Teacher Appreciation Day Card Making

During lunch at school, Key Clubbers created cards to teachers with words of appreciation. The Key Clubbers used markers and other writing utensils to make the cards much more colorful. Later, the cards were sent to the teachers they were written for.

Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

For our Teacher Appreciation Week on May 6 to 10 WaiÄ kea Key Club students worked hard to put together a teachers appreciation breakfast on that Wednesday, May 8. Members baked all sorts of goods from muffins to croissants and brought in their own items like fruits, bagels to coffee and juice. Breakfast was served by us from 7 to 8 a.m. and after word members gathered what was left and made deliveries to teachers who didn’t visit. All in all a definitely successful project, leaving behind many satisfied teachers!

Project Grad Set Up

For Project Grad prep, Key Clubbers met during lunch and after school to cut tennis balls to be placed on chairs. The tennis balls were cut in a cross-shape with a small knife to allow the bottom of the chair to fit in. The tennis balls were placed on the bottom of chairs at Project Grad.

PTP Folder Sorting

At this project, Waiakea High School Key Clubbers helped to alphabetize student’s PTP folders for the upcoming year. Each Key Clubber took a stack of the student’s folders and put them into stacks which allowed the folders to be alphabetized by their last names. Then the stacks of folders were organized into boxes which were to be organized by homeroom at another session. At the other session, Key Clubbers continued to organize the PTP folders. However, this time they organized the alphabetized folders by homeroom. Similar to the previous session, each Key Clubber bound together the folders which belonged to each homeroom so that they could easily be given to the advisory classes.

WHS Schedule Pick Up

At this project, Waiakea High School Key Club members did two main things. First, some members were placed at various locations around the high school campus to guide students and their families to different important locations. Other students gave groups of people tours of the campus when asked for by the groups.

WHS Club Day

At this project, Key Club members helped to set up and run the Key Club booth at the school’s club day. After setting up the tent and its signs, members handed out promotional materials and advocated for the club. Many students came to the tent and current members were able to speak to them about Key Club. Once the time was over, the members helped to take down the booth.

WHS Open H ouse

At this project Waiakea High School Key Clubbers went to the Waiakea High School Open House and assisted with giving directions and maps to parents. The Key Clubbers were spread throughout the school in groups so that the information was accessible to everyone. They were also in charge of leading parents to teacher’s rooms if they did not know where to go. Some members also distributed cups of water to parents walking around the school.

Evacuation Sign Making

At this project, Key Club members helped in making cardstock evacuation signs with wooden handles for various teachers. Some members measured and cut out the large strips of cardstock needed to put the name of the teachers on. The names came as letters in envelopes, and some members glued them onto the large pieces of cardstock. Finally, some members attached wooden dowels to the signs to act as handles.

H omecoming Football Game Clean-Up

In the month of September, Waiakea High School Key Club had some of its members volunteer to help out with the Homecoming Football Game Cleanup. After the game, some members assisted with cleaning the bleachers, walking up and down to pick trash up.. Members also picked up the trash left behind in garbage cans as well as took down the decorations.

Football Stadium Clean-Up

At this project, Key Clubbers helped clean up the football stadium. Key Clubbers picked up trash left behind in the stadium after the football game such as bottles, cans, and food packages. Key Clubbers also went around the campus to see if any other trash was left behind.

WHS Pumpkin Patch

On October 20, 2019, WaiÄ kea High PTSA held their annual pumpkin patch fundraiser. Key Club volunteered to help in a number of areas including set up, clean up, concession, and just lending a hand wherever needed during the event. Set up just required members to lay the Masonite flooring over the gym floor and help vendors with set up their booths while concession served in shifts the day of the event taking a preparing orders. Members not in concession helped by passing water to vendors and tagging pumpkins at the patch and transporting them to the holding area, where Circle K would take over and watch them. All in all it was an extremely successful project, all 800 pumpkins were sold and many Key Club members got to participate and help in some way or another.

Santa’s Workshop

On December 5, 2019, our Key Club worked with other service organizations at our school at Santa’s Workshop. Santa’s Workshop is an event for students from our feeder elementary schools to buy inexpensive Christmas presents for their families. The Key Clubbers worked as personal shoppers and gift wrappers. The personal shoppers worked with a student to guide them through the cafeteria to locate presents while the gift wrappers wrapped the gifts. It was a very enjoyable project as the students were adorable and they loved the event.

Service to Community 14


BIAN Plant Sale

At this project in March, Key Clubbers wrote receipts that listed the price of each plant and the total cost for customers. The receipts were used to help the cashiers and make the lines go faster. Members also worked in the holding area. The holding area was where customers could temporarily store their plants while they continued shopping.

Big Island Marathon

This project was split into two days. On the first day, Key Clubbers helped with the setup of the aid stations. The tasks included distributing the various supplies needed at each aid station and washing water jugs that would also be used at the aid stations. On the second day, Key Clubbers helped with distributing water to the athletes.

Merrie Monarch T-Shirt Booth

At this project, Key Clubbers worked at a booth that sold T-Shirts at Merrie Monarch. Members were split into groups, with some at the register and some by the shirts. When people came to buy merchandise members had to work together to handle an order or multiple orders. They found the appropriately sized shirt of a particular style and handed it to the customer.

Special Olympics Track and Field

At the Special Olympics Track and Field project, Key Clubbers worked to assist the event. Members helped with several tasks, including tying string to ribbons and walking participants to and from their tents. This project was also done with Circle K members.

Astro Day

On May 4, we volunteered at Astro Day. Astro day is a day for children from the community to come out and learn more about astronomy and science. At this project we key clubbers, worked behind the scenes as helpers for the volunteers. We would deliver food and drinks to them and take over their booths if they needed to use the bathroom. While they were gone, we would explain the exhibit to passing keiki. This project was an overall success because we were able to help out and interact with the community!

WES Teacher Appreciation Day

During the Waiakea Elementary School Teacher’s Appreciation Day on May 3, we made cards, posters and put together a little game for the teachers of each grade level. We also decorated little butterflies and apples and worms that went on a poster. The posters went all around the school and the cards went out to the teachers. Overall, this was a really successful project, and we really enjoyed how it turned out.

Bronco & Pony Baseball H elp

The Bronco and Pony Baseball Project was held at the Walter Victor Baseball Complex. Waiakea Key Clubbers were restricted to scoring and calling out the baseball players at bat. Two baseball games would be played simultaneously, resulting in at least three Key Clubbers to be stationed at the two scoring tables. One would be in charge of helping with the scores and keeping track of the innings and home runs. The other would be in charge of calling out the players at bat, and the third would be an alternate in case someone had to rest.

Mercy Day Fair

The Mercy Day Fair was an event for those of lower income to attend and get essential services and other necessities free of cost. Key Clubbers set up a tent give clothes to those in need. Key Clubbers sorted the donated clothes as well as helped to hand out the clothes to the underprivileged.

Hilo Orchid Community Clean-Up

At this project, Key Clubbers went to the Edith Kanakaole Stadium to help the Hilo Orchid Community clean-up after their event. Key Clubbers helped sweep the large stadium’s floors to remove the dirt and dust left on the ground after the event. They also helped fold and put away tables.

Relay for Life Luminaries

Relay for Life Luminaries included tasks such as helping to give out recognition glowsticks to survivors and caregivers, Giving people their lanterns they paid for, and help setting those lanterns up. It was a successful and helpful project. It also allowed us to interact with many cancer caregivers and survivors.

Shampooch

On August 10, 2019 several Waiakea High Key Club members offered their time to participate in the Shampooch with the Rainbow Friends, a rescue organization. The Shampooch is a dog washing project which took place at the Kea’au Eagles Club. The project altogether took about 5 1/2 hours, washing about 40 dogs. Overall the Shampooch raised about $320 which went to Rainbow Friends to help abandoned and neglected dogs.

Lehua Hawaii Pagent Concession

At the Lehua Hawaii Pageant concession, members sold drinks for the event. The food part of concession at the event was very busy, so Key Club help was needed to sell the drinks to the attendees. The project benefited the organization that ran the local pageant for young to teenaged girls.

BIAN Plant Sale

On August 31, Waiakea High School Key Clubbers helped with the BIAN Plant Sale. Key Clubbers helped in the holding area, where shoppers could leave their plants while they continued browsing. They were also cashiers, where they wrote up the prices and amount of plants that shoppers bought. Key Clubbers also assisted buyers by carrying heavier plants to their cars. Despite how busy it became at times, Key Clubbers stayed focused and helped to make that night successful.

Ladies Night Out

On September 27, 2019, Waiakea High School Key Club helped with the Ladies’ Night Out event at Edith Kanakaole Stadium. Ladies’ Night Out is an event for women who have gone through tragedies, for them to have an enjoyable night. Key Clubbers were split into three groups, one helped prepare the food, another served food in a line, and another walked around the stadium serving food to volunteers. Overall, it was a success and we were able to serve everyone who attended.

VEX IQ Tournament

At these projects, Key Club members did two main jobs. Some members helped to reset the playing fields after matches finished and points were taken. Other people helped to queue teams, informing them that their match was coming up so they can prepare and come to the match areas. On another day, Key Clubbers did two main jobs. One group of members was at the queuing tables, making sure the right teams were there. Others were around the playing fields, keeping track of points after matches ended.

KWXX H o’olaulea

The KWXX Ho’olaulea is a local music event, held in Downtown and open to the public. For this project, the Key Clubbers assisted in setting up two stages for the event. Members also worked at the info booth, answering questions and directing the public to various places.

At the Special Olympics Track and Field project, Key Clubbers worked to assist the event. Members helped with several tasks, including tying string to ribbons and walking participants to and from their tents. This project was also done with Circle K members.

Big Island Candies

At this project, Key Clubbers went to Big Island Candies to help package cookies. Key Clubbers had to fold and date boxes making sure there were no printing errors on the boxes. They also had to organize the right hand dipped and left hand dipped cookies in a specific order and make sure it is within a certain weight.

EDR Tournament

At the EDR Tournament, Key Clubbers assisted with several tasks throughout the competition. Upon arrival, members helped with last-minute event set-up. Throughout the tournament they helped to reset the tournament fields and the skills fields. After the event ended, members helped to clean up the area.

Fundraising 34


March of Dimes

At this project, Key Clubbers gathered funds for the March of Dimes. Using a poster with “March of Dimes” written on it,” seniors and juniors filled in the word “March” with dimes. The sophomores and freshmen filled in the word “Dimes.” Although it was a big poster, every word got filled with dimes (advisors took care of the word “of”)

Project Eliminate

In order to raise money for Project Eliminate, our club held a coin war. The coin war was between classes, with the freshmen and seniors teamed up against the sophomores and juniors. Members of each class donated coins. In total, the club raised $54 for Project Eliminate.

Relay for Life

Prior to Relay For Life, each Key Clubber fundraised at least $20 for American Cancer Society. At the event itself, Waiakea Key Club members interacted with other members of our Kiwanis Family, including Hilo High Key Club and the Kiwanis Club. Members ran small games to raise more money for the American Cancer Society and walked laps around the field to raise awareness for the organization.

PTP Walk-A-Thon

Executive board members were each assigned a new member of Key Club to walk around the quad. The new Key Club members collected money from students and teachers to bring awareness to PTP. The members collected it in containers made by them with their name and what PTP is about.

Fall Rally

At Fall Rally West, clubs were placed into teams to compete in various competitions. For the fundraising aspect, Key Clubbers “bought” advisors that had special “superpowers” that would enable them to complete various tasks and challenges easily. The money raised was donated to PTP.

Afterschool Concession

Concession was a two week-long fundraiser for the club. Key Clubbers sold a variety of food and snack items to the students of Waiakea High School. There were also daily specials, including quesadillas, which the Key Clubbers had to first cook before selling.

Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF

Key Clubbers were given a UNICEF donation box to raise money for MNT prevention. There was a gift card prize to the member who collected the most in donations. Each member took a box home and collected donations from their friends and family. The encouraged amount was at least $10.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

At this project, Key Clubbers helped the Salvation Army by ringing bells in front of Walmart and collecting donations. Key Clubbers stood in front of Walmart and rang bells and passed out peppermints. They also tried to entertain people by singing holiday songs to get them to donate.

K-Kids Training

At this training, the officers of our Key Club went to Waiakea Elementary to train their K-Kids officers. Our officers taught their officers the responsibilities of their respective roles and also played various ice breakers with them that taught them the importance of teamwork.

Egg Stuffing

At this project, Key Clubbers from Waiakea Key Club, along with Hilo Key Club and the Kiwanis Club stuffed Easter eggs. Each egg had to be filled with a few pieces of candy and over 10,000 eggs were stuffed. The eggs were then used for the Kiwanis Keiki Day Easter Egg Hunt.

Sparky Swim Meet

At this project, Key Clubbers helped to get the swimmers’ times. Two Key Clubbers were assigned to each lane (8 lanes in total). One of the two Key Clubbers used the stopwatch to get the times as the swimmers hit the wall and the other wrote it down on a clipboard later used to record official times.

Kiwanis Keiki Day

Kiwanis Keiki Day 2019 consisted of various DIY crafts, food competitions and an Easter egg hunt. The Waiakea Key Club volunteers, along with members from Hilo High Key Club and the Kiwanis Club were asked to help children make Easter themed art and judge the competitions. They also spread the eggs stuffed at a prior project over the large field for the Easter Egg Hunt.

Panaewa Zoo Clean-Up

During the Panaewa Zoo Cleanup on June 1, 2019, Waiakea High Key Club along with Hilo High Key Club pulled weeds in the Discovery Forest. Before moving onto the fun part, we had to make sure that there were no weeds left behind so we could have a clean slate, so we could plant some new things. After pulling weeds, we planted new things within the Discovery Forest such as ti leaves, sugar cane, and other small trees. This project was very successful; we got a lot done within the time we had.

Officer Training Conference Service Project

At Officer Training Conference, members participated in a service project hosted by Hilo High Key Club. the Key Clubbers assembled pieces of small, round pins by placing the decorative paper and the pin sides into a device and creating the finished pin. The pins were later sold at Regional Training Conference to raise money for Pediatric Trauma Program.

Sumoto Pool Party & Bon Dance

The Sumoto Pool Party was held on August 23rd and was a social between Hilo and WaiÄ kea High Key Club and Japanese students. It was held at the Hilo High School pool. We swam and interacted with the Japanese students. Afterwards, we ate dinner and did bon dances around the pool. It was fun getting to meet the students and make new friends.

Regional Training Conference

At RTC, Key Clubbers went to various sessions to learn more about Key Club, officer positions and duties, how to improve their club, and also participated in various service projects. Key Clubbers were also able to meet Key Clubbers from other schools, interacting with them in fun bonding activities. At Fall Rally West, members raised funds for PTP.

Get the Drift and Bag It

For this project, Key Clubbers went to a local beach. They then picked up trash at the beach along with members of other Kiwanis Family clubs. The project was a fun opportunity to serve alongside the Kiwanis Family and build new relationships between members.

Airport Disaster Simulation

The Disaster Simulation was a project done with the Fire Department. The Key Clubbers from Waiakea, along with Hilo High Key Club, participated as actors in a simulated disaster on the airport runway. We got fake injuries, including fake blood and fake objects “impaled� into some Key Clubbers. The firefighters and other first responders practiced responding to the simulated disaster. The Waiakea Key Club also got transported to the hospital as a part of the simulation. The experience was fascinating and we got to see firsthand how the emergency responders would handle disasters such as ours.

Panaewa Zoo Clean-Up

The Pana’ewa Zoo Cleanup that happened on October 26 was a really fun experience. WaiÄ kea High Key Club joined with various clubs from our Kiwanis Family to work together in helping our local zoo. We weeded a large section of the zoo that was overgrown, planted and learned a bit about native plants, and made ti leaf bracelets. Overall, it was a very positive experience working with the zoo staff and other clubs to help improve our community.

Waiakea Intermediate School Color Run

Several Key Clubbers helped out on the Waiakea Intermediate School Color Run. In the morning, they helped set up tents, registration forms, and prizes. Many of the students got to spray colors on the kids during the 1.5 and 3-mile fun run. It was a rainy day, which made the colors even more vibrant. There were many prizes, such as lunch bags, socks, toys, and more! Snacks and drinks were provided as well. All the funds made were to Sunrise Athletics, a non-profit organization that helps elementary to high school runners school run during off-seasons. After hours of work, it was worth watching all the children have a blast!

Kiwanis Family Christmas Social Card Making

At our Kiwanis Family Christmas Party we did several things to strengthen bonds between all branches of our Kiwanis family. All clubs were invited to our library where we did icebreakers, games, and a service project where we made holiday cards for Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a local organization. After the social, a couple Key Clubbers from Waiakea and Hilo, along with the Kiwanis of East Hawaii President and our D22M LTG delivered the cards to the residents of Legacy.

Waiakea Elementary School School Kine Cookies Pick-Up

At this project, Key Clubbers went to Waiakea Elementary School and sorted the cookie orders in alphabetical order. After that, the members collected parents’ order slips, went to go look for their order, and helped them carry their boxes back to their cars if needed.

Inclusion Play Date

The Inclusion Day Play Date was held at Hilo Union and both the Waiakea and Hilo Key Clubs participated. The Key Clubbers worked at various stations, ranging from water games to listening to a story. Overall, the project was very enjoyable because the Key Clubbers had fun and the preschoolers appreciated the event.

Kapiolani Elementary School Career Fair

At the Kapiolani Elementary Career Fair, Key Clubbers were assigned to different career path presenters. The children were given a passport to collect stamps from visiting the various career paths. Key Clubbers were primarily stamping passports for the children. Some Key Clubbers were also filling and distributing cups of water. At the end, Key Clubbers swept the floors of the cafeteria

Waiakeawaena Elementary School School Kine Cookies Pick-Up

On May 4th 2019, Waiakea Key Club helped with Waiakeawaena Elementary School Kine Cookie pick up. Everyone helped with checking the boxes and sorting them by alphabetical order. Then we split up into two groups, one for the inside to grab the boxes and the second to sign people in. Overall everyone did a good job and the project was a success.

Sunrise Athletics Run for Fun Obstacle Course

At this project, Key Clubbers helped prepare the event by making the course and testing it out so it is safe for the younger kids and blow up floaties for one of the obstacles. During the event we help with registration by making sure each kid the right color headband. During the race some members were course marshals and two people helped with recording who came in at the finish line. After the race we cleaned up all the obstacles course and made sure there were no trash left behind.

Tiger Fun Day

At this project, Key Club members were tasked with working at various areas around Pana’ewa Zoo. Some people stamped the papers of visitors, which indicated that they had gone to that area. Others worked at booths for merchandise and such.

Kapiolani Elementary School H ealth and Wellness Day Fair

The Kapiolani Elementary School Health and Wellness Fair was a success. The many people that came learned about healthy eating, exercise, car safety, and even CPR. The Key Club members that attended this project assisted with activities such as: a smoothie bike, Zumba, and serving healthy snacks and sandwiches. The main purpose for this fair was to encourage parents and their children to maintain healthy lifestyles. It was fun to watch how the Kapiolani students participated in the many activities that were there.

Waiakea Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization Ice Cream Night

At this project, Key Clubbers went to Waiakea Elementary School to help with their PTO Ice Cream Night. Before the event started Key Clubbers helped decorate Waiakea Elementary School’s cafeteria with ice cream cutouts. They also helped scoop ice cream and put toppings on the students’ sundaes.

Waiakeawaena Elementary School Book Fair

At this project, Key Clubbers helped children search for the books that they wished to buy. Members helped to straighten stacks of books and restock the books that ran out. They also helped children choose books that would interest them.

Waiakea Elementary School Trunk-or-Treat

The WaiÄ kea Elementary Trunk or Treat was held on October 25, 2019. The Key Clubbers helped to distribute candy to the various stands that were open in the vicinity. They also helped to set up and clean up. Our club found this project enjoyable because of the little kids, seeing them with smiles on their faces and having the time of their lives really put us all in the working spirit.

H onoka’a Spooktacular During this project, Key Clubbers assisted the North Hawaii Education and Research Center, NHERC, staff with their annual Honoka’a Spooktacular. We helped by passing out candies to kids in their costume. Also we helped by ensuring parents that they are going to right way to fill get the stamps they need for their passport. When the event was almost finished we went around asking people if they wanted more candy.

Halloween Craft Prep and Prince Kuhio Plaza Event

At this project, Key Clubbers set up a booth at the Prince Kuhio Plaza (the local mall) where children were able to do some crafts such as making lollipop ghosts. The members instructed and helped the children on how to do the various crafts.

Waiakea Elementary School Cookie Pick-Up

At this project, Key Clubbers sorted the cookie orders in alphabetical order. After that, the members collected the parents’ order slips, went to go look for their order, and helped the parents carry their boxes back to their cars if needed.

Kapiolani Elementary School H oliday Dinner

At this project, Key Clubbers went to Chiefess Kapi’olani Elementary School to help with their Holiday Dinner. During dinner, Key Clubbers helped pass out utensils and collect meal tickets. After dinner, they helped run many activities such as card making, photo booth, origami, and other fun holiday activities.

Waiakeawaena Elementary School Bingo Night

At this project, Key Clubbers did several jobs. The first was to sort the bingo prizes by prize numbers. Other members worked to full cups with water and juice. Another group of members were assigned to check the bingo cards to verify a bingo.

Waiakea Elementary School Bingo Night

At the Waiakea Elementary School bingo night, Key Clubbers assisted with the running of bingo. They handed out cards as attendees arrived and passed beads out to cover cards. The members also helped serve chili that the Parent Teacher Organization sold and passed out the bingo prizes. After, the Key Clubbers helped clean the cafeteria that the event was held at.

Sunrise Practice

At a series of weekly Sunrise Athletics practices, Key Clubbers attended each practice. Members assisted the coaches by watching the students participating and setting up simple games. They also helped time and direct the students as they ran. After, members cleaned up all of the obstacle pieces from the field.

No-Slip Sock Making

During lunch and after school, Key Clubbers went to our advisor’s classroom to create no-slip socks. They used puffy paints to decorate the bottom of the socks, making them look nice and make them no-slip. The socks were then donated to children in the hospital who could use them.

Kapi’olani Elementary School Hydration Presentation

In this project, members of Waiakea High School Key Club presented to students attending Chiefess Kapi’olani Elementary School about the benefits of hydration and water. One of the presenters had made a presentation on the topic, which was further improved by the rest of the members involved. After preparing everything required and heading to the school, we dropped off the water bottles that were to be given to the students. There were two groups which together composed the whole school, and the members presented to both, one group at a time. A challenge to use the provided water bottles and drink more water was explained after the presentation.

Special K Prom Work Session

At these projects, Key Clubbers were making decorations in preparation for Special K Prom. Members made character cardboard cutouts, decorated mason that would be used as decorations on the tables, and made other decorations as well.

Officer Training Conference Banner Making

Our club was asked by the Lieutenant Governor to make the Officer Training Conference banner with the theme (The Vastness of Service) for the first ever division-wide OTC. Key Clubbers worked together to start cutting out stars and an opihi for the banner. The banner was then finished by the Division Assistant (a club member) who took the banner home and painted the letters on the banner and attached the stars and opihi.

Officer Training Conference Breakfast Making

At Officer Training Conference, Waiakea Key Club was asked to be responsible for the breakfast on the second day. The members woke up early and set up the kitchen to make the food. They cut croissants and cheese and assembled small breakfast sandwiches. They also cut up several types of fruit to make a fruit salad. The breakfast was very popular amongst the attendees.

Special K Prom Set Up

At this project, Key Clubbers constructed various props and decorations for Special K Prom. The event was Neverland themed. Some of the decorations included cardboard Peter Pan characters and themed photo backdrops. They set up the constructed props on the walls and decorated the tables.

Welcome Back Card Making

At this project, Key Clubbers worked to put together cardstock to make simple cards. They wrote “Happy new school year!� on the covers. The cards were then sent to the other clubs in the Division as well as other Kiwanis Family clubs. Through this fun project members of Waiakea Key Club are able to connect with other clubs.

Regional Training Conference Pediatric Trauma Program Store Prep

At this project, Key Club members helped to make items for sale for the upcoming PTP Store at RTC. The main task was to assemble the item, a Post-It Note holder, using precut construction paper, glue, and other things. There were also other people who prepared the components. They mainly cut construction paper.

Sign Waving (Key Club Week )

On November 5th, 2019, Key Club members stood at the front of the school by the road sign waving as a part of Key Club Week’s Show Your K. These members were out there in the morning, before school started, for about half an hour to forty five minutes. This was to promote key club to parents, students, and community members passing by or driving into the school. Many parents and other drivers waved and read the sign.

Dare to Care Blanket (Key Club Week )

On November 14, 2019 from 12:25pm to 12:55pm the Waiakea High Key Club worked in Mrs.Sato’s classroom and made no-sew blankets for the Kiwanis Family House. We cut the sides of the blanket into strips then tied those strips into knots to give the blankets some decoration. Our faculty advisor, Mrs. Sato made sure that everyone was on task and doing the jobs they were assigned to. Overall, the service project was a success because everyone did what they were supposed to do.

H oliday Card Making

At Holiday Card Making, Key Clubbers worked to design cards for other clubs in our Kiwanis Family and Division. They decorated the cards with stamps and small pieces of paper and wrote a holiday-related message inside. The cards were then sent to K-Family and other clubs in the Division for the holidays.
