Due West // MY INGLEWOOD Gravity features live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Nash is owned by Iron Chef Michael Noble, of NOtaBLE fame.

Located in the circa-1907 National Hotel, The Nash features an L-shaped space that delineates the restaurant and bar. The dining room feels fresh, bright and airy, and the bar is contrasted in rich, dark colours.

Culture Crawl Calgary designer Amanda Hamilton was an early adopter of Inglewood. She shares her favourite haunts of this historic pocket east of downtown. Amanda Hamilton can be a bit tricky to shoehorn. Her residential interiors landed her as a One to Watch in our Designers of the Year awards, but she’s just as savvy about creating dynamic commercial spaces or designing pillows, table linens or bespoke kimonos. She oversees this expanding empire from her studio in historic Inglewood— home to this small sampling of her fave spots. 34 | W E S T E R N L I V I N G . C A

Gravity bridges the gap between day and night. Morning sees great coffee, evening a diverse wine and beer collection that appeals to local communities of young artists, freelancers and business people alike. Knifewear has become an institution for Calgary chefs—a hangout for sharp aficionados who appreciate their exclusive lines of “scary sharp” high-performance blades. As the combatant of “black thumbs,” Plant provides greens that aren’t overly fussy and are more on the hardy side for easy care. A design-centric boutique, The Uncommons is operated by a small collective of designers focused on creating an “immersive experience that promotes exploration, interaction and conversation.”
