The Rex Courts Women’s Group is an opportunity for women in the community to connect with each other and get to know each other better. Our goal is to combat the isolation and loneliness that many women experience especially when living alone by offering fun ways to get together and get to know the other women in the community. We utilized ideas developed by women in the Rex Courts community to plan activities, including opportunities to learn to knit and crochet, play games together like Wheel of Fortune and Bingo, and create a space to promote social interaction. This group has allowed for women in the community to connect in a way that promotes opportunities for them to encourage, celebrate, and build each other up! We have seen friendships develop between neighbors and have watched connection and excitement grow among the community through this women’s group opportunity.
