Street repair funding flows into towns Bellwood, Broadview, Maywood to see at least $700K in grants for street improvements By MICHAEL ROMAIN & IGOR STUDENKOV Editor & Contributing Reporter
The villages of Bellwood, Broadview and Maywood each recently received significant funding and technical assistance for critical street repair projects. Broadview and Maywood were both selected to receive grant money from Cook County to fund critical infrastructure projects. The grants were awarded through the 2018 Invest In Cook program, which identifies projects within the county that align with the county’s Long Range Transportation Plan. The county granted Maywood $200,000 to help pay for roadway improvements along 19th Avenue, from Madison Street to St. Charles Road.
