JOIN US FOR THE 50TH MOORE & GILES VIRGINIA 10 MILER September 28, 2024

Dear Elite Runner,
On behalf of The Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler race committee and our sponsors, I would like to extend an offer to you to come (or return) and race the historic streets and hills of Lynchburg, Virginia on September 28, 2024. I can assure you that you will enjoy the event and that you will be treated as a top-level runner. As an elite runner, you will receive free entry, lodging with a host, a travel allowance (in many cases), and the opportunity to compete for prize money.
Celebrating its 50th Anniversary, The Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler has a rich tradition of world and US elite runners competing against one another. Olympians, Gold Medalists and world record holders are amongst the elite athletes who have charged up Farm Basket hill to the finish. Many who run the 10 Miler run outstanding times in fall marathons, so I invite you to come and create new race history.
I welcome your interest and the opportunity to answer any questions.
Sincerely,
Bret Boman Elite Runner Coordinator bret@virginia10miler.com 434-841-0554“If I could only run one race per year, this would be it. I have immensely enjoyed the Virginia Ten Miler experience these last couple of years. The elites are treated with amazing host accommodations and the course is continuously lined with cheering crowds. The challenging hills set up the perfect scenario to race for place rather than time. It’s a truly special event!”
ALYSSA VASSALLO Elite Runner
“[The Virginia 10 Miler] is a highlight race for me every fall! The weather, the competition, and the race organization are impeccable, but what truly keeps me coming back is the outstanding welcome and kindness shown by the community. Lynchburg is a truly special place, and the Virginia Ten Miler shows it off!

“The Virginia 10 Miler is a very well-organized event with incredible crowd support that boasts a competitive field. Year after year, my wife and I are blown away by the hospitality of race management, and the volunteers that help put this event together. A must-do race for any runner!”
HARRISON TONEY
Elite Runner
“The people in Lynchburg are SO nice, and they truly rally around the race and their running community. Getting friendly waves from residents during our Friday afternoon shakeout along the James River is the best way to be welcomed.”
RALEIGH DISTANCE PROJECT
“Your race has not only the legacy status, but you and the staff have shown wonderful hospitality towards me and my athletes.”
KEITH OLSON
Elite Runner Manager
“Everything went really well, and we felt very warmly welcomed and extremely well supported. The race itself operated without a hitch, and the post-race activities were fun and very well-coordinated.“
OWEN ANDERSON
Elite Coach
“The challenge of the Lynchburg Virginia 10 Miler is not getting up and down the hills or completing the 10 miles, it is holding yourself back from using energy interacting with the crowd and volunteers along the way! It’s got to be the most cheer per square mile you can get in a road race... not to mention, you become an instant hero in the town, just because you raced in it!”

“THE CHALLENGE OF THE LYNCHBURG VIRGINIA 10 MILER IS NOT GETTING UP AND DOWN THE HILLS OR COMPLETING THE 10 MILES, IT IS HOLDING YOURSELF BACK FROM USING ENERGY INTERACTING WITH THE CROWD AND VOLUNTEERS ALONG THE WAY!”
