The Secret is in the Heart

The Heart is the Most Sacred of All Places, Go There & Roam – Bhagavan Nityananda

1

The boundaries of the heart are not observable because they do not exist

Milky Way

The immense supercluster of galaxies (Yellow area) containing our own Milky Way is named “Laniakea,” meaning “immense heaven” in Hawaiian. Every tiny dot represents an entire galaxy and not a star!

Perhaps the unbounded Consciousness/Creative Intelligence that is the source of all manifestation can handle our lives!

2

The

Timeless, Infinite Potentiality of Love, Joy, and Freedom

In Sanskrit, "Heart of Consciousness" is called saṃviddhṛdaya — the potency by which the Universal Heart knows Itself and causes individuals to recognize themselves as That in their own heart.

3
4

The Divine is One — a dynamic dance of Śiva (Consciousness) and Śakti (energy). Śiva is unbounded Consciousness and infinite light, while Śakti is the power of that Consciousness. This autonomous freedom knows Itself as infinite awareness and manifests Itself in and as all form, including Kuṇḍalinī Śakti, the individuated expression of Itself that is us. The highest truth of nonduality is actualized when we have the direct experience of and become the lived expression of the infinite, absolute Consciousness.

5

Pārvatī asks Śiva: Oh Lord of all the gods. . . for me this unrevealed secret is difficult to understand and attain. . . I pray you will reveal it entirely to me, who is completely surrendered to you.

Śiva responds: Oh Goddess. . .the secret which you ask resides in your own very heart.

(The Yoga of Netra Tantra translated by Bettina Sharada Bäumer)

6

Until we have taken the truths and insights of the teachings into our own heart we have no basis for awakening into the hidden path the view reveals. These are the recognitions discovered by sādhakas like you and me when they turned inside and asked to know the truth.

Divine Consciousness is The Heart of it All:

The Unbounded and Universal Self

The Heart, says Abhinavagupta, is the very Self of Śiva, and of the Devī, the Goddess who is inseparable from Śiva. Indeed, the Heart is the site of their union in full embrace. This abode is pure consciousness as well as unlimited bliss. As consciousness, the Heart is the unbounded, infinite light (prakāśa) as well as the freedom (svātantrya) and self-reflective capacity (vimarśa) of that light to appear and know itself in a multitude and variety of forms.

The Heart is the Ultimate Essence. which is both utterly transcendent to and yet totally immanent in all created things.

Ortega-Muller in his book, The Triadic Heart of Siva.

9

The Light of Consciousness that Knows Itself as That

PRAKĀŚA: THE DIVINE LIGHT THAT ILLUMINATES ALL OF LIFE

VIMARŚA: THE CAPACITY OF THAT LIGHT TO KNOW ITSELF AS LIGHT

Consciousness is the Essence, the Heart of Śiva, and self-reflective awareness is Its power of knowing Itself, spontaneously emanating from Its own blissful essence. The uncovering, cultivation, and unfolding of self-reflective capacity is the essence of sādhana (spiritual practice).

10

Creation is the Autonomous Energy of the Divine

The Unbounded Light Expresses Itself as All Things

The Divine’s power perpetually resounds throughout the cosmos, the waves of impact rippling through all manifestation. The world (including you) is the expression of the joy of Being & the Will of the Divine.

11

Beautiful with the universal joy arising from essence-nature. . . saturated with the nectar of complete creative emission; vibrating eternally. . . that is the union of Śiva and Śakti. It's called Love.

Śaktipāta: The Freedom-Bestowing Power of the Divine

The Lotus of the Heart blooms due to God’s Grace

Only when the lotus of the Heart has been opened by the ‘descent of energy,’ will the truth be revealed. Not even the most acute reasoning powers in the world could produce this revelation. —Abhinavagupta - Parātriṃśikā Vivaraṇa

13

Grace

Recognition Means

The descent of Grace begins the search within the heart for God and by its intensity determines the required sadhana of the heart that brings about the realization intended by that Grace — that God dwells within you as yourself.

14

Bringing Forth the Direct Recognition of the Ineffable

The path of the Heart as it returns home begins with the wish to grow. We climb the golden stairway to the Self through effort, surrender, and an awakened awareness.

OPEN YOUR HEART, FEEL THE FLOW, SURRENDER TO THE ŚAKTI, RESIDE IN THE JOY & PLENTITUDE OF THE SELF

15

Life is Precious in its Purpose

We Are Living God’s Purpose

Ignorance of our true Self is the cause of all suffering, while the recognition and direct experience of our true identity is alone the cause of freedom. We are the embodied, living expression of the joy and love of the Divine.

16

We Don’t We Know Ourself as Consciousness — The Cause of Suffering

Being lost and trapped in the dark cave of limited understanding — in the nature of ego and thought-construct — causes us to believe we exist as a separate individual self, when in truth we are the OneSelf of all.

17

The Search for Ourselves in the Heart of God, and the Discovery of God in Our Own Heart.

Kuṇḍalinī Sādhana is the spiritual technology and force that accelerates the direct experience of energy and Consciousness. The ascent of kuṇḍalinī is the expansion of individual awareness into universal awareness — the opening of the individual heart into the Universal Heart.

18
19

Your life is perfectly and divinely offered to you as the means to fulfillment. Everything that happens in your life is part of your process of unfolding your higher nature. Every aspect, every moment, and every challenge in your life is an opportunity for freedom. This is why, every moment of your life, bow down in gratitude, reverence, and devotion to the One that is YourSelf.

20

Śakti transmission is a catalyst for profound spiritual unfoldment, culminating in realization of the Self. It arrests the mind and pierces through the veils of misunderstanding, allowing direct recognition to surge forth in the person receiving the gaze.

The transmission of a living spiritual force is a vitally important component in the awakening of empowering us to find our own liberation. There is a direct conveyance of spiritual energy from teacher to student that gives the student a concrete experience of the vital force that connects all things and binds us together as one. In engaging that power we are coming in contact with a liberating force, which we can only feel because it already exists within us.

21

This five-module course offers an in-depth journey into the Heart of Consciousness through Kuṇḍalinī Sādhana. We will explore the view of nondual tradition and the role that the means and practices play in one’s spiritual journey to becoming the lived expression of the Divine.

Our offerings focus on the liberation available through Kuṇḍalinī Sādhana — which includes śakti transmission, the integration of spiritual growth into daily life, personal guidance from Swami Khecaranatha, and engagement with a supportive community. Khecaranatha (Nathaji) emphasizes that the most important aspect of sādhana (spiritual practice) is one’s own direct experience - and that all other elements of practice, including the relationship with a teacher, are only supports in bringing about the state of liberation. The simplicity of Nathaji’s teaching is best expressed in his core message: Open your heart, surrender to the śakti, reside in the joy and fullness of Consciousness. With a mastery etched from over five decades of disciplined inner practice and selfless service, Khecaranatha is an authentic adept in the Śakti Transmission Lineage of Bhagavan Nityananda and Swami Rudrananda. Nathaji teaches from his personal experience and revelations. His study of the richness and wisdom of ancient tantric scripture provides a means to articulate the teachings of his lineage within the larger context of these powerful nondual traditions while empowering students to discover their own innate divinity.
