The Village recently swore in two accomplished leaders — Police Chief Robert Coliskey and Fire Chief Scott Freseman — and both are bringing decades of experience, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to keeping our community safe. With strong support from the community, Chiefs Coliskey and Freseman are leading with heart, integrity, and a clear vision for the future.
Congratulations to our new Chiefs!

Chuck Huff, Village Manager
Dear Residents of North Palm Beach:
The Village of North Palm Beach is officially kicking off the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget cycle this month. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and community involvement, we launched North Palm Beach University (NPB University) in April. This program offers residents an inside look at the operations of each Village department and how your tax dollars are put to work.
Several departments have already completed their presentations, and those sessions are now available for viewing on the Village Hub on our website. We encourage you to take a look and learn more about the important work being done throughout the Village.
Your engagement is important to us as we move through the budget process. We look forward to your input and participation in shaping the future of North Palm Beach.

The Village Country Club is offering two great summer camps!
• Junior Golf Camp at the Golf Course is perfect for young golfers ready to sharpen their swing.
• Tennis Camp at the Tennis Center offers fun drills and match play to build skills and confidence on the court.
Each camp is designed to keep kids active, engaged, and smiling all summer long. Visit www. villageofnpb.org for details.
The North Palm Beach Country Club Tennis Center recently hosted its own playful spin on the Davis Cup, bringing together regular players and friends for a day of friendly competition and international flair. Eight “countries” were represented (by locals) — USA, Italy, Ireland, Japan, France, Greece, Australia, and Spain, each picked just for fun by players and team captains.
Team USA, captained by Beth Bonato and featuring golf pro Allan, claimed first place, while Australia, led by Jack Wilson, came in second. France, led by Alan Altman, took home “Best Dressed” honors.
It was all about good vibes, friendly matches, and a common enjoyment of tennis! Plans are already in motion to make it an annual event with even more teams next year!

Commercial Dock/Seawall Work
Planning dock, lift, or seawall repairs? Please notify the office in advance. Contractors must check in at the Anchorage Park Activities building. Note: No commercial ramp use on weekends or holidays.
Thanks for helping keep our marina safe and enjoyable for everyone!

The Annual Anchorage Aweigh Fishing Tournament and Kids Fishing Derby is Saturday, Aug. 2. It's a popular Village tradition, always a lot of fun too!
Thank you for picking up after your dog
Village Code requires you to clean up after your dog when in any Village park. Please keep your dog leashed always, except while in the fenced dog park at Anchorage Park.
Let’s talk trash—literally! Keeping our Village clean, safe, and beautiful is a team effort, and it all starts at the curb.
Understanding what goes where, when to set it out, and what to avoid putting in your bins can make a big difference in keeping our solid waste system running smoothly. Here's your ultimate guide to the do's and don'ts of solid waste in North Palm Beach.
We know our Solid Waste team are everyday heroes, but even heroes have their limits. For the safety of our staff, trash cans must not exceed 32 gallons. This size keeps the load manageable for our crews and helps ensure timely service throughout the Village. Larger containers may not be collected, so please double-check your can before setting it out.
Why the 32-gallon limit? Our Solid Waste team lifts each can by hand to empty it, without the mechanical assistance that some other agencies, like SWA, use. It is up to all of us to make sure our team can safely do their job. Please help keep them safe by using the right-sized can.
In the Village, we use two bins for recycling. The blue bin, picked up on Tuesdays, is for plastic, glass, and aluminum containers like soda bottles, milk jugs, soup cans, and glass jars. The yellow bin, collected on Thursdays, is for clean, dry paper and cardboard like newspapers, magazines, cereal boxes, paper towel tubes, and shipping boxes. Always place both bins next to your home by 7:00 a.m., not out in the swale.
Do: Empty all containers before placing them in the bin. Flatten cardboard boxes to save space and help crews quickly identify that the material is clean and free of non-paper products.
Don’t: Put plastic bags, greasy pizza boxes, Styrofoam, dirty containers, or anything wet into your recycling. These items can ruin a whole batch of clean recyclables, so it’s better to leave them out.
Garbage pickup happens Village-wide on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Regular household waste like food scraps, diapers, non-recyclable packaging, worn-out clothes, and broken kitchen items belong in your trash can. Trash must be bagged, securely tied, and placed in a sturdy can with a tight-fitting lid.
Do: Always bag your trash to prevent odors, leaks, and pests. Pet waste should be placed inside a regular garbage bag, not loose in the can, even if it’s already in a smaller bag. If you’re throwing away sharp or broken items, double bag them or wrap them in newspaper to protect our crew.
Don’t: Don’t leave loose trash or items next to your can, and don’t use oversized containers. Never throw away electronics, paint, construction debris, or anything hazardous, they require special handling.
Yard waste includes grass clippings, palm fronds, leaves, branches, and shrub trimmings that you have created yourself, not landscapers or contractors. It’s collected on the same days as garbage (M, W, F). Vegetation should be placed in a neat pile, away from storm drains and bulk waste. When trimming, keep branches and fronds no longer than six feet, and stack them as neatly as possible so our crews can collect them quickly and safely.
Do: Place small branches in neat bundles, and tie palm fronds together with twine if you can. Keeping piles compact helps keep the neighborhood looking tidy and makes collection faster.
Don’t: Mix rocks, dirt, sod, or any contractor debris with your yard waste. Yard debris should always be kept separate from regular trash and bulk piles to ensure proper pickup.
Got an old couch, mattress, or broken microwave? Bulk pickup is by appointment only, every Tuesday and Thursday. Schedule your pickup online at village-npb.org/bulkpickup, and place your items curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled day. Bulk items include furniture, mattresses, rugs, patio sets, and other large household items.
Do: Schedule your pickup in advance and place bulk items neatly at the curb in a clear, accessible area, never underneath powerlines. If you're unsure where to place items safely, Public Works crews are happy to meet with you to recommend the best location.
Don’t: Don’t set items out without an appointment. Don’t block sidewalks, driveways, storm drains, or place piles under low-hanging wires. And don’t mix bulk items with yard waste or regular garbage.
For more information on the Solid Waste Division, please scan the QR code below to visit our website.
We have seen a lot out there on the pickup route, and some of it made us do a double take. Our crews work hard to keep the Village clean and safe, but we recently spotted a few surprising "treasures" in the trash that definitely do not belong there, like:
• Sealed cans of paint
• A fire extinguisher
• Loose, unbagged trash
Items like these don’t belong in your regular trash. Paint cans are only accepted if the lid is removed and all paint inside is completely dry. Wet paint or sealed cans must go to a hazardous waste facility. Fire extinguishers are also considered hazardous and need special disposal. And loose trash? Always bag it. It's safer for our crews and helps keep things clean.
If you are not sure whether something belongs in your trash can, don't guess. When in doubt, reach out. We are always happy to help!

A message from the Village Environmental Committee
Oysters play a vital role in maintaining the health of our coastal ecosystems, and their presence on seawalls offers a host of environmental benefits.
In North Palm Beach, the Environmental Committee has prioritized oyster restoration as part of its broader clean water initiative. A key element of this effort involves protecting and encouraging the natural growth of oysters on concrete seawalls and pilings, structures where oysters readily attach and thrive.
Contrary to misconceptions, oysters do not harm concrete seawalls or pilings. These filter feeders help stabilize the ecosystem by naturally cleaning the water. A single oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water per day, removing excess nutrients and improving water clarity. They also support marine biodiversity by
providing habitat for small fish, crabs, and other aquatic organisms.
Unfortunately, services that offer seawall oyster scraping pose a significant threat to these restoration efforts.
Scraping removes not only the oysters but also the progress made by community-driven environmental initiatives focused on improving water quality and ecological balance in the intracoastal waterways.
The Environmental Committee strongly encourages property owners and marine contractors in North Palm Beach to recognize the ecological value of oysters and avoid any unnecessary removal.
Preserving oysters on seawalls is a simple yet powerful way to contribute to the health and resilience of our local waters.
Thanks for joining our Earth Day fun!
All residential pickup of bulk items in the Village is done only by appointment, but you don't need to be there when our pickup crew arrives.
To schedule a bulk appointment, visit the Village website at www.villageofnpb.org, then click the link for "Trash & Bulk Pickup." Fill out the brief online form to schedule your appointment.
This applies only to bulk items, such as old furniture and appliances. Vegetative yard debris is not a bulk item and will be picked up whenever left in the swale by the property's occupant.
Vegetative debris left by for-hire landscaping crews must be removed by the company.
Debris cut by the resident or homeowner must be put in the swale, clear of powerlines, trees or other obstructions.
Please don't let your trees hang lower than 15 feet over the road
Do you have trees hanging over the road? If so, please trim them to at least 15 feet above the pavement so our fire and sanitation trucks can pass safely. Even small, low-hanging branches can damage our vehicles.
Your cooperation will help protect our fire and sanitation trucks and is greatly appreciated. If you have questions, please call (561) 691-3440.
