A WORD WITH THE CHAIRMAN
As we begin the New Year, and on behalf of the Committee, I would like to provide you with an overview of 2021 and an update of proposed events for 2022. It has certainly been action-packed both on and off the field since the inception of our new Committee in June 2021.

The Vauxhall Motors FC Committee are dedicated and focussed on providing the best possible experiences for our children, parents, coaches, managers, volunteers, supporters, and sponsors. We are very proud to be a Club that is part of the local community, and our motivation is to serve our members and the community in the best possible way.
Since taking on the Chairmanship, the newly formed Committee has worked tirelessly to improve the structure and support of the Club. Notable achievements include the introduction of new sponsorship opportunities and the organisation of fundraising events such as a Sportsman’s Dinner and more recently the Christmas Cup competition for U7 – U12 players. We are currently reviewing new events for the coming year with a Girls Football Tournament, Summer Tournament, Sportspersons Dinner, and all of the age group end of season awards being considered. We are continually on the look-out for additional volunteers to support with these activities and would appreciate further members of our Events Team. If you can possibly spare some time to help out please do not hesitate to contact me. 2021 was also tinged with great sadness as we lost our long serving Senior Vice Chairman, Alan Bartlam, following his long battle with cancer. Alan has been greatly missed but we will endeavour to continue the sterling work that he had established throughout his time at the Club.
We would like to send our best wishes to Tony Woodley, Len Jones, and Carole Paisey who have all encountered health challenges recently. The work these people do for our Club is invaluable and we hope to see them back with us soon. On the field our First Team, managed by Mick McGraa, finally won the promotion to the Northwest Counties Premier Division that was so richly deserving of their performances. Life in the Premier Division was always going to be a challenge and after a good pre-season we were ready to compete. This promotion has always been centred around “finding our feet” and we firmly believe that with our recent results, new signings and players coming back from injury we will have a strong second half of the season. This should provide us with the platform to mount a serious challenge for a top position within the Premier Division next season.
