Amy KoopnJan perhaps even final AA placements were possibly affected. In the optionals,)ulianne McNamara took command. She won UB (9.85), BB (9.75) and FX (9 .75), tying with Tracee Talavera and Lisa Zeis on BB and Gina Stallone on FX. McNamara's AA total was 76.40, 0.95 ahead of second place Talavera. Third through eighth in the World Team Trials AA were: Gina Stallone, Amy Koopman, Lisa Zeis, Michelle Goodwin, Shari Mann and Kathy Johnson. Compulsory leader Amy Koopman lost h er lead and fell to fourth with a 9.00 BB and 9.20 FX. On vaulting she scored 9.60 USGF GYMNASTICS
with a tuck tsuk-full and on UB earned a 9. 70. On FX Amy fell after attempting a triple-full as her mount, and on BB a number of minor breaks caused her to score 9.00. Unfortunately, for Olympian Luci Collins, well .. . it just was not her day - falling to 17th over-all. She began the competition with a 9.55 layout-tsuk, but on her second event, bars, three major breaks and a loss of concentration cost her. She scored only 6 .45 . However, she finished the competition strong on FX with an excellent routine - tumbling, music, choreography and dance presentation - she was the only gymnast to mount and dismount
