Class of 2023 College Admissions Profile • Independent, Catholic, college preparatory day school for young women founded in 1833 by the Sisters of the Visitation of Holy Mary. Visitation Academy is one of four schools in the Visitation Salesian Network. The other Visitation schools are in Mendota Heights (Minnesota), Georgetown (Washington, D.C.), and Brooklyn (New York).

* The Class of 2023 engaged in virtual distance learning for the last 26 days during the final semester of their freshman year. Grades remained the same for students who completed all required assignments. Final exams were not administered. Students started sophomore year virtually but were in person from Labor Day to the end of the school year. Our transcripts will appear identical to our pre-COVID transcripts. • Each year, freshmen, sophomores, and seniors must complete two Salesian service experiences, one per semester. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS AND CURRICULUM OVERVIEW Students must successfully complete at least 28 units in four years for graduation, including the following minimums: -Science - 3.0 units -English - 4.0 units -Social Studies - 3.0 units
-World Languages - 2.0 units
-PE/Health & Wellness/Health - 1.5 units
-Computer Applications - 0.5 units
-Visual & Performing Arts - 1.5 units
-Mathematics - 4.0 units (or completion of Calculus)

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) AND DUAL ENROLLMENT (CC) COURSE CRITERIA AND OPTIONS - Admission into accelerated courses is by departmental recommendation. -S tudents can take one AP/CC course in Grade 10. -S tudents are limited to three AP/CC classes during junior and senior years. -T he ability to take AP/CC courses depends on the student’s subject matter competency when they enter Visitation Academy and is determined through placement testing. As such, the highest level of math or science may not be available to them. -T he most rigorous class schedule typically includes five to six AP/CC courses throughout the student’s tenure. ◊A P/CC courses follow the College Board AP Program and Saint Louis University curricula. ◊ AP courses follow the College Board AP Program curriculum. ◊ CC courses follow the Saint Louis University curriculum.

All classes are taught at the college preparatory level or above. Visitation Academy Middle School students complete at least a year of Latin, French, or Spanish and algebra 1 as part of our accelerated curriculum.

Suggested 4.0 conversion is available on the official student transcript and also can be found below. - The official GPA includes all courses offered for Grades 9-12. - GPA is only weighted for AP/CC (+5), AP (+5), CC (+5), and (+3) for Honors English Literature. - Students are not ranked. - The following courses are graded Pass/Fail (P/F) – Leadership, online courses, and PE/sports.

AP, ACT, AND SAT – 2022 RESULTS Percentages reflect the number of students scoring 3 or higher on AP exams. Visitation does not require students to take the AP test at the end of a course.
