We have used our skills and innovative R&D approach to create a range of MEP Pods based on the technology developed for our award-winning MODULHAUSTM range of interim housing solutions – maximising our DfMA ethos and invisible standardisation principles.

For the first time, these MEP Pods are now commercially available and can be manufactured to meet various design requirements and configurations – delivered to the exacting standards you would expect from the VOLUMETRICTM team.

VOLUMETRICTM adopts a partnership approach and works in close collaboration to develop bespoke MEP Pod solutions to meet individual residential project briefs and budgets whilst optimising standardisation for maximum efficiency. Instantly responding to demands for digital communications, hot water, heating and energy requirements – our MEP Pods reduce traditional installation times by up to 90%.

DESIGNED TO PERFORM

Using DfMA [Design for Manufacture and Assembly] protocols, our approach focuses on ease of manufacture and efficiency of assembly. By optimising the design of our MEP Pods, it is possible to produce them more rapidly, more sustainably and more efficiently through a repeatable process. With plumbing manifolds for hot and cold water supplies, VOLUMETRIC’s MEP Pods incorporate pre-wired junction boxes, wiring looms and draw cables for electrical connections. Our MEP Pods have been designed for simple installation and commissioning – with complete focus on site interfaces and ease of connection.

INCREASING PRODUCTIVITY

Exploiting lean and world class manufacturing principles combined with advanced digital technology, VOLUMETRIC’s MEP Pods achieve a Pre-Manufactured Value (PMV) of 94%. Our MEP Pods are a fast-track solution that increases on site productivity and overcomes the shortfall in skilled trades. Removing traditional MEP activity from the critical construction path into our optimised factory environment, increases the speed of installing services by at least 90%.

Using our unparalleled experience underpinned by digital technology, our MEP Pods take the construction industry forward by delivering a robust and reliable MEP solution to meet the communications, heating, ventilation, and electrical demands of a range of residential building types.

Our advanced manufacturing facility has been extended to efficiently manage the production of at least 2,500 MEP Pods per year, in addition to our Bathroom Pod and module range. Reducing the complexity of managing project co-ordination across multiple trades and services, our offsite manufactured MEP Pods provide a complete unitised solution.

GUARANTEED QUALITY

With a culture of continuous improvement, our total quality management systems ensure that rigorous checking and testing processes are in place throughout the design and manufacturing phase. All plumbing runs and electrical circuits are fully tested and certified before despatch, minimising the chance of leaks or remedial works following on site commissioning. Full traceability is provided via QR code use and scanning.

DIGITAL ENGINEERING

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Without exception, rigorous research and robust testing is central to every design and development decision. Our in-house skills are underpinned with a range of advanced digital technology, 3D printing, augmented and virtual reality prototyping to ensure accuracy and high-performance outputs. Renewable energy technology is built into every MEP Pod including Heat Interface Units (HIU), Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery systems (MVHR).

The VOLUMETRICTM team are proud of our reputation as leaders in technical innovation. Utilising digital engineering with building information modelling (BIM) at its core, 3D models are virtually designed and digitally tested for rapid MEP Pod prototyping. Maximising Revit software use ensures structural design accuracy and detailing precision. Our Dalux management system (DMS) is used as part of our information management protocols and quality validation process which enables easy BIM and document coordination as well as mobile access.
