Mr Kingston’s red, white and blue, cake
We hope you enjoyed our VE Day assembly this morning. It was very moving to sing together in the school hall and also to know you were all singing with us. To cover all bases, we live-streamed the assembly and today we have sent out a new link for you to enjoy. We were joined this morning in assembly by grandparents and family around the world. We had viewers from Los Angeles, Connecticut, Barcelona and Australia. The bunting looks beautiful, blowing in the breeze and wrapped around Upton. Take a look at the film clip and spot your bunting! Thank you for sharing our VE Day commemorations and celebrations. Don’t forget the one minute silence tomorrow at 11am. Think about Colonel Tom and his regiment. We salute you Colonel Tom. Think about every member of the armed forces still serving and especially Mrs Lewin’s husband, Surg. Lt. Col. Lewin, and The Blues and Royals Household Cavalry Regiment currently in South Sudan helping the United Nations. The pictures of you all dressed up in red, white and blue have certainly made our day today. You are our sunshine, and we miss your presence in school very much, children and parents. Mr Kingston made the most incredible red, white and blue cake today for staff to share later. Thank you Mr Kingston for looking after us so well in these times. We are very blessed.
Next week, Monday’s assembly will start at 9am. Please can we ask everyone to ensure they are joined, on mute, and ready for a 9am start. I will be thinking about other members of our Upton family on Monday, with lots of pictures of Elvis, Ottie and Dottie to share. Transition next week will begin exploring their new topic. I can’t wait to see Transition become Jungle Explorers and discover the animals and their environments. We can start with Elvis, Ottie and Dottie on Monday morning in assembly! Form 6 will be exploring Space next week and don’t forget to follow Upton Art on Twitter as you will see all your wonderful work. I do hope you are able to have a very good Bank Holiday weekend.
