Into the burning flame of Consciousness offer impurities in the form of differentiation, of internal and external conceptual thought-constructs. This oblation into the fire is made through the effortless offering of surrender.

Abhinavagupta, Paramarthasa Verse 76

Surrender is the key: It is beyond letting go. It is the joyous offering of one’s self into the force of creative intelligence that manifests and sustains the entire universe. Surrender is the flawless entryway into the will of Divine Presence that is perpetually expressing its own perfection — the joy/bliss of Being. This is the state of surrender. . . this is bliss.

In the state of unconditional surrender there is no condition that can ever affect our permanent state of joy.

Those who pick apart the threads of the fabric of life weaken the fabric of creation by applying their mind to the design, because to them God’s will is not acceptable as their own. We must first surrender to the miracle of creation, then the pattern will emerge.

Life is composed of an endless variety of threads of many colors.

The need to reduce them to a certain type of design constricts the creative output.

All of the tensions put into the weaving is our limitation of God’s purpose.

SGG || Verse 29 ||

One should surrender to the true teacher, surrender everything into the wisdom teachings. 0ne should offer one’s self.

It is through the liberating power of Grace that we awaken to our own infinite potential, and that Grace often comes in the form of a relationship with a teacher/guru. Surrender what the teacher surrenders. Surrender to what the teacher surrenders to — the transforming power of śakti.

Imagine that the Goddess Kuṇḍalinī stands before you. In front of Her is a fire, its flames rising in jeweled colors. Imagine yourself before Her. Imagine your negative tendencies/misunderstandings as a cloak that covers your body/mind/awareness, causing you to act from the need to control. Peel away the cloak, and throw it into the fire. Watch it dissolve in the flames, ash rising and sweeping over you, leaving a residue of insight and understanding.

From that residue of insight and understanding look deeper to see an even more thinly-veiled cloak, which even further obscures your knowing of your true Self. Peel away the cloak, and throw it into the fire. Watch it dissolve in the flames, ash rising and sweeping over you, leaving a more luminous residue of insight and understanding. Now look deeper than that insight and understanding and see the profoundly subtle veiling cloak, the will of holding onto identity. Peel away the cloak, and throw it into the fire of awareness. Watch it dissolve in the flames, ash rising & sweeping over you, leaving a direct experience of your highest essence: The blissful experience of the state of surrender in living God’s will.
