Weekly Newsletter Spring 2019 Week 3 During Children's Mental Health Week (4th to 10th February) we will be supporting the children's charity Place2Be which aims to raise awareness of positive mental health for children and young people across the UK. This year, the theme is how to stay healthy on the inside and out. Did you know that making healthy choices for our body, like eating well, getting enough sleep and being active are also good for your mind? During the week we will be thinking about how we stay healthy and decide on one new thing we can do to look after our body and mind. A separate letter has already been sent to parents today about an information meeting on Friday 8th February at 8.50am with myself and Mrs Newcombe—we hope to see you there. Anna Hewitt Transition were lucky enough to have a trip to Combermere Barracks this week. We had so much fun! We completed a treasure hunt in the museum, spotting all sorts of things from huge Afghanistan spiders to helicopters. We went on a tour looking out for different forms of transport—there were tanks galore but we also spotted a horse ambulance, a desert buggy and so many horses. We were allowed to climb on carriages and we were able to stroke Bentley, a very friendly and patient horse. We were so engrossed in it all that we didn’t notice the cold one bit! A hugely enjoyable morning.
Form 3 competed with grit and determination in a netball match at St George’s Windsor today. Their focus paid off as they won both matches 7-5 and 1-0. The whole team and Players of the Match, Ruby and Nafeesah, are to be congratulated. Sarah Smith Date for your diary: St George’s Ascot are holding an Open Morning, Friday 8th March, 9am-12.
