IT TAKES A VILLAGE We loved our 60th birthday celebrations, as they showed the incredible warmth and sense of community our loyal customers and retailers feel for The Village (see page 16). It certainly reinforced that ‘It Takes a Village’ and we do thank our customers for their support and for shopping local during 2020. As we move into the cooler months, we launch ‘It Takes a Village… to Comfort’ and we are here to provide a warm welcome during the cooler months.

SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS On 1 November last year we took significant steps towards becoming a greener village, with a new waste diversion and recycling initiative. This has been a phenomenal success, with approximately 45 tonnes of waste being diverted from landfill to date. Our cafes are taking full advantage of our coffee grounds ‘cup to crop’ recycling program, and vast amounts of organic waste, milk bottles, soft and hard plastics have also been recycled and subsequently diverted from landfill.

CELEBRATING 60 YEARS WE HAD THE BEST TIME CELEBRATING OUR 60TH B’DAY IN NOVEMBER 2020. HERE ARE A FEW MAGIC MOMENTS...

One thing was clear throughout the day; The Village has a unique heart and soul and is a place where people love to catch up and connect.

It’s a community built on our loyal customers, retailers and custodians, and ‘giving back’ was the theme of the celebrations.

We asked our community ‘What does St Ives Village mean to you?’ and were overwhelmed with over 300 fantastic responses, with local residents Linda Henderson winning the family makeover and Ariana Jacobs the room makeover.

“The Village has a unique heart and soul” We also welcomed special guests and handed out hundreds of treats and gifts in our ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ giveaway.

If you were there, thank you for celebrating with us.

St Ives is full of magnificent mums, and we want to give them the recognition they deserve with our big Mother’s Day competition.

“Our baby Nathan arrived 13 months ago and the juice bar business is only four months old,” Tony says. “Cheryl has been amazing and I nominate her because of everything she does for us both at home and at work.”
