge sahib addressed local members and emphasized the importance of the love for Khilafat and the responsibilities of Waqf-e-Nau members and their parents.

The theme of the Ijtema this year was “Understanding and combating the trials of Dajjal”. All the workshops, speeches and activities revolved around the theme to make an overall impact. The structure was formed to ensure that all the different age groups of Waqifeen-e-Nau and Waqifaat-e-Nau first get aware of the various trials of dajjal in this era; then they understand the gravity of the impact of getting affected by dajjal and finally realising the only way to be protected is through the divine Khilafat e Ahmadiyya.

The core objectives of the Ijtema were:

1. Educational and Moral Training through an innovative pattern of knowledge delivery, which included workshops, interactive sessions, and treasure hunts based on the basic knowledge about Islam and Ahmadiyyat.

2. Personal Interaction with Huzoor’s Representative: The most significant aspect of the event was enabling Waqifeen-e-Nau and their parents to directly benefit from his guidance.

The National Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema 2025 was a truly transformative experience. The presence of his esteemed representative elevated the event to a historic milestone for Waqifeen in Sweden. The overall attendance of the Ijtema was 329, Alhamdulillah.

This year the Luleå jamaat was given an exceptional permission to gather everyone in their local mission house to remotely join the opening and closing ceremonies. Rest of the day they conducted the program according to the National Ijtema’s pattern.

Along with all the preparations of the Ijtema, a special effort was made to collaborate with the local Sadran-e-Jamaat and their local Secretaries of Waqf-e-Nau to ensure that maximum members and their parents attend the Ijtema.

The Ijtema received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, particularly on:

• The blessings of having Huzoor’saa representative Respected Luqman Kishwar Sahib.

• The interactive and engaging format of academic and moral training.

Many Waqifeen-e-Nau left the event with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to their Waqf.

The National Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema 2025 was a truly transformative experience. The presence of his esteemed representative elevated the event to a historic milestone for Waqifeen-e-Nau in Sweden.

I would humbly like to express my gratitude to our beloved Huzoor-e-Anwaraa for his continued prayers, guidance, and love. May Allah enable all Waqifeen-e-Nau and their parents to fulfill their sacred pledge with sincerity and devotion, Ameen.

2025 Waqf-e-Nau Career Expo Summary Report

Report by Mirza Harris Ahmad, National Secretary, Waqf-e-Nau USA

By the grace of Allah and the prayers of Huzoor-e-Anwaraa, the USA Waqf-e-Nau department successfully held the third annual Waqf-e-Nau Career Expo on April 19th and 20th, 2025. This two-day event was hosted at Masroor Mosque in South Virginia Jama’at for girls and Mubarak Mosque in North Virginia Jama’at for boys.

This program aimed to introduce young minds to careers that Huzooraa had recommended Waqifeen-e-Nau to pursue and highlight how one may serve the Jama’at and humanity through those professions as full-time life devotees. Initially, the target audience was Waqifeen-e-Nau, ages 12 to 26. However, given the interest from parents and non-Waqifeen-e-Nau youth after last year’s successful Expo, all USA Jama’at members were invited to attend.

This year’s expo was of great significance

as Hazrat Khalifatul Masihaa had graciously approved respected Musharaf Ahmed Sahib from the Central Waqf-e-Nau Department UK as a representative to join us in person.

The Expo spanned two days and, like last year, was live-streamed via an interactive website to encourage participation from members joining remotely. On Saturday, the program began with breakfast, followed by an opening session and Expo career sessions. Attendees participated in congregational Zuhr & Asr prayers, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and explored exhibitions and booths featuring various organizations and sponsors. After indulging in tasty snacks, more career sessions took place.

A special session with Musharaf Ahmed Sahib was also held. The second day started with breakfast, a focused session of soft skills and emotional intelligence, and a closing session presided over by Musharaf Ahmed Sahib. The closing remarks were shared by National Waqf-e-Nau Secretary, Mirza Harris Ahmad, and a review of the expo by Assistant Secretary Waqf-e-Nau, Zeeshan Ahmad. Musharaf Ahmed Sahib reminded Waqifeen-e-Nau that the ultimate goal of being a Waqf-e-Nau is to fulfill their pledge and offer their services to Jama’at as a full-time Waqf-e-Zindagi by

sharing various quotes of Hazrat Khalifatul Masihaa.

Over two days, the Expo featured over 38 speakers, 32 sessions, and 25 career paths. During each 45-minute time block, three to four sessions ran concurrently, allowing attendees to choose the talk that interested them the most. Every session included dedicated time for attendees—whether on-site or remote—to ask questions. Between sessions, speakers were available in the Exhibition Area, which showcased the various Jama’at organizations represented at the event.

This year’s topics included, getting ready for Jamia & Serving as a Murrabi Silsila; Serving Humanity as a Lawyer, Law Enforcement Officer, Civil Servant (Foreign Policy), Soft skills/emotional intelligence, Teacher, Ophthalmologists, Pharmacist, Nurse; Serving the Jama’at as a Physician, Research Scientist, Architect, Journalist, Architect, Salam Initiative, Engineer, Cy-

ber Security, Serving Humanity First as a Waqf-e-Zindagi / Waqf-e-Nau; and Serving MTA USA as a Waqf-e-Zindagi. These sessions provided valuable insights and opportunities for attendees to explore their roles in service and professional growth.

Alhamdolillah, the 2025 Expo was attended by 188 men and 152 women, with a cumulative online attendance of 946 across all sessions.

Prayers are requested for all who dedicated their time and effort in organizing and facilitating this event. May Allah enable members, especially Waqifeen-e-Nau, to apply the knowledge gained from this program in the service of the Jama’at with strength and sincerity. Ameen.

Waqf-e-Nau Delegation’s Journey to the UK: A Spiritual and Cultural Odyssey

Waqf-e-Nau Mauritius

The delegation, comprised of 60 members—40 boys and 20 girls—was initiated one year prior to Jalsa Salana 2024, with the approval of our beloved Huzooraa. A set of criteria was established to guide the delegates in achieving their fullest potential and preparing them for their roles. To facilitate this process, regular one-on-one meetings were held with each delegate. This initiative aimed to strengthen the bond between the delegates and the Jama’at, ensuring they felt more connected and engaged in their mission.

The journey of the Waqf-e-Nau delegation from Mauritius to the UK was a profound experience of spiritual elevation, learning, and connection. The delegation had the unique opportunity to witness the strength of faith and dedication within the community, blending moments of personal reflection with Waqar-e-Amal. This journey wasn't just about visiting a new country but about strengthening their bond with Khilafat and reaffirming their commitment to a life of devotion and service.

Our first Namaz behind beloved Huzooraa

Our first time seeing and praying behind our beloved Huzooraa was a moment we had eagerly anticipated. On the evening of July 17th, we arrived at Masjid Mubarak at least two hours before the Maghrib and Isha prayers, our hearts filled with excitement and reverence. Dressed in our blue high-visibility vests emblazoned with "Waqf-e-Nau Mauritius" we were determined to pray in the first saff, aware of the significance of this sacred opportunity.

As the time drew near, an air of impatience and anticipation enveloped us. We shared hushed whispers, counting down the moments until we could witness Huzoor'saa presence. When the moment finally arrived, and Huzooraa entered the masjid, we felt a wave of emotion wash over us. Sur-

Huzoor’s voice as Beloved Huzoor led the prayers, tears flowing in sujood. This moment of deep connection with the Khalifa, feeling the weight of beloved Huzoor’s prayers for the community, left a lasting impact on the delegation. It reminded them of the power of prayer and the importance of always keeping the Khalifa in their supplications.

The Emotional Bai'at Ceremony

One of the most powerful spiritual experiences for the delegation was the Bai'at ceremony. The atmosphere in the marquee was electric, as thousands of believers renewed their pledge of allegiance to the Khalifa. The delegation made sure to arrive early, securing a place as close as possible to His Holiness. As they placed their hands on each other’s shoulders, they felt the weight of the responsibility they were taking on. The collective prayers and pledges were a profound reminder of their duty to serve Islam and humanity. As soon as beloved Huzoor started reading the Bai’at, tears could not stop flowing.

Invaluable Guidance from prominent members of the Jama’at.

During their stay, the delegation had the privilege of meeting with several key figures within the community, each imparting wisdom that would guide them in their roles as Waqf-e-Nau. Mian Saheb reminded them

of a powerful Hadith: “Leaders must serve for a noble cause and give good counsel” He emphasized that leadership is not about authority or status but about sincere service to others, echoing Huzoor’s own advice to serve with humility and dedication.

Murabbi Musharaf Sahib and Anas Rana Sahib stressed the importance of staying connected to faith through regular prayer and recitation of the Holy Qur’an. They also encouraged the delegates to take at least one piece of advice from each of Huzoor’s Friday sermons and actively apply it to their lives. This simple yet transformative guidance resonated with the delegation, reminding them that personal reformation is a continuous process, rooted in the teachings of Islam and the words of the Khalifa. The delegation also heard from Respected Abdul Majid Tahir Sahib, who shared an inspiring anecdote from Huzoor’s visit to Mauritius in 2005. He recalled how, during that visit, a small miracle occurred when a malfunctioning gate was suddenly fixed after Huzoor took the remote in his hand. This story underscored the spiritual presence and blessings that accompany the Khalifa, filling the hearts of the delegates with awe and admiration for beloved Huzoor’s connection with Allah.

A Heartfelt Moment with beloved Huzoor

Our time in the UK was a whirlwind of unforgettable moments, culminating in a photoshoot with beloved Huzoor. However, it wasn’t a mulaqat where we could engage in conversation with beloved Huzoor, leaving us with a longing that was palpable. As our departure from the UK approached on a Tuesday, we made a heartfelt decision to dedicate our entire Monday to being near beloved Huzoor in Islamabad. We offered our prayers—Zohr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—behind beloved Huzoor, seeking a deeper connection through our devotion.

After the Maghrib and Isha prayers, we waited eagerly for our coach to pick us up. Just then, the private secretary of beloved

Huzoor summoned the National Secretary of Waqf-e-Nau to his office. When the National Secretary arrived, he was informed that beloved Huzoor wanted us to come before our departure to the airport the next day, as beloved Huzoor would offer Dua with us. The joy and excitement surged through us; it felt like a blessing from above. That night, as we prepared for what lay ahead, anticipation filled the air. Everyone woke for Fajr, unable to sleep from the thrill of knowing we would meet beloved Huzoor the next day. Some of us were so overwhelmed with joy that we couldn't even rest the night before.

The following day, we traveled to meet beloved Huzoor, filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Upon entering the designated area, we were overwhelmed by a sense of awe. Despite the air conditioning, a palpable warmth enveloped us; the atmosphere was thick with emotion and reverence.

When beloved Huzoor arrived, any trace of stress vanished. The presence of beloved Huzoor was calming, a beacon of peace amidst our excitement. Beloved Huzoor led us in a heartfelt Dua, and we felt the power of those prayers wash over us. When the National Secretary inquired if we could ask beloved Huzoor some questions, beloved Huzoor gently declined, emphasizing the sanctity of the moment. Yet, after the Dua, beloved Huzoor graciously took a few minutes to speak with some of the delegates.

Those few minutes felt like an eternity, a fleeting glimpse into a cherished connection that filled our hearts with boundless joy and gratitude. Each word exchanged was a treasure, a blessing we would carry with us forever, a reminder of the love and guidance of beloved Huzoor.

Reflections A Journey of the Heart

As the journey came to an end, the delegation felt a deep sense of fulfillment. Each day

had brought new lessons, spiritual growth, and moments of reflection that would stay with them forever. The recognition from Huzoor, the wisdom shared by community leaders, and the opportunity to serve alongside fellow Khuddam were blessings that each delegate would carry with them.

This journey was not just a trip but a spiritual awakening, a reminder of the beauty of brotherhood, the power of prayer, and the importance of serving humanity. The delegation returned to Mauritius with renewed resolve, inspired to live up to the responsibilities of being Waqf-e-Nau, always striving to serve with humility, love, and dedication.
