Appeal Following Further Damage
fficers investigating a spate of criminal damage in Abbots Langley have reissued an appeal for witnesses and information after four more windows were smashed. The latest offences take the number of incidents since December 3 to ten, with the total damaged caused thought to be worth around £5,000. Two windows were smashed in Gallows Hill Lane between 10.40am and 11.30am on Saturday, December 13. A third window was targeted in the same street sometime
between 1pm on Wednesday, December 10 and midday on Monday, December 15. A window was also damaged in Abbots Road between 11am and 12.30pm on Friday, December 12. Previously, windows have been smashed in Gallows Hill Lane, Kindersley Way and Hazelwood Lane. The suspects have been described as three boys, aged around 14 years old. One is described as having short brown hair and was wearing grey jogging shorts and carrying a dark rucksack.
Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant for Abbots Langley, Neil Canning said: “These are completely mindless acts which have left the victims with the inconvenience of having to replace their windows at a great cost, at a time of year when money is often quite tight. “We now have a description of those we suspect to be involved and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who saw a group matching this description acting suspiciously in the area around these times to get in contact. “In the meantime officers
from the Safer Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out extra patrols in the roads affected.” Neighbouring village Kings Langley has also suffered some similar incidents around the same time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Abbots Langley Safer Neighbourhood Team via the Herts Police nonemergency number 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
