IN MEMORIAM

Kindergarten Pumpkin Lab | Our kindergarten class had so much fun with Pumpkin Investigation 101 this past fall! Using four of their five senses, the students explored the pumpkin inside and out. The kindergarteners inspected and discussed the overall construction of the pumpkin and then took turns describing the attributes of every aspect. Just another way we incorporate FUN into STEM here at WMA!

6th Grade Rocket Day | Rocket Day is a highly anticipated event for students in grade six at WMA!

The students create rockets by upcycling 2 liter plastic bottles. They make the rockets aerodynamic by adding nose cones, fins and their own personal touch to the design. Then they determine how much water to add and predict how it will affect the pressure to weight ratio of the craft. Finally, they test their design by having it filled to 80 psi and… BLAST OFF! Using a mechanical rangefinder, they are able to see how far their rocket was able to fly into the sky.
