This is my second time directing a short film, and my most ambitious project yet. I have focused my specialism as directing from the beginning, but I’m also experienced in sound. I want to create performances that challenges the status quo and has a deeper meaning, questioning capitalism and societal structures. I was drawn to this film because of its surrealist nature, completely out of my comfort zone. I felt this challenge would be a rewarding final university film.

When transported into his own mind, Guy must confront his deepest fears and desires in order to change his life.
Guy works a hellish 9 to 5 in a travel agency office, where he is often annoyed by the buildings friendly janitor - Asher. Sleep deprived and angry, his work is causing his personal life to suffer - especially his relationship with his wife.
After a freak accident outside of work, Guy is trapped in his own dreams - forced to confront memories, fears and desires in order to break free from his miserable routine and return to consciousness.
Guy awakens after a talk with his passed grandmother - Penelope, determined to make something of his life he quits his job and dedicates to improving his marriage with Lisa.

i’m Maisy, I wrote this film about the desire we all have for freedom and fun that is often put aside because of the need to stay in line and survive. Even as crew members this script is fun and we get to create a film with fun and freedom for all art departments!

I’m Lew, an actor/creative artist, and I’m a recent graduate of the University of South Wales. I’ve worked on several short and student films before, as well as writing a few of my own projects. Working on Dream Trade was such a creatively fulfilling experience, and the character of Asher was a joy to play. Every day on set was so fun and it made playing such an overwhelmingly positive character very easy.

My name is Pippa Groves, an aspiring actress located in Barry. I will be joining University of South Wales for the Drama and Theatre course in September 2025, and I couldn't be more excited.
Acting has always been my passion, and after some time away, I have realised there's nothing l'd want to pursue more.
My first return to acting was on the project Dream Trade, and I couldn't ask for a more supportive and welcoming team. They were a delight to work with and would be eager to work with them all again.
