VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT
Who would you like to highlight and what is their volunteer role?
Clare is a retail volunteer with Ayrshire Hospice.
What impact has this volunteer had?
Clare takes on a range of responsibilities in the Ayrshire Hospice shop, including working the till, filling rails with stock, customer service, informing donators of GiftAid, answering any enquiries, and pricing stock for customers.
Her hard work as a volunteer in the Hospice shop supports vital fundraising efforts that allow the Ayrshire Hospice to keep running!
“I love to have a giggle with the customers know some of them by first name I have made life long friends with some of the other volunteers. You never know what is going to be donated, so every day brings something different. Volunteering at the Hospice has helped to bring me out my shell.
I absolutely love volunteering at the Hospice.”

“Volunteering isn't just some free labour - it is an opportunity. I for one have experienced this truth through my volunteering experience After my third day of Volunteering at the Narture bakery on the Sandgate, I was offered an apprenticeship. Which I took. Now, once I finish my final exam, I will be set up with an amazing apprenticeship, allowing me to fulfil my dreams of owning my own bakery, all thanks to a volunteering opportunity ”

“My life has been greatly enhanced by volunteering and I couldn’t imagine not doing it Volunteering gives me such a positive feeling I have met people from all over the world and have built relationships with people living locally. I wish people knew how much joy there is in volunteering, and how much it can teach you about listening, being kind and not judging others.”
