Wir von Villa Gaia verarbeiten Cashmeregarne in bester Qualität von europäischen Herstellern zu einer ganz besonderen Kollektion. Diese wertvollen Garne benötigen eine sorgfältige, außergewöhnliche Verarbeitung. Deshalb haben wir uns entschieden, unsere Kollektion überwiegend auf Handstrickmaschinen zu fertigen. Eine wirklich anspruchsvolle Arbeit, denn die Bedienung der Maschinen erfordert erfahrene Stricker mit viel handwerklichem Geschick. Viele Details werden von Hand gearbeitet, wie zum Beispiel das Zu- und Abnehmen der Maschen bei Halsausschnitten, Armlöchern oder Armkugeln. Ein falscher Handgriff kann bedeuten, dass das Strickteil wieder aufgetrennt werden muss, um das wertvolle Garn nicht zu vergeuden. Das ist echtes Handwerk, S l o w w e a r statt fast fashion. Villa Gaia manufactures high-quality cashmere yarns from european spinning mills into a very special collection. Precious yarns need special handling. That is why we decided to create our collection on handknitting machines. A truly challenging work. Using these machines requires highly experienced knitters with great manual dexterity. The most important details are worked by hand such as the increasing and decreasing of loops for necklines, armholes and sleeveheads. One wrong handling could mean that the whole knitwork has to be redone, so that none of the valuable yarns are wasted. This is quality craftmanship. slow wear instead of fast fashion.
