AVB Bank Honored by Governor Mary Fallin The Broken Arrow-based community bank was honored with the Business in the Arts Award during the annual Governor’s Arts Awards for their commitment to enhancing the cultural environment of our state. By Kelli Sowell The 37th annual Governor’s Arts Awards were held November 8, 2012, and Broken Arrow’s AVB Bank was honored with the prestigious Business in the Arts Award. The Governor’s Arts Awards is an annual event recognizing individuals and organizations whose efforts have impacted the arts in their communities or throughout the state. First awarded in 1975, the awards are presented by the governor during a special ceremony at the Oklahoma State Capitol. In a letter to AVB Bank, Governor Mary Fallin wrote: “Thank you…for supporting the arts and for making contributions that have enriched and enhanced the cultural environment of our state!” “For generations, AVB
Bank has continually been dedicated to supporting and promoting art education, programs and initiatives, as well as Oklahoma artists and art,” said Kelley Rash, AVB Bank chairperson of the board. “AVB is honored to be recognized by the Oklahoma Arts Council and The Honorable Mary Fallin for our many years of dedication to enhancing the arts in the Broken Arrow community.” “AVB Bank’s mission is to serve, connect, and succeed together.
