Exploiting our DfMA [Design for Manufacture and Assembly] ethos, our approach focuses on ease of manufacture and efficiency of assembly. By optimising the design of our bathroom and ensuite pods, it is possible to produce them more rapidly, more sustainably and more efficiently through a repeatable process.
Delivering spatial efficiency, the super slimline 50mm wide light steel frame, is thinner than standard partitioning walls. When fitted independently of party walls, the structure takes up the minimal amount of space possible.
Our in-house skills are underpinned with a range of advanced digital technology, 3D printing, augmented and virtual reality prototyping to ensure accuracy and high-performance outputs. Using digital engineering with building information modelling (BIM) at its core, 3D models are developed and digitally tested. Maximising Revit software ensures structural design accuracy and detailing precision. Our Dalux management system (DMS) is used as part of our total quality validation process which enables easy BIM and document coordination as well as mobile access.
With an extensive pod range available for selection, all ergonomically designed to ensure the best use of space and aesthetic appeal, our bathrooms and ensuites have options to tailor fittings and finishes. Fully customisable internal fit-outs include a range of baths, showers, sinks, taps, valves, vanity units, mirrors and lighting – enabling our clients to achieve bespoke finishes to meet the brief and budget.
Walls can be completed to any specification from fully or partially tiled to tile sheets or painted finishes – even the tile spacings are customisable. Pods are designed with special attention to needs, functionality and safety.
All bathroom pods are designed for future adaptation should the need arise to convert to a full wet-room floor.
Research and robust testing are central to every design and development decision. With a culture of continuous improvement, our total quality management systems ensure that rigorous checking and testing processes are in place throughout the design and manufacturing phase. All plumbing runs and electrical circuits are fully tested and certified before despatch, minimising the risk of leaks or remedial works following on site commissioning. Full traceability is provided via QR code use and scanning.
Designed and produced in our own lean manufacturing facility, our fast-track solutions increase productivity and overcome the shortfall in skilled trades. Our bathroom and ensuite pods arrive on site as a finished unit ready to be ‘plugged’ into the building’s MEP infrastructure and optionally connected to our own MEP pods.
The use of access panels, junction boxes and draw cables for electrical connections mean they are quick and easy to install. Removing traditional bathroom trades from the critical construction path into our optimised factory environment, increases the speed of installing these services and dramatically reduces construction time on site.
Bathroom and ensuite pods are not only more cost and time efficient, but they are also eco-friendly. Less energy is used during our lean manufacturing process and transportation use is optimised for full loads to site – reducing carbon emissions. Low energy lighting and controlled flow showers and dual-flush cisterns can be included to mitigate water waste, making our bathroom and ensuite pods even more sustainable.
Our lean manufacturing facility has been extended to efficiently manage the production of over 2,000 bathroom and ensuite pods per year, in addition to our MEP Pod range. Our skilled teams manufacture each pod to exacting specifications, meeting our client’s requirements with variations in size, finishes and fittings whilst maintaining standardisation at consistently high quality. Our light steel frame pods deliver advantages to developments that require a large number of standardised bathrooms and ensuites such as student accommodation, social housing, high end apartments, care homes and hotels.
