1. Flower Ice (to make: buy edible flowers, put in an ice cube tray with filtered water and freeze)

1. Fill two burgundy-style red wine glasses with ice

2. 4 ounces tequila 3. 4 to 6 ounces Sprite Zero 4. 4 ounces margarita mix of your choice

2. In a cocktail shaker, add tequila! And margarita mix.

3. Splash in a tiny bit of grenadine. Be careful, a little grenadine goes a long way.

4. Shake together

5. Splash of grenadine 6. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry and/or a wedge of lime

5. Pour into the wine glasses. Crown with Sprite Zero (really, there is no substitute) 6. Have a sip. Adjust to taste 7. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry or lime wedge

Marbella Old Town The historic city center is usually the most interesting and beautiful place to go in a city, and Marbella could not be an exception.

A surprising and fun place with Andalusian flavor where you can breathe the essence of the most famous tourist town of the Costa del Sol. Here, you can find a typical Andalusian spot. In Marbella Old Town, a maze of narrow cobbled streets invites you to get lost. You will enjoy strolling through them in a beautiful journey full of bars and terraces while enjoying its colors and smells.

It is like a network of alleyways lined with colorful geraniums, among which we can find the most emblematic of the old town. There you can spot much of the history of this city.

The Marbella Old Town hides many secrets to be discovered, such as a vast historical and cultural heritage.

You will enjoy visiting churches, museums, chapels, castles, walls and stately homes.

Its epicenter is the Plaza de los Naranjos, where there are three important buildings such as the Casa del Corregidor, the Ermita de Santiago and the Ayuntamiento.

Another landmark of the city of Marbella is Calle Ancha, that houses the unmistakable Iglesia del Santo Cristo de la Vera Cruz, a temple of the XVI century, and the Capilla de San Juan de Dios located between Caridad and Misericorida streets.

We must also mention the Iglesia de la Virgen de los Dolores as one of the most beautiful places to visit in the old Marbellí town. This is definitely a charming journey through the history of the city.

And of course, in the square of the Church we find one of the most important buildings of Marbella as is the Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation.

A building facade emphasizes the cover of red stone, carved in baroque style dating from 1618.

A little bit about the history of Marbella Its origins date back to 1600 B.C. Although the city itself was founded by the Romans with the name of Salduba, when it was one of the cities through which passed the Via Augusta.

But it was not until the Muslim period when it begins to speak of it in writings as consolidated city, developing and fortifying the town.

The Old Town of Marbella was the old Medina with its typical Arabic infrastructure of narrow streets and a winding route.

Muslims protected the city by building a castle and a strong wall with more than 10 watchtowers with 3 doors.

Over time, the city grew beyond the limits of the walls and the towers were absorbed by the new construction.

It was with the arrival of the Catholic Monarchs in 1485 that the city suffered major changes.

The first thing they did was to demolish a large group of houses in the center of the medina to build the Plaza de los Naranjos.

It was the administrative, economic and social center of the time. Then, they reorganized the layout of some major streets and built various public and stately buildings in an attempt to outrun the Arab architectural style.

Marbella Alameda Park Located at the gates of the historic center of Marbella, we find the Alameda Park, which has become a famous landmark in the city center, a few meters from the promenade Alameda Park is a beautiful place in which marbellís and tourists gather to escape, in minutes, from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It has, as its core, a large fountain surrounded by lush vegetation, palm trees, beautiful Andalusian tile benches and shade everywhere.

It’s a real pleasure finding this oasis of peace in the heart of Marbella, full of lush vegetation and a beautiful garden to stroll and hear the birds singing while chatting with friends or just sitting on a bench to read a book.

This is a relatively small but charming park, which all Marbella locals are proud of. Formerly it occupied an area of over 20,000m2.

Unfortunately, with the passage of time, this area has been reduced due to the high demand for building land.

What to see near Alameda Park in Marbella?

From one of the entrances of the park we can take the famous Avenida del Mar that leads directly to the promenade of Marbella.

If we visit the Alameda Park Marbella, worth a stroll through this beautiful pedestrian Avenida decorated with marble, wood pergolas and benches where surprisingly we find a series of sculptures made by none Salvador Dalí.

It is 10 bronze sculptures called, naked woman climbing a staircase; Horse with people stumbling; Mercury; Perseus; Don Quixote seated; Gala gravid; Gala at the window; Trajan on horseback; Cosmic Man on dolphin and elephant.

Definitely a pleasant walk that will take us directly to Mediterranean.

In the surrounding area, you will find many bars, restaurants and terraces with a fabulous atmosphere. A truly relaxing oasis of peace and serenity.

Marbella Beaches This beautiful town has 27 km of coastline dotted with 24 beautiful beaches around its coastline.

It is characterized by their long tongues of fine sand and calm waters.

It features a wide variety of beaches.

From long wild beaches with dune systems such as the Playa Real de Zaragoza, to centric beaches including services and of course, glamorous beaches with luxurious beach bars and nightclubs where you can enjoy the days and nights of Marbella, such as the Nikki Beach or Bounty Beach.

Playa de la Fontanilla The nicest of Marbella's inner city beaches, Playa de la Fontanilla is within easy walking distance from the centre of Marbella and is a popular destination for those looking to soak up some Spanish sun.

The beach has everything on its doorstep. Plenty of bars, restaurants and activities. Public amenities include showers, toilets and lifeguards. The Paseo marítimo - promenade - also has a number of kiosks, bars and restaurants.

Playa Real de Zaragoza Playa Nagueles A gem of fine golden sands, clear waters and extensive dunes that make the Playa Real de Zaragoza the great jewel of the Marbellí coast.

The beach is located about 12km from the center of Marbella and is large and far enough to ensure peace and tranquility on the Mediterranean coast.

It is away from the large crowds of other parts of it. To discover its natural surroundings, there’s nothing better than taking a stroll along the paths that cross the dunes to reach the beach.

Real Zaragoza beach is an oasis of tranquility in the middle of summer.

They don't come much more exclusive than Playa Nagüeles, situated on Marbella's Golden Mile, Playa de Nagueles is somewhere that needs to be seen.

With clear waters, clean sandy beaches, the surrounding area offers all the amenities, from luxury yacht rentals to parasols. Eating can be expensive in this area.

There are, however, numerous kiosks along the Paseo Maritimo that offer a cheaper alternative for snacks and water. One popular activity is cycling along the promenade, many of the bar/restaurants offer bike rentals. One of the finest beaches around.

Marbella Schools Marbella is well known for its quality of education, for all ages. Below is a small selection of the best schools in and around Marbella, some of which our previous happy clients have used for their children.

Laude International School Laude International is a private school in Marbella located just a short way from the beach with a specially built campus including a football pitch, tennis courts and indoor gym.

It is home to over 700 students from 3-18 years and offers a British Curriculum: International Primary Curriculum, GCSEs and A-Levels, as well as the Spanish equivalent of ESO and Baccalaureate (which becomes an option from the age of 12).

Aloha College This college boasts an impressive campus resembling a small town.

Located near Aloha Golf Club in Nueva Andalucia, it is a carefully planned development, improved and expanded over 35 years.

In addition to the Science and Arts blocks at Aloha and the library/ resources area, the Aloha campus includes the recent upgrade to the sports facilities: a new football pitch, certified by FIFA in 2012 and additional 2000m2 sports area that includes a gym and a stage.

This private school in Marbella focuses on social skills and communication as well as conflict resolution, developing these skills through group activities such as its debating team, young artists competition, Science and Maths week and World Book Day.

The campus has 14 classrooms for the primary school and additional specialized classrooms (or suites) for secondary, where classes include no more than 20 students.

Special sporting events are also used to fire up team spirit and help students take a healthy view on competition.

The best Marbella BEACH CLUBS

Nikki Beach ELVIRIA

Located on one of Marbella's finest sandy beaches, Nikki Beach has an open-air restaurant, large pool and stylish sun loungers. The layout and sophisticated decoration of this beach club implies an ambiance of elegance and class.

Nikki Beach Marbella offers the full VIP experience from sun loungers to the terrace alongside resident and worldclass DJ’s.

Opening at the end of April through until September, this club is famous for its themed parties and spectacular views of the Mediterranean.

How Much Will It Cost?

With the coolest crowds and hottest parties, it is free to get into Nikki Beach and once inside sunbeds can range from €50 to €100+. The globally designed menu is not cheap but there is a lot to choose from and is famous for its sushi and caviar selection.

‘Nikki at night’ starts with an initial entry fee and drinks are expensive. Many people choose to visit the beach club in groups, reserve a table with a bottle and split the cost.

What Is The Dress Code?

The dress code at Nikki beach depends on the day and time you go as well as the event you attend. In the day the style depicts a more relaxed beachy feel, with many guests lounging in swim wear. Flashes of diamonds, perfectly blow-dried hair and plenty of designer items will also be on display.

At night a strict, sophisticated dress code is enforced and men will not be allowed to enter in tank tops, as is the case at many of the Marbella beach clubs.

La Cabane LOS MONTEROS

As the first top beach club in Marbella and on the Costa del Sol, La Cabane is one of the most elegant and exclusive destinations along this coastline. Set on the beach with panoramic views of the Mediterranean this beach club boasts royal clientele.

In April, May and October, La Cabane opens on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During the summer months, the beach club is open daily for an unforgettable day of luxury.

How Much Will It Cost?

Sun loungers with a parasol start from €35 per person which includes a fruit skewer and a personalized service. The VIP experience for two is €190 which includes a bottle of Champagne, fresh fruit, towels and a personal service.

The famous ‘Grand Buffet La Cabane’ is €88 per person, with more than 60 fresh fish products to choose from, they also serve paella and rice dishes cooked to your taste.

What Is The Dress Code?

The dress code at this Marbella beach club is glamorous and chic. With direct access to the beach and the option of hammocks and sunbeds, swim wear is perfect for sunbathing by the pool, but it may be more appropriate to wear a cover-up in the restaurant and at the buffet.

Ocean Beach Club PUERTO BANUS

Located next to the Puerto Banus promenade, Ocean Beach Marbella is one of Europe's largest and best beach clubs, offering some of the best nightlife in Marbella. With an extensive menu, Amai by OC offers some of the best national cuisine from the Costa del Sol. Prices for a sandwich start from €24 and the menu is not cheap, however, Amai provides a fine dining experience overlooking the Mediterranean sea.

Amare Beach

Located next to the designer boutiques on Puerto Banus there will be no shortage of people displaying their love for high-end brands. Men are required to wear tops on admission as well as when they are leaving the venue, with football shirts being strictly prohibited. All guests must also wear appropriate footwear.

MARBELLA

Located on the beachfront near the old town of Marbella, Amàre Beach Club is the ideal chill-out destination for an afternoon and evening in the sun. This venue has a reputation for being one of the most tasteful and nicest beach clubs in Marbella. As an adult-only venue, set on a private beach, enjoy the classic combination of sun, sea, sand and champagne.

Inspired by Thailand, enjoy Thai cuisine, take a dip in the pool, or sip a cocktail in the hot tub. During the weekends the beach club has a livelier scene with top DJs playing throughout the day.

This club hosts weekly events from Fruitilicious Thursdays to Sun-kissed Sundays and is also famous for various parties throughout the year, such as the white and gold party and the Kiss FM pool party. Entry into this top Marbella beach club is free but you must rent a sunbed to use the pool. Mamzel is what we like to call a 'show' restaurant. Combining effortlessly a mixture of great food and great entertainment, Mamzel caters to its guests with live singing and dancing.

At night the DJ starts and you can relax in one of Marbella's best (or worst) kept secrets.

La Plage Casanis

One of the best restaurants in Marbella, OCCO serves excellent Lebanese food.
