URBAN JUNGLE DESIGN PROFILE We are committed to creating sustainable urban environments that bring beauty and vibrancy to our clients. Our clients depend on our expertise and ability to adapt to the constraints of their property. We understand the challenges of the urban environment, and have developed our own methods to maximize green spaces in the city. We are always searching for a solution that will provide an exceptional outcome for our clients. Our clients include architects, building developers, private residents and municipalities. Urban Jungle started in 2009 as an urban garden center. Since then we have grown into a unique and multi-faceted organization. Over the years, we often received requests for custom containers, which lead us to add a fabrication department to our operations. In 2018, we acquired a CNC machine and opened up a door leading us to greater creativity. We now can create precision measured custom planters, decor panels, and green walls in less time than we thought possible. Custom sizes and colors are our standard. We invite you to bring your projects to us. With nearly a decade of experience, we know we can accomplish any garden you can imagine.
C U STO M C O N TA I N E R S + G R E E N WA L L S One size does not fit all and every client is unique. We are able to build any size planter with a variety of customizable options including color, finish, controlled drainage, and false bottoms. We can even build them with wheels. We have the ability to brand the planters with decorative panels that are machined out with our CNC router. One of the biggest advantages is that the planters are field repairable. So, if they somehow get damaged, we can make repairs on site. We can design and build just about anything you can imagine. We entered the green wall industry a decade ago, and in the time since our first vertical plant installation in 2008, we have learned much about growing plants for vertical applications. Urban Jungle Design has developed a proprietary living wall system that is flexible, sustainable and stylish. We have provided living walls for doctors who want to brighten their waiting rooms, dispensaries eager to offer health benefits to their clientele, and architects + developers eager to use living walls to create green partitions in public spaces. We have a living wall solution for your space, too. For select clients, we offer tours of our manufacturing facility and our installations throughout the city.

P2 Old City Residence Location: One Riverside Components: Custom-made planters, irrigation, evergreens, perennials, annuals. Description: The planters hide barbed wire directly behind the installation, and frame views of the nearby architecture.
Green spaces can be hard to come by in the city and this can be stress inducing for some especially those who appreciate a yard with large trees, flowering shrubs and open lawns. For this Center City residence, Urban Jungle fabricated and installed custom-made planters, green roofs, and native plant material to create conditions that encourage nature in the city. In the fourth-floor courtyard, we installed Ipe pavers and earth tone urns with sage colored evergreens and herbs. On the fifthfloor courtyard, we installed a green roof inter-planted with native perennials. At the roof deck, we covered the waterproofing with Ipe pedestal pavers. We installed custom-made planters and a plant palette including herbs, vegetables and perennials that are known to attract pollinators. From the roof deck the client has views of the ships docked along the Delaware River waterfront and IM Pei’s Society Hill Towers. All areas are irrigated with a low-maintenance drip system.

P3 Old City Residence Location: 2nd and Race Streets Components: Custom-made planters, irrigation, evergreens, perennials, annuals. Description: This project includes installations on the roof deck, second floor balcony, and street level. With our client, we created an outdoor room on the roof deck; a privacy screen on the second floor balcony; and, on the ground floor, a public landscape at street level. The home is located at the corner of a busy intersection, and everyday thousands of cars, bicyclists and pedestrians pass by the site. This project is ongoing.
The planters are designed and installed so that all water drains to the back of the wall. A gutter directs water to the adjacent scupper. Our work with this client is ongoing.

P4 URBAN INTERSECTION Location: Passyunk Avenue at Morris Street Components: Custom-made planters, evergreens, perennials, annuals. Description: The planters provide an attractive barrier for pedestrians from oncoming traffic in the newly design intersection. There were specific height restrictions that were met in the design phase of the project. We provided planters for many restaurants and bars to the north and the south of the intersection.

Location: Northern Liberties Components: Custom-made planters, pedestal pavers, irrigation, evergreens, perennials, annuals. Description: The installation brings coordinated color and texture to the client’s roof deck.

Location: 2116 Chestnut Street Components: Custom-made planters and panels, evergreens, perennials, annuals. Description: The planters respond to the architecture and create curb appeal for this facility.
P 7 D R . A MY E . J A M E S , D M D Location: Haddonfield, NJ Components: Proprietary Green Wall, Irrigation Description: The green wall is located in the waiting room. Patients enter through the front door and greeted with the calming influence of a living green wall.
The hydrophilic media that is integral to the health of the plants ensures that there is very little maintenance needed to keep the wall looking it’s best at all times.
P8 RESTORE WELLNESS CENTER Location: Philadelphia Components: Proprietary Green Wall, Irrigation Description: In this new medical marijuana dispensary, Urban Jungle installed a large green wall using our custom designed green wall system in the waiting room. Like plants are clustered together to create a pattern with texture and shades of green. The green wall provides air quality benefits and a visual amenity.
The Urban Jungle green wall system uses a soil-less hydrophilic media. Plants are established directly in the media reducing transplant shock.
P9 CENTER CITY ROOF DECK Location: 22nd and Race Streets Components: Custom made trellis, proprietary green wall and irrigation. Description: The client had a desire to update their aging deck with a new trellis and thought that a living green wall would be a great addition to their environment. This green wall was planted entirely with succulents that will survive the extreme temperatures on the roof deck.

A green wall is an investment. A mobile green wall allows you to maximize your investment because you have the ability to move the piece from room to room for events and occasions. We establish our plants in a green house in a hydrophilic media. We plug and plant your green wall on site. Because of the recirculating irrigation system our green wall is low-maintenance. Plants thrive with little care. Mobile green walls are ideal for an ever-changing office space, waiting room, or lobby.
