TEAM TAKEOVER

UTV Takeover is put on every year under the direction of dedicated leadership and passionate volunteers! Created out of a desire to expand the offroad experience and the fantastic community surrounding this sport, we could not do ANY of these events without our amazing staff and hard working volunteers!

UTV Takeover requires hundreds of people every day to put on such an extraordinary offroad event, and we can't thank them enough. Many of our staff and volunteers give up their vacations, time with their families, and more to help scan tickets, empty refuse containers, take campers to their camping spot, put up fencing, support vendors, sponsors, and so much more!

The UTV Takeover tour of events has grown exponentially every year since the inception in 2015 around a campfire. We feel beyond blessed and are humbled every time we talk with an attendee having the time of their lives. Memories are priceless and we think everybody should have the opportunity to get out and enjoy the outdoors, their machines, and make memories that last a lifetime.

UTV HUCKFEST

Huckfest is the ULTIMATE UTV Takeover activity to spectate! Participants jump their UTVs from a dedicated jump to see who can send it the furthest. Huckfest is a high-adrenaline show of skill and risk unlike any other competition. Higher doesn’t mean further and faster doesn’t mean flatter. The number of jumps per participant will be determined at the time of the activity. The number may change due to various conditions and safety factors, along with the number of participants.

We ask that all competitors have experience jumping their vehicle and participate logically, safely, within the capacity of their vehicle and driver safety equipment! Due to the nature of the event, we ask that all spectators remain behind all activity markers and signs. Please park your vehicle off the front lines to allow the thousands of spectators a fair shot to view the competition.

WHEELIEFEST

One of the biggest events at UTV Takeover is Wheeliefest! Drawing crowds of thousands of spectators, Wheeliefest is so much more than getting the front wheels off the ground! Participants need to approach the launch at just the right speed, throttle into it at just the right moment, and then carry that momentum for the longest distance possible. Vehicles can make a clean run or drag bumper. No wheelie bars allowed. Participants must drive away from the wheelie or the run does not count! For everybody's safety, we ask that all spectators stay behind track markers, signs, and we encourage you to use extreme caution if standing near the course. Please park away from the track boundaries to allow standing room. Everybody wants a good view of the best wheelie competition in the United States!

SAND DRAGS

The UTV Takeover Sand Drags are quickly becoming one of our sand events’ most talked-about activities! Anybody can compete and is a great way to start off the day’s festivities! There will be test-n-tune times before each race, with trophies presented for each class.

SHORT COURSE RACES

A heads-up race between two drivers on a single infinity track, UTV Takeover Short Course races will test who has just the right combination of suspension, horsepower, and skill. As racers get eliminated, the deeper the ruts get, dynamically changing the course! The course covers two football fields and features multiple elevation changes, corners, and jumps. In the end, the two fastest racers go head-to-head for the coveted 1st place Takeover trophy! Grab some snacks, kick back and enjoy the best in our deep community of racers!

RALLYFEST

Judged on completion time, UTVTakeover's Rally Course races will start from the South side of Vendor Row (other side of roadway) and head up-hill into the rocky trails of Sand Hollow! Involving a number of obstacles, hillside, vegetation, straightaways, and more, this is the ultimate test of speed, machine, driver, and reaction times.

NIGHTTIME GROUP RIDES

UTV Takeover Night Rides take traversing Sand Hollow to the next level! These rides take place at dusk and hundreds of UTVs light up the desert with a magical parade of lights! Starting on the South side of the access tunnel, hundreds of UTVs will carve through the rocks and dunes of Sand Hollow creating a snake of lights unlike any other! Drive at the speed you are comfortable. Please be respectful of other drivers and skill levels. Please follow the lead driver and do not cut unsafely through the group. These rides will last approximately one (1) hour after dark, so please dress and pack accordingly. Please DO NOT block traffic from the access tunel or those participating in the Grudge Match drags.

BARREL RACING

Barrel Races are the ultimate test of speed and nimbleness. The Mini Games arena is set up with three barrels for competitors to race around and through the finish line. Tight turning vehicles typically have the advantage, unless you have the power to throttle the tail around! Arrive early and memorize the turns and generate a rhythm. Barrel Races are also a great spectating event for the whole family! UTV, ATV, and Youth classes available, fastest time wins.

DAYTIME GUIDED RIDES

UTV Takeover Utah’s Daytime Group Rides are a unique experience…or should we say experiences! While other Takeover events take guided rides at speed, these are rides along specific, well-known, trails where speed is not the key. You can choose one of many different trails that include various world famous rock crawling obstacles. All trails and obstacles are guided by Utah Off-Road Professional Guides that know the area and which lines to take. Most obstacles have alternate routes or bypasses. We ask all participants to be respectful of all other drivers and skill levels, practicing patience with the occasional friendly jest. Snacks/ drinks and safety/recovery equipment are recommended, though nothing on the ride should require them. Please remember to pack out what you packed in! More details on each trail can be found on Page 60!

TREASURE HUNT

The annual Takeover Treasure Hunt is a must for anybody wanting to see all of what Sand Hollow has to offer! Our clues will take you and your family through the event, vendor row, into the dunes, secret waypoints, and more! Take selfies with your team for points. Most points win with ties decided with a single round of Cornhole! Participants will need to pick up their Treasure Hunt package from the Community Tent and can be turned in each day to the Community Tent up until Saturday at 2:00 PM.

DAYTIME SHOW-N-SHINE

Whether your rig is showroom clean or covered in sand from the dunes, enter your ride in our Daytime Show-n-Shine competition and show off your bling, performance upgrades, and custom-built components in front of the entire UTV Takeover community! All vehicles are welcome to join. All competing vehicles will be on display in front of the main stage during the Thursday night Benefit Raffle. A panel of UTV Takeover judges will pick an overall winner and runner up!

Does your custom rig really “shine” once the sun goes down? Enter the Nighttime Show-n-Shine and show off your lights, whips, stereo, and customizations in front of the entire Takeover community! All vehicles are welcome to join. All competing vehicles will be on display Friday night at the Concert in the Dunes, located near the Mini Games Arena. A panel of UTV Takeover judges will pick an overall winner and runner up!

ROCK-N-ROLL BINGO

Join us in the Community Tent for a family-friendly fun game of Rock-n-Roll Bingo and a chance to win some great prizes from our sponsors. It is FREE to play and a blast for all ages. Rock-n-Roll Bingo is similar to standard Bingo. You win by completing a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line or getting combinations like all four corner squares or a blackout. The difference is that instead of a numbered grid, each board consists of artist names and song titles.The DJ will play random songs for approximately 30 seconds, and you identify them on your card. Play continues until a winning combination is achieved!

BLIND BANDIT

The ultimate combination of driver and navigator, Blind Bandit requires drivers to navigate a tight sand course blindfolded, receiving verbal instructions from their passenger(s). Through the obstacle course, navigators will have to grab money bags resting on top of barrels without getting out of their vehicle. Missed/ dropped bags and touched barrels incur a time penalty. Complete the course by backing into your marked hideout. The fastest time wins!

You have four chances on Wednesday/Thursday and three chances Friday/Saturday, totalling 14 opportunities, to draw a maximum of 7 playing cards per Poker Run hand.You can pick up your punch cards at the Community Tent between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM daily, along with the card draw locations and times listed below. The best 5-card poker hand from those cards must be turned in at the Community Tent by 6:00 PM daily or Saturday by 2:00 PM.Ties will be settled by a single round of Cornhole! TIRE TOSS

Come show off your strength in our tire toss competition. Each contestant will get two throws of an MX tire of the appropriate size. Only the furthest of the two throws will count. This activity is family-friendly with Men's, Women's, and Youth classes. Bring the whole family out for a chance to win raffle tickets, trophies, and, best of all, bragging rights!

Walking the isles of Vendor Row, you can find replacement parts, performance upgrades, paddle tires, LED whips, clothing, coffee, recovery gear, and more! There's so much to see and learn by talking with each vendor about their products and services. This isn't your standard trade show! Are you thinking of buying or upgrading to a new UTV or ATV? Stop by both of our Demo Ride locations to check out the latest Polaris and Yamaha model vehicles. You can sign up for a FREE test ride in one of these brand new vehicles and get a feel for the power and characteristics of each machine on the designated test courses. Each ride will last about 25 minutes and provide various types of terrain to really get a good feel for the vehicle. Helmets are REQUIRED for all test rides. Participants are required to register for a time slot to test ride vehicles. Please see website for details.

CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

Join us in the middle of Vendor Row, in front of the UTV Takeover Community Tent, for amazing Cornhole action! Bring a partner, or show up solo and we will assign you a partner. UTV Takeover staff will organize Cornhole matches and teams at random. This tournament will be a single-elimination tournament with winners advancing each round. The main event is Wednesday evening, but the Cornhole boards will be available all week for you to challenge your friends and family!

HIGH TECH MEETS HIGH STRENGTH

USE YOUR PHONE TO CONTROL YOUR WINCH

This state-of-the-art wireless control system allows you to operate your winch using the Bluetooth connection on your smart device. The IP68 waterproof HUB Wireless Receiver connects to the winch, and then our free custom-developed app for either iOS or Android communicates with the receiver via Bluetooth signal. The smart device will be able to operate the winch from up to 100’ away and monitor the vehicle’s battery voltage.

KIDS ZONE

Between ripping in the dunes and participating in all the daily activities, make sure to take a break and let the kids do their thing in the Kids Zone located within the UTV Takeover Community tent. Grab a snack or drink while the kids enjoy coloring, crafts, and more! The Kids Zone is not a daycare, and all kids must be supervised at all times by at least one parent or guardian.

RACE THE CLOCK

PRESENTED BY: sPOD

Race the clock is one of the newest events and is a combination of barrel racing and blind bandit. Each team will navigate their UTV around barrels that are placed in a circle. These barrels will be numbered like a clock, and participants will be given a list of barrel numbers in random order. It is recommended to have a navigator guide you around the course for the best time! Participants will accrue time penalties for missed, out-of-order, or knocked-over barrels. The quickest time wins.

DAILY BENEFIT RAFFLES

The UTV Takeover Benefit Raffles were created "by the riders, for the riders" to help raise funds for multiple charities while giving back to the enthusiasts that make our community great! While you are enjoying all of the vendors and FREE activities, please swing by the UTV Takeover Community Tent and purchase a few raffle tickets to help support the cause. We are giving away over $20,000 in donated prizes from the biggest and best companies in the industry. Tickets are available daily during tent hours. Please see the event schedule for more information about the Daily Benefit Raffles on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The large group campfire will be roaring, food from our vendors will be hot, and the drinks will be cold. The Trash Games is a categorical cleaning competition designed to engage all age ranges in a scavenger hunt style trash cleanup. We make picking up trash fun by breaking it down into different categories and then giving away some BIG PRIZES to the top trash collectors! Our goal is to promote awareness and be a boots-on-the-ground way to help take care of our OHV areas! Come be a part of leaving no trace in Sand Hollow!.

New this year, the Radio Controlled Sand Drag Association will be hosting offical RC sand drags directly following the daily UTV sand drag competitions! These santioned events will bring professional RC racers from around the country to Utah to throw down in the red sands of Sand Hollow. UTV Takeover families are welcome to watch or race if you have qualifying vehicles. Grudge Drags will be setup for those simply wanting race their hobby RC vehicles as well.
