Educational Leadership Concentrations: Higher Education Administration | Culturally Responsive Leadership | Leadership Studies

Higher Education Administration This concentration is designed to prepare students and working professionals to become leaders in postsecondary settings. Students will learn to lead in areas such as academic advising, athletics, residential life, and enrollment services.

The curriculum includes content related to higher education law and funding, leadership and management skills, and a focus on the need for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion of all stakeholders.

Culturally Responsive Leadership This concentration is designed to prepare school, community and organizational leaders with foundational theory, research and skills related to culturally responsive and community-based leadership.

Curriculum will focus on leadership and understanding and mitigating power imbalances related to race, ethnicity, culture and/or class, as well as establishing policies and practices that nurture an anti-racist organizational climate.

Leadership Studies Coursework comprised of 50% electives means a crossdisciplinary program tailored for every student This concentration is offered for leaders interested in a myriad of organizational leadership roles related to education. Opportunity for 15 credits of electives, which comprises half of the total program, allows students individualized attention to their specific leadership content area.
