April 18-19: Counselor Overnight Training at JCC Rainbow Camp

Project Freshman 15,000 at UW-Madison broke the Guiness World Record for the largest Rice Krispies treat ever made! Large blocks were sold on campus, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Camp Kesem UW-Madison! 5,500 pounds of Rice Krispies cereal, 9,000 pounds of marshmallows and 850 pounds of butter were used.

April 25: Make the Magic at the Marquis Ballroom in Fitchburg, WI April 26: Spring Reunion at Sun Prairie High School

On April 10th, CKUW participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life at the Camp Randall Sports Center. It was great to spread some Kesem love and raise awareness towards the fight against cancer!

TEEN OVERNIGHT REUNION This January, CKUW hosted the first Teen Overnight Reunion ever at JCC Rainbow Camp! Activities included arts and crafts, an empowerment ceremony, gaga ball, and outdoor ice hockey! (See photo above!) Camp Kesem UW-Madison is the first chapter to host a Teen Overnight Reunion, and we hope our efforts will help pave the way for more chapters to have this opportunity. This would not have happened without amazing supporters, so thank you!

CYC Fitness will host a philanthropy ride for Camp Kesem UW-Madison on April 25th. We have the chance to raise more than $800! Cost is $20. Sign up here: http://bit.ly/1FP31Ks

CKUW SPRING POEM Exec board has been planning, the counselors all training, hoping during camp, that it won’t be raining. Spring is arriving and Kesem’s staff is preparing, 76 total counselors handpicked to be caring. The week’s theme has been decided, we hope you’ll be delighted, to hear more about the camp to which you’ve been invited. Some thick, some skinny, some colorful, some not, if you ask us for more details, we’d tell you “they have a plot.” 94 and 122 days till the July and August camps respectively, it appears to be much more if you view the days collectively. The numbers seem large, but it will surely go quick, new counselors and campers still have camp names to pick. So enjoy spring as you go back out to play, and keep the countdown going because camp gets closer every day!!!
