The Land of Eternal Youth


Students have watched the presentation of the traditional Polish fairytale “The legend of the Dragon of Wawel”. They were curious to see where Krakow and the castle of Wawel is. Through this activity students: • Got familiar with maps • Learnt Poland’s capital town • Learnt about the distance between two cities on the map and in reality


Using Google Maps students found Poland on the map


Then they drew the map of Poland


They noticed a black dot on the map and we said that this is the symbol for the capital town.


Then they were asked to spot Krakow on the map too.


Students looked at the distance between Warsaw and Krakow.


They also wanted to find the castle of Wawel on the map.


They collaborated to type it.


They even tried to put a pin on the map to save the location.


They uploaded a picture of the Castle of Wawel on the map


Finally they used the projector to draw the castle on the whiteboard
