Our mission is to inspire and support our student-athletes in the pursuit of comprehensive excellence. The Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence began on July 1, 2013, as a three-year initiative to provide the resources needed to assist in fulfilling the vision of Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics, Dave Hart, to achieve comprehensive excellence in the classroom, competition and the community.

The goal of the campaign was to raise $145.7 million toward identified priorities. This total includes cash contributions and pledges that would be fulfilled over multiple years or in a donor’s estate.

Endowments

Renewing Academic Commitment Program

Scholarship endowments allow donors to invest in current and future Tennessee student-athletes. These endowments assist in funding athletic scholarships across all UT sports programs. Through interest generated annually by their scholarships, donors provide a perpetual funding source to benefit current and future student-athletes.

Over $6 million was secured in endowments and educational initiatives during the Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence.

The SouthEast Bank Renewing Academic Commitment Program (RAC) was created to help facilitate the re-entry of former student-athletes who would like to complete their degrees. The program is for those who have exhausted their eligibility and either joined the professional ranks or left school for other reasons prior to graduation. Colleges within the university constantly evaluate and change curricula, which may make it complicated for returning students to figure out exactly what is needed to complete degree requirements. The SouthEast Bank RAC program ensures guidance and financial aid assistance to these former student-athletes through the process of degree completion.

Several options exist for donors to make gifts to UT athletics outside of cash donations. These gifts are classified under planned giving and are typically made from assets in your estate, rather than disposable income.
