To all our readers we hope may all have a fantiastic summer and may the summer and all the toursists bring a lot of business to our costumers. Mazarrón town hall has finallly done something good for all business people here and got themselves an agreement with an aircraft company which hopefully will mean a lots of tourism in the future which is very much needed for the area, but you can read more about that on page 18. SUN PROTECTION Sunscreen (also commonly known as sunblock, sun screen, sunburn cream, sun cream or block out and sometimes erroneously called suntan lotion) is a lotion, spray, gel or other topical product that absorbs or reflects some of the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation on the skin exposed to sunlight and thus helps protect against sunburn. Skin-lightening products have sunscreen to protect lightened skin because light skin is more susceptible to sun damage than darker skin. A number of sunscreens have tanning powder to help the skin to darken or tan; however, tanning powder does not provide protection from UV rays. Depending on the mode of action sunscreens can be classified into physical sunscreens (i.e., those that reflect the sunlight) or chemical sunscreens (i.e., those that absorb the UV light). Although sunscreen is sometimes called "indoor tanning lotion", the latter is different in that it is used to intensify UV rays whereas the former is used to block UV rays.
Medical organizations such as the American Cancer Society recommend the use of sunscreen because it aids in the prevention of developing squamous cell carcinomas and basal-cell carcinomas. Many sunscreens do not block UVA radiation, which does not cause sunburn but can increase the rate of melanoma, another kind of skin cancer, and photodermatitis, so people using sunscreens may be exposed to high UVA levels without realizing it. The use of broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreens can address this concern. Diligent use of sunscreen can also slow or temporarily prevent the development of wrinkles and sagging skin. The sun protection factor of a sunscreen is a laboratory measure of the effectiveness of sunscreen — the higher the SPF, the more protection a sunscreen offers against UV-B (the ultraviolet radiation that causes sunburn). SUN PROTECTION The SPF is the amount of UV radiation required to cause sunburn on skin with the sunscreen on, as a multiple of the amount required without the sunscreen. There is a popular oversimplification of how SPF determines how long one can stay in the sun. For example, many users believe that, if they normally get sunburn in one hour, then an SPF 15 sunscreen allows them to stay in the sun fifteen hours (i.e. fifteen times longer) without getting sunburn. This would be true if the intensity of UV radiation were the same for the whole fifteen hours as in the one hour, but this is not normally the case. Intensity of solar radiation varies considerably with time of day. During early morning and late afternoon, the sun's radiation intensity is highly diminished since it must pass through more of the Earth's atmosphere while it is near the horizon In practice, the protection from a particular sunscreen depends, besides on SPF, on factors such as: -The skin type of the user. -The amount applied and frequency of re-application. -Activities in which one engages (for example, swimming leads to a loss of sunscreen from the skin). -Amount of sunscreen the skin has absorbed. A 2013 study concluded that the diligent, everyday application of sunscreen can slow or temporarily prevent the development of wrinkles and sagging skin. The study involved 900 white people in Australia and required some of them to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day for four and a half years. It found that people who did so had noticeably more resilient and smoother skin than those assigned to continue their usual practices

The Town Hall promotes a new campaign of tourist promotion of Mazarrón in the publication of the airline company
The council of Tourism of the Town Hall of Mazarrón has undertaken an important campaing of tourist promotion that flies on board the planes of the airline company “Easy Jet”. This campaing has been presented by the Mayor, Ginés Campillo, the council of Tourism, María Celeste Soria, and the Account Manager of “Easy Jet”, Germán Marín, who came expressly to Mazarrón to make the presentation and have a meeting with the different businessmen of the town who also were interested in this kind of promotion.
Under the new motto “Mazarrón Mar y Más”, the campaing has appeared in the magazines of March, April and May of the airline company with images that have showed from the beaches of the town until its seabeds, also its monuments and historical and cultural spaces, archaeological sites and also its services. As stated María Celeste Soria, “the publication is potentially seen by 6,3 million of travelers in the 183 planes that has the airline company, which covers 634 routes between 34 countriesof Europe and North Africa”. Among them, include the16 destinations of San Javier and Alicante with Great Britain. Germán Marín of “Easy Jet” explained that “the Town Hall of Mazarrón has been able to focus this campaign of tourist promotion, making a design very elaborated and of high quality that has given as result that in the promotion have place the beaches, the gastronomy, the culture, the services, the

Ginés Campillo and the painter of Blanca sign an agreement to promote the Culture
Ginés Campillo, Mayor of Mazarrón, and Pedro Cano, the painter of Murcia in active more international, have signed an agreement of collaboration between the Town Hall of Mazarrón and the foundation of the artist of Blanca, to “promote the culture in the town”, has said the first council who has been supported by the words of Pedro Cano, who has explained that “after the success of the exhibition that we promoted with occasion of the 440 Anniversary of the Independence of Mazarrón, we value the opportunity to continue promoting the art and the culture through my foundation. Thanks to the agreement the town hall of Mazarrón and the Foundation “Pedro Cano” will carry out training courses for students and teachers, collaborations in cultural activities of the town such as outdoor contest of paint “Domingo Valdivieso”, the realization of at least one yearly activity in which has initiatives related with art or, among many others, celebration of exhibitions in the Foundation placed in Blanca of local artists of Mazarrón. In this last sense, Cano has pointed to the “Grupo Almagra” as one of these local referens that will have place in the foundation. Also, the painter of Blanca felt satisfied and excited with the signature of this agreement because “the Culture does not only exist in the big cities and in the big centers, but it is a human need and humans are everywhere”.

Cano has invited to all the citizens of Mazarrón to visit his foundation in Blanca, where has explained that is showed the exhibition of “Identidad del Tránsito”, agendas whose pages varies according of the month and the day that we are, a retrospective of his work since the 11 years entitled “Vivir pintando”, or whole floor dedicated to the paper world where are his delicious travel notebooks, 54 in total.
