Weekly Newsletter Summer 2018 Week 1 Welcome back everyone after the Easter holidays. I do hope you all had a very good break and wonderful family time together. It is always a delight to return to school especially amidst this beautiful sunshine which is a real treat. The children look very smart in their summer uniform and how well timed. Whilst this sunny spell is here please can we remind parents to apply sunscreen to the children before they come to school, and ensure they have a school sun hat (available from Billings and Edmonds). It seems a long way from asking for wellies and waterproofs to stay dry in the snow! We have a busy term ahead and I do hope you have all received your Upton diary listing all events. Our assembly theme this term is Loyalty and as a starting point the children should be able to tell you all about Greyfriars Bobby! As a school in the very heart of Windsor we are very much looking forward to the Royal Wedding and our upcoming celebrations. I was delighted to talk to BBC Radio Berkshire this week, live on air. We discussed bunting and Upton’s Royal Wedding celebrations! We are very much part of BBC Radio Berkshire’s bunting project, to put the most wonderful and creative bunting up on the Long Walk on May 19th. The older girls are working hard together on their creations, which includes images of the fun festivities. We are looking forward to our ‘Kings and Queens’ open air picnic here at Upton on 4th May to celebrate the occasion. We very much look forward to the term ahead, and to sharing many special times with you.
