Relationship of the Jamaat with Khilafat Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih IIIrh said: “Most of you understand what is meant by Khilafat in the Ahmadiyya Jamaat, but there are those who do not understand. One characteristic of this Khilafat is that it has been established by God the Exalted, and He has promised that through this institution of Khilafat, He will manifest the mighty hand of His powers. This Khilafat is supported by God the Exalted. This Khilafat has one entity. Khilafat is a soul and it has a body – the Ahmadiyya Jamaat. The combination of the soul and body forms an institution. “In 1967, a few Christian priests visited me in Copenhagen, Denmark. One of them asked me my position in Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya. To this, I replied that his question was wrong because we take the Imam Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya and the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya as synonymous. It means that the Khalifa of the age and the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya are combined to form one body. (Khilafat and Mujaddidiyyat, p. 10)
