One great year sets the stage for another, and we couldn’t be more excited! District Convention (DCON) 2024 was an unforgettable experience, bringing us together as a District for a weekend of fellowship and celebration. Held at Cardiff Hotel and Spa, the event concluded with a host of awards, reflecting the outstanding achievements of the year.
Congratulations to DBE Ornella & LtG Pierce on being successful in their District Elections; DCP of Service Jonell, DCP of Dcon Wendy, DCP of Governing Docs Petrecia and DCP of DLFC Lanelle on their DCP Appointments.
In the spirit of appreciation and kindness, our club members came together to create heartfelt Mother’s Day cards for the mothers in the maternity ward at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI). Each card was designed with love and filled with encouraging words to celebrate the strength and dedication of these incredible women. This initiative was a small but meaningful way to spread joy and let them know they are valued and appreciated on their special day.

Free Rice is an online educational game and charitable initiative run by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). Participants answer multiple-choice questions on various subjects, and for each correct answer, the platform donates a small amount of rice to help fight global hunger. The initiative is a fun and impactful way to contribute to a meaningful cause.
We had a Free Rice Marathon, where members dedicated their time to making a difference. Serena Williams led the way with the highest contribution, securing first place. As a club, we collectively contributed an impressive 26 hours and 56 minutes!

Committed to creating a brighter and more welcoming environment for the children at Reddie’s Place of Safety, our club members dedicated their time to a meaningful beautification project. We painted walls, enhancing the outdoor spaces. This initiative not only improved the physical surroundings but also reinforced our dedication to supporting and uplifting vulnerable youth in our community.
In partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Kingston, our members assisted in beautifying Glenhope Nursery, a home that provides care and support for abandoned, abused, neglected, orphaned and disabled children. We worked to enhance the facility by painting, cleaning, and decorating spaces to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. This initiative was a testament to our dedication to early childhood development and the impact of collective service in improving the lives of children in need.
Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.
Through a collaborative effort with the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) Circle K Club, we worked to revitalize the RJR Basic School. Volunteers came together to repaint classrooms, restore playground equipment, all to create a more engaging and stimulating learning environment for the students. This project showcased the power of teamwork and service, ensuring that the children have a welcoming space to learn and grow.
Circle K International is the world’s largest student-led collegiate service organization, with thousands of members on hundreds of campuses on five continents across the globe.
