O

n Tuesday, January 8, 2013, Dr. David Greuner, a vein specialist with the Vein Centers of NYC Surgical Associates was featured on the CBS show ‘The Doctors’. During his segment, Dr. Greuner, a board certified surgeon and vein specialist, offered insight into his career and the medical advancements used to treat varicose veins. Dr. Greuner offered tips for prevention of varicose veins- especially for those who lead a sedentary lifestyle such as sitting behind a desk and those who spend the majority of their workday on their feet. “For people that sit behind a desk or stand all day, blood is pooling in your legs-it’s just gravity,” he explained as he positioned himself on the floor, feet propped up by an exercise ball. “To prevent them, elevate your legs so that your feet are higher than your heart. This returns blood to your circulation where it’s supposed to be.” Dr. Greuner will be featured in “The Doctors’ 2013 Most Beautiful Doctors” calendar for the month of August. The calendar, which is available for purchase at thebooknook.com, is being sold for $14.99, and all proceeds will be donated to The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help victims of disasters.
