Synopsis

Eve is being questioned about the murder and arson of Dr Eric Pierce.

Alongside two other suspects Hannah and Simon give conflicting accounts of the events leading to the murder. Will Eve, Hannah or Simon be convicted of the crime? Will the detectives uncover the truth of what happened?

Oli Warren: Director

Who Did It? Is one of the most interesting short films I’ve ever seen. From the first read through of the script to the last, the twists you can never see coming makes for a really intriguing watch. The story is fantastic but when paired with the performances from our actors, most notable from Maisie Frater as Eve, it really brings out all the emotions stored within the story.

My intention for the film was to create tension through fast paced dialogue and make the audience feel uncomfortable through the lead character’s performance. This really comes out in the middle of the film during the interrogation, the way in which the detectives cut off the suspects without letting them finish is something I worked on with the actors and the editor making sure the pace of the film is dictated by the detectives making the room itself feel tense. This creation of tension was also discussed when making the set, the walls would move in and around the characters at points during the film to really create the tense atmosphere which I envisioned initially.

The film brings together fantastic works from all departments involved and will surely stand the test of time as a fantastic short film.

Solomon Harrison: Writer/Director of Photography

My idea behind Who Did It? was to create a unique take on the classic who-dun-it by reimagining familiar tropes and infusing them with unexpected twists. Inspired by Criminal: UK and Her Story, as well as the themes and unpredictability of Inside No. 9 and Black Mirror, the story unfolds entirely within a single, confined location: the interrogation room. This minimalist setting amplifies tension and focuses attention on dialogue, character dynamics, and psychological unravelling. Each interrogation peels back new layers of the truth and lies, allowing the audience to play detective. Who Did It? isn't just about solving the crime, it's about how truth itself can be not what it seems.

Crew

Rikraj is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Editing at the University of South Wales, where he is honing his craft in storytelling through audio-visual media. His passion for editing stems from a lifelong fascination some might say obsession with documentaries, films, and TV shows from around the world. From Indian cinema to Hollywood, and from Spanish thrillers to Japanese dramas, Rikraj finds inspiration in the diversity of global storytelling.

Beyond film and television, he is an avid reader of manga, light novels, and graphic content, and enjoys the occasional anime binge. For Rikraj, inspiration isn't confined to one format; it’s everywhere in text, image, or motion.

When he’s not immersed in his editing suite or devouring media in his “goblin cave,” Rikraj expresses himself through dance, a passion he actively pursued during his undergraduate years. Dance has long been a creative outlet for him, but storytelling through editing remains his truest form of expression. He views editing as far more than just assembling footage it’s a powerful form of communication, one he’s dedicated to mastering.
