SALE TERMS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The terms of this sale are governed by the laws of the state of Texas. Any amendments or updates, as posted on v8ranch.com or dvauction. com, supersede the contents of this catalog. Upon the conclusion of the auction, a separate sales agreement, including any additional terms, will be sent to the buyer for signature.

VIDEO PRESENTATION

Each lot is featured in a video, available for viewing on dvauction.com, providing a comprehensive visual of what's on offer. The video also includes a commentary on each heifer to offer additional insights into their characteristics and potential.

PAYMENT AND TRANSFER

The accepted forms of payment include cash, check, or bank wire. Payment is required upon receipt and must be settled before any animals are transferred from V8 Ranch. Upon receipt of full payment, registration papers will be transferred to the buyer. Failure to complete payment within 14 days of purchase can result in forfeiture of the animal, which may then be sold to another buyer upon written or electronic notice.

FEEDING TERMS

The heifers are currently housed in our show barn, and fitting charges of $25/head/day begin immediately. If the new owner chooses to transfer their heifer into our development program, complimentary feed will be provided until August 12, 2025. Beginning August 12, 2025, a tiered feed charge will apply: $10/head/ day for days 1–30, $15/head/day for days 31–60, and $20/head/day for any days beyond 60. These charges reflect the increasing cost of care and management as cattle remain in our pens long-term. Veterinary expenses will be the responsibility of the owner. All accounts will be billed monthly, and feed charges must be settled in full before cattle are picked up.

HEIFER VIEWING

Currently, the cattle are halter-broke at our show barn and are available for in-person inspection by appointment.

HEALTH

The cattle are eligible for an approved state health certificate for interstate shipment within the USA. Buyers are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the health requirements for their respective states. The animals have been meticulously cared for and have been vaccinated under the guidance of our veterinarian. They are presumed healthy at the time of sale. However, no guarantees are provided for health requirements for exports outside the USA.

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

The buyer assumes immediate ownership and all associated risks, including injury, disease, or death, at the conclusion of the online auction. Insurance coverage is mandatory for any animal in our care. This coverage is available through Shelia Jensen of Jensen Livestock Agency, who can be reached at 785-374-4372.

FEMALE GUARANTEE

All females in this sale under two years of age are sold with a veterinary certification of health and soundness, available upon request. These heifers are guaranteed to be natural breeders for one natural calf. This guarantee does not serve as an all-encompassing insurance policy and does not cover injury, death, poor management, or nutritional deficiencies. The guarantee is void if the heifer is not maintained in a suitable body condition score to breed, if she is flushed or IVF’d before producing a natural calf, or if she is exhibited at livestock shows. Any breeding concerns must be reported to V8 Ranch by August 1, 2027. In the event of a reported issue, the buyer must return the animal to V8 Ranch, and we will have a six-month period to evaluate her breeding capability. If she is determined to be a non-breeder, the buyer will be offered either a suitable replacement or a sale credit toward future purchases. No cash refunds will be given. Donor Cow Exception: The donor cow offered in this sale as Lot 2 is being sold open with no guarantee of future production, whether by natural breeding, embryo transfer, or IVF. No further guarantees are expressed or implied.

EMBRYO FLUSH

For the heifers selling, V8 Ranch retains the right, though may not exercise this right, to perform one embryo flush at the buyer's convenience, yielding a minimum of six grade one transferrable embryos. All costs associated with the embryo flush will be covered by V8 Ranch. All embryos obtained from V8 Ranch's flush will remain the sole property of V8 Ranch and are not for sale. Furthermore, V8 Ranch retains ownership of all DNA cell lines of animals sold in this sale.

HALF-INTEREST LOTS

Lots offering half-interest are subject to a specific sales agreement that details the partnership between the new buyer and V8 Ranch. Potential buyers interested in purchasing a half-interest female are encouraged to contact us before the sale. We will provide a copy of the partnership agreement for your review before any bidding or purchasing takes place. Open communication is paramount to us, and we strive for a successful and mutually beneficial partnership.

A VISION OF MATERNAL EXCELLENCE:

COWS BUILT THIS

Step back to 1944: Howard Parker, a Ford dealer from Center, Texas, founded V8 Ranch, named after the famous V8 engine. A novice in cattle ranching, he started with 40 females from Marshall Johnson and pioneered a unique selection method. Parker chose the 40 fattest calves and matched them with their mothers, laying a foundation for a cowherd rooted in the power of the female.

Parker’s dedication to phenotypic excellence never wavered, but as his eyesight declined, he insisted on passing the torch to those who could uphold his standards. In 1971, the Williams family took the reigns, continuing to breed Brahman cattle that embody a vision of performance and superior phenotype. Today, the V8 brand stands as a testament to these ideals, a mark of excellence in Brahman cattle for over 80 years.

WHAT ENDURES:

COW FAMILIES, CONSISTENCY, AND THE MAGIC THAT MADE US

DEAR FRIENDS AND V8 COLLECTORS,

Welcome to Made for Magic XI, where our commitment to offering the very best of V8 continues — steady, focused, and true. In a season when the Brahman world can feel noisy or uncertain, we’ve kept our attention where it belongs: on the cattle, on the cow families, and on the long view. Around our kitchen table, that’s still the conversation — what matings are working, which daughters are rising, and how we can keep pushing our program forward.

This year’s sale marks another exciting chapter for Made for Magic. For the first time in history, we’re offering a mature donor cow straight out of our embryo program and from one of the most influential female lines on the ranch.

She’s the kind of donor people have asked us to sell for years, and her inclusion makes this sale a milestone.

The offering also includes direct daughters of breed legends +Mr. V8 146/8 “Sloan” and +Mr. V8 380/6, two polled/scurred heifers, and the debut of our first Made for Magic heifer by NCC

Municipal (PS) — a sire we’ve quickly moved into heavy rotation. You’ll also find heifers from cow families like +Miss V8 165/4, +Miss V8 495/5 “Rose”, and +Miss V8 410/6—females who have shaped not just our herd, but the breed.

While we’re proud of the headliners, we’re just as excited about the depth. Past buyers know: some of the greatest returns have come from the quiet picks: those that just kept getting better with time. That’s what this sale is built on. Quality that lasts. Cattle that prove themselves. Opportunities for good buys that exist, even in a high-profile offering.

Made for Magic remains the only sale of its kind in the Brahman breed, and we take that responsibility seriously. We’ll keep putting our best ones in — every time — and we’re grateful to those of you who continue to believe in what we’re building.

Thank you for your trust and for joining us again for Made for Magic. We can’t wait to see where these cattle go next.

FOR THE LOVE OF BRAHMAN,

Miss V8 2/0

What a great way to kick off this Made for Magic sale — with a heifer who was too young for our last sale but now steps into that Lot 1 spot that always seems to be something special. She’s a V8 Superblend, a combination of two of our cow families. Sired by +Mr. V8 146/8 “Sloan” and out of a full sister to National Champion +Mr. V8 322/8, her pedigree is as strong as any at V8. You might start with the pedigree and think, “She has to be special.” Then you’ll see the video and know you were right. Either way, the paper and the picture tell the same story: quality, through and through.

Her dam, Miss V8 796/8, was a high-value donor in her prime when we lost her unexpectedly last year. In just a couple of years in ET production, she averaged $33,767 on seven progeny, with cattle sold in the U.S., Ecuador, the Philippines, and Angola. Though her donor career was short, her global footprint—and this, her second Made for Magic daughter — speaks to the legacy she leaves behind.

Her sire, Sloan, needs no introduction to those who follow the Brahman breed — but here’s the short version: the only bull to win Houston three times and the most dominant sire in modern V8 history. We’re far enough into Sloan’s production now to say confidently that his daughters are home runs. They have beautiful udders and are better milkers than the generations before them.

Rounding out the package, her EPDs rank in the top 25% or better for six traits. Miss V8 2/0 is long-bodied and deep-sided, with a soft, feminine look and a powerful hip and hindquarter. She’s a three-dimensional female with balance, substance, and eye appeal. Her color brings versatility for both grey and red programs — and if you’re going red, it’d be hard to build a stronger grey foundation than Sloan x 380. Help yourself to a heifer who, being a little older, is just that much closer to donor days.

If you asked Jim Williams to name his top three all-time favorite cows on the ranch, chances are he’d include +Miss V8 495/5. In fact, it was Jim who nicknamed her “Rose” because of her enviable, red-tinted coat. Born and raised on the V8 Ranch, she was indeed the rose of Boling, Texas for her entire life; everyone agreed she was the loveliest cow on the ranch. Rose passed away in the summer of 2012. Today, when we see her red-tinged great-granddaughter, +Miss V8 33/8, in the front pasture, we can’t help but remember Rose.

2 Miss V8 478/8

“I wish you’d sell me a donor cow.” If we had a dime for every time we’ve heard that. For the past six years at V8, the answer was always the same: we don’t sell donor cows. But the truth is, we do—we just sell them early, as young heifers in our Made for Magic sales or private treaty pens. It’s a long game for V8 collectors who know what they’re looking for.

When we bought our Shorthorn heifer last fall, we noticed the Cates family often sold the donor cow alongside her daughters—and it clicked. What a smart, generous way to do business. It gives others the chance to build with proven tools, not just potential. So, we’re taking a page from that playbook and doing something new: offering a mature donor cow, straight from our embryo program, in a Made for Magic sale.

Her dam, +Miss V8 997/6, is the mother of +Mr. V8 933/7 “Yeti” and our Bull of the Year, Mr. V8 316/8. If you know V8 females, that maternal line (+997/6, +58/6, +73/5, +165/4) is about as good as it gets. +997/6 has more replacement females in our herd than any other donor. In this sale, she’s the dam of this cow and the maternal granddam of two others. All trace back to +Miss V8 165/4—our most numerous cow family—with five National or International Champions to its name.

Miss V8 478/8 has been a staple in our front pasture—big, powerful, and close to a ton. She’s been a prolific embryo producer, just like her dam, who lived to 15 and was still producing embryos until her final month. This cow family is known for fertility, longevity, and consistency—the kind that sticks around and pays you back. And if you’re a numbers person, her EPDs are simply astounding.

We wouldn’t offer a cow in this sale if we didn’t believe in her future. She sells in her entirety, but we’ll retain multiple-owner status with ABBA to register the embryos we currently have in the pipeline.

2A Miss V8 55/0 (S)

Coming from the most fertile tribe of cattle on our ranch, Miss V8 55/0 (S) checks all the boxes for donor potential. Her pedigree is a blueprint for maternal predictability, and her phenotype backs it up. She’s soft and feminine, tidy and balanced from every angle, and moves with ease. She was born weighing just 40 pounds — tiny by any standard — but don’t let that fool you. Our Made for Magic selection process is old school: we ride through the pasture and pick the best-looking heifers. It’s rare for one born that small to rise to the top, but she did — and she keeps climbing. She came small, came on strong, and she’s still gaining steam.

There’s no question Municipal is on the rise. For those new to V8, NCC Municipal (PS) is an Australian-bred sire we purchased to anchor our polled program. He bred even better than expected, and earned his place here, horns or not.

In our current ET program, he’s our #2 most-used sire – behind Sloan and ahead of 380. That should tell you where our heads are. If you were hesitant to get in on the Municipal moment, just watch what’s coming, not only here, but across top herds in the U.S. The feedback is clear: “We love this bull.”

When bred to V8 females, Municipal keeps the look we’re known for, with an extra shot of muscle and shape from his International Champion sire JDH Clanton Manso (and grandsire (+)JDH Woodson) and a powerhouse polled cow line from Australia, the Philenes.

THE ONES THAT RISE:

the made for magic heifers

There’s a certain lore to a Made for Magic heifer. She carries the weight of a name, the strength of a cow family, and a future shaped by generations of thoughtful breeding. In the Brahman breed, she brings instant recognition, marketing momentum, and credibility to any program. This is the same sale that has produced multiple National Champions — females who rose from these pages to stand at the top of the breed. These are the daughters of cow families that have anchored our herd and continue to elevate others. To own one is to claim your place in a legacy that’s still growing.

In the Brahman world, owning a Made for Magic heifer means something — and always will.

Dam of Lot 2A

3 Miss V8 57/0

Luxury phenotype with all the bells and whistles. Miss V8 57/0 is tremendous from the profile — balanced, proportional, and smooth. But she’s more than just pretty. She’s got the rib shape, muscle, and breed character it takes — just like her dam.

We always get excited when we have a female worthy of being bred to the legend himself, +Mr. V8 380/6 — the machine that keeps on delivering. With his semen getting rarer by the day, we reserve it for only the most deserving females. Her dam, Miss V8 277/9, was one of them.

A star from Sloan’s very first calf crop, 277/9 was a daughter of +Miss V8 463/7, the Reserve National Champion calf in 2011 under Pasquale Swaner, and from the +Miss V8 410/6 cow family. She reminded us so much of that original matriarch — a modern echo of a timeless legend. In the show ring, she was dominant: Grand Champion at Heart of Texas, Cattlemen’s Congress, and San Antonio, where she was also named Supreme Champion American. She was a class winner at the National Show her first time out.

Tragically, she passed away just as her donor career was beginning. But her early calves told us all we needed to know. We made a bold decision: she would become the first V8 female ever cloned. The clone is coming, but this one is straight from the source.

Females like 57/0 are why we love breeding to +Mr. V8 380/6. It’s hard to make one more balanced. Direct daughters of “The Machine” are nearly impossible to come by now — his semen is off the market — and in our (admittedly biased) opinion, they’re the crown jewels of any program. Many top breeders in the world agree. They bring a look that’s unmistakably V8, paired with EPDs that only sweeten the deal.

If I were building a donor pen today, she’d be one of the first I’d pick. All signs point to her being a cow that will be impressive her entire life.

V8 61/0

Style, style, style! Sired by Sloan, but stamped by 380 — she carries the look of her maternal grandsire: gorgeous pigment, refined lines, and that unmistakable V8 presence.

And just as she should. Her dam, Ms. Bonchasse 457/9, is a daughter of +Mr. V8 380/6 and out of the famous +JDH Lady Murile Manso cow. The Murile cow is known as the dam of one of the most successful show females, JDH Lady Babette Manso 486/4 , a National and International Champion and Show Cow of the Year. When 457/9 sold in a Bonchasse sale, she was our pick to add to the herd and inject another 380 daughter (because, why not?) and bring in that powerful outcross JDH female line.

Miss V8 61/0’s sire, +Mr. V8 146/8 “Sloan,” is the three-time Houston Champion who entered the Register of Renown at just five years old — one of the youngest bulls in history to do so. His dominance is undeniable, with direct progeny sales here at V8 totaling over $4.7 million. But beyond the banners and the buzz, Sloan is proving to be an outstanding sire of females. His daughters are known for their ideal udders, good dispositions, and consistent milk production. These are cows that quietly earn your respect over time. Because of Sloan’s $25,000/unit semen price, his use has remained highly limited and focused, primarily within the V8 program, which makes females like this one all the more special.

Miss V8 66/0 is going to catch your eye — she’s got as much muscle as you’d want in a female, with depth of body, fleshing ability, and sound structure in an attractive, moderate frame. She carries an incredible amount of natural thickness down her top and out of her hip, and she’s heavyboned and structured without sacrificing femininity. It’s hard to get this much shape in a package this pretty.

She’s a daughter of the breed’s only three-time International Champion, +Mr. V8 146/8 “Sloan,” and shows his stamp clearly: depth, power, and mass, all in a clean and correct design. Her EPDs land her in the top 20% or better for nine traits — especially strong in carcass — and she’s a perfect example of why Sloan continues to be our most-used sire at V8. The anticipation for his offspring was high, and they’ve delivered. Now that his daughters are in production, they’re proving even more valuable. A Sloan in your herd is a mark of distinction.

Her dam, JDH Lady Manso 106/1, caught our attention the first time we saw her across the fence in a pasture in Hungerford. She wasn’t for sale, but we believed in her potential and convinced J.D. Hudgins, Inc. to part with her. This is the second Made for Magic female from this exact mating. We also retained a full sister, Miss V8 498/9, who had a successful show career and now serves as a donor. But 66/0 may be the best yet, a clear sign that this cross is hitting it out of the park.

Miss V8 68/0 (S)

I love it when a plan comes together—and that’s exactly what we have here: the living result of a big dream we set in motion years ago. That dream centered on Miss HMC Polled 129/1 (PP), known as “Lily.” After a long search for what we felt was the best homozygous polled female in the country, we found her. Full transparency: it wasn’t easy convincing Hondo and Caroline Martinez to let her go. Lily represented a dream for them too. But eventually, they agreed to sell her, and she became a partnership project between Jim and Knox. Their vision? Simple: breed Lily to top V8 sires and build a powerhouse polled program. Naturally, the first sire we chose was +Mr. V8 380/6. Direct daughters of 380 are getting hard to come by, and their value only grows with time. The number of high sellers and champions carrying a shot of 380 blood is staggering. This year, every horse in the 2025 Kentucky Derby traced back to Secretariat. At the 2025 International Brahman Show, all four grey champions traced back to +Mr. V8 380/6. He’s our family’s Secretariat. His influence is woven into the fabric of this breed, and we’re proud to say he was bred, owned, and loved right here.

This polled/scurred female is exactly what we hoped for when we made that mating. From her dam, she gets depth, dimension, and fleshing ability. From her sire, she brings the refined look and elegance that 380 daughters are known for. And as a bonus, she’s got a sweet, gentle nature that makes her a joy to work with — something we value more and more every day. Selfishly, we’d love to keep this one. But then I think — what if Hondo and Caroline had done that with Lily? There’s real joy in seeing your dreams live on in pastures across the breed. And that sense of pride far outweighs any instinct to keep the best ones all to ourselves.

MISS HMC POLLED 129/1 (PP) ‘‘LILY ‘‘ Dam of Lot 6

Miss V8 76/0

Miss V8 76/0 has all the style to stand out in the show ring, but more importantly, she’s built right. Power, depth, and balance — without giving up femininity or soundness. From the side or in motion, she has elegance and refinement. And when she stops and picks her head up (which she usually does), it’s lights out.

Her dam, Miss V8 807/8, is a full sister to +Mr. V8 933/7 “Yeti.” Around here, we have a rule: keep the full sisters to our herd bulls. They consistently become powerhouse donors. In fact, we don’t just have one — we have five full sisters to Yeti in the donor pen, and in 2025, they’re wearing the crown. These are cows that check every box: femininity, longevity, fertility, mothering ability, and prolific embryo production. 76/0 was born light, just 64 pounds, but weaned with the heaviest weight of her group, as a natural calf. That’s a credit to her mother.

Her sire, Mr. V8 824/8 “Polled Solution,” continues to surprise us in the best way. He consistently outbreeds his own phenotype, and that power comes from the females behind him. His dam, Miss V8 578/7, is a flushmate to +Mr. V8 191/7. Their mother? The legendary +Miss V8 464/6, International and World Brahman Congress Champion. And because 807/8 is a daughter of 191/7, this heifer is linebred to +464/6, doubling down on that influence. We call this kind of pairing a V8 Superblend. From her sire, she brings in the rare Claydesta 807-U5 cow family. From her dam, the powerhouse +Miss V8 165/4 line—our most numerous and arguably most dominant. A perfect balance of rarity and reliability.

We love a good long game, the ones that bloom over time. But this one? She’s ready now. Big-time quality with big-time potential. Have fun.

PRIVATE TREATY SALE PENS

We’re thrilled to welcome you to the sale pens at V8 Ranch. This year, alongside the seven Made for Magic heifers, we’re opening our private treaty sale pens once again — with an exciting lineup of bulls and heifers for your consideration.

EXCEPTIONAL HEIFERS, READY FOR SELECTION

Following our Made for Magic Auction, we’ll offer approximately 50 top fall-born Brahman heifers for private treaty sale. These heifers aren’t included in the auction because we hand-select the Made for Magic offerings and save the rest for discerning buyers who visit the ranch. Prices range from $5,000 to $20,000, offering exceptional value across the board. Each heifer carries the uncompromising quality V8 is known for.

TOP BRAHMAN BULLS

Our bull sale pens are open year-round, with bulls starting at $5,000. We just added a new group to the pens—young sires ready for picking. Many are full or half-siblings to the heifers in this sale, offering the same elite genetics at a different stage of life. We sell our bulls young, but we guarantee them to work. Backed by pedigree, performance, and phenotype, these bulls are built to make a meaningful impact and bring lasting value to any herd.

VIP ACCESS FOR MFM BIDDERS

Bidding in the Made for Magic Auction comes with a special perk: early access to our private treaty heifer pens. Even one bid earns you VIP status, giving you a two-day head start to make your selections before the sale pens open to the public.

DISCOVER THE LEGACY OF V8

The V8 brand is more than a ranch — it’s a legacy. Our cattle are bred with a steadfast commitment to quality, passion, and integrity, offering unmatched lineage and enduring value. Each heifer or bull represents an investment that grows over time, enriching your program for generations.

Join us at the ranch, explore the pens, and experience firsthand the unparalleled quality and care that define V8 Ranch. We’re confident you’ll find hidden gems that will not only meet but exceed your expectations, whether it’s a show-stopping heifer or a game-changing bull. We look forward to seeing the mark they’ll make under your ownership.

THROUGH OUR EYES

SALE HEIFER COMMENTARY VIDEOS

This year, we’re doing things a little differently.

We were the first in the seedstock industry to introduce individual heifer commentary videos — a concept that’s now become a familiar part of many sales. But for Made for Magic XI, we’ve taken it a step further.

If you’re used to our traditional format, you’ll want to tune in and see this new iteration.

Jim shares his perspective from the seat of his mule, riding through the pens and visiting about each heifer as they move around him—offering the kind of real-time, from-the-pasture insight you’d only get in person. Catherine joins from the ranch office, bringing a historian’s lens to each pedigree and cow family, connecting every female back to the deep roots of the V8 program.

Two voices. Two vantage points. One goal: to help you understand these cattle as if you were standing right here with us.

The videos will be unveiled first on Facebook in the days leading up to the sale, then archived permanently on our YouTube channel — where they’ll live alongside hundreds of other V8 stories, moments, and history.

Join nearly 50,000 Brahman enthusiasts and subscribe at YouTube.com/v8ranchcattle.
