Weekly Newsletter Spring 2019 Week 9 Some of our pupils competed this week at Guildford High in the IAPS swimming regional rounds. Now we just need to wait to see who qualifies… fingers crossed.
We were hugely delighted and proud to find out earlier this week that we are the first school in Berkshire to be awarded PLASTIC-FREE SCHOOL status. This is a huge achievement, led by our pupils, to cut use of single-use plastic in school and our local community. What fun when we dressed up yesterday as book characters and enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. We had a visit from storyteller Ruth Burgess, the younger children shared and read books with the older children, we even had a Where’s Wally? hunt and we swapped some of our preloved books with each other.
Open your eyes to boarding On Thursday 2nd May the GSA will be hosting an opportunity for families to meet 25 leading UK boarding schools for girls. The Boarding Fair will be held at St Matthew’s Church, London, W2 4LA, 6.30-8.30pm. Please email boarding@gsa.uk.com for further information. Upton House School

We have received a call this week from a resident of Elizabeth Court about some of our parents using the private parking area opposite the Beaumont Road gate. Please may we remind you that this should not be used at any time. We appreciate that it is very tempting but your car could be clamped and abuse of this car park damages the school’s relationship with some of our nearest neighbours. Thank you for your co-operation.
