IN MEMORIAM

Dear Waldron Community,

Catherine McAuley once said “A community in which this universal charity reigns, is capable of surmounting all difficulties.”

Though the past few years have had their fair share of struggles, we saw beauty in each and every day with our students, and we are so proud of the ways that they persevered and succeeded despite the challenges that they faced. For example, after a long hiatus of “normal” sports seasons, our Varsity Soccer team defeated Gwynedd Mercy to win the championship in 2021 and our 2022 team recently placed 2nd in the CAL league!

Our 2021/2022 Mercy Theme (Celebrating Diversity, United in Mercy) spoke to the idea that, though we are different from each other in many ways, we are all unified by our Mercy family and together we are stronger! It is these differences that set our students up for success later in life: providing daily opportunities to work, play and learn with people who look, speak and think differently than you allows you to view the world with a more open and compassionate mind.

As we approach our 100th anniversary, Waldron Mercy Academy continues to change, grow and adapt every single year, while one truth remains constant: We create generations of merciful, peaceful change makers who are invested in their education and inspired to succeed in whatever they do.

Please join us in praying for the WMA Class of 2022 as they have now embarked on their new adventures in a variety of notable high schools, and please continue to keep the entire Waldron community in your prayers as we continue another incredible school year. We are proud to incorporate our 2022/2023 Mercy Theme: Living in Mercy; Leading with Peace into our daily lives here at Waldron, and we hope that our peaceful aspirations will also inspire the community around us.

We are endlessly grateful for all of your support and guidance, and we are excited to commemorate our 100th anniversary with Waldron alumni and families from near and far — stay tuned for more exciting details!
