COMMON GOOD FORUM & THE NESI FORUM A NEW ECONOMY MOUVEMENT A New Economy Mouvement Common Good Forum is happy to partner with the network of the NESI Forum.
The so-called New Economy models (NEMs) are trying to demonstrate that other economic model is feasible. Models such as Social & Solidarity Economy, Economy for the Common Good, Sharing Economy (based on values), Circular Economy, Fair Trade, Social Enterprises, Transition Town or Degrowth are demonstrating both theoretically and practically that there are alternatives.
International Forum NESI Forum 2017 started as a Global Forum on New Economy and Social Innovation bringing together for the first time in history the main international representatives of the so-called New Economic Movements (NEMs).
NESI also organized an international forum in Malaga, Spain, in April 2017, thanks to the support of Ayuntamiento de Málaga and Diputación de Málaga, and a wide range of organizations and networks working together for a New Economy. See the speakers…
The network also worked during the whole year, and met in Brussels at the European Social and Economic Committee in 2017.
Co-creating a common narrative Despite the good intentions of the Sustainable Development Goals, we are still co122
ping with problems such as poverty, inequality or the violation of human rights. Under the current economic system new problems have arisen such as the climate change or forced migration. It is time to create a new narrative and to set up the principles of a new economy.
For all the above, our aim is to strengthen collaboration among all the NEMs and the organizations, movements and people who dream and work for a new democratic and people-oriented Economy. A Social Charter Common Good forum has contributed to the writing of the NESI Charter. The NESI Charter advocates a rights-andvalues-based economic system as the only way to eradicate global issues such as wars, forced migration and resource competition. The document has been co-created by over 600 citizens and representatives from new economy movements from all over the world. A Social Charter is not just a basic formal document. It has the power of a Soft Law. Therefore, now it is time to implement actions at global and local levels! All the partners are preparing a 2017-2018 campaign in that respect. …Stay Tune!
