Weekly Newsletter Autumn 2018 Week 10 I do hope you all had a very good half term. The children certainly seem rested and ready for the busy half term ahead. Today we launched our new House point and Shield point cards for the Prep department. Thank you Prep parents for joining us. The girls are very excited about their new badges and individual cards and were keen to have their first House point under the new system. The Musical Soirée on Monday evening was wonderful. Well done girls; you sang and played a wide variety of instruments beautifully. We enjoyed duets, ukulele instrumentals, piano recitals and violin performances. Thank you to our wonderful Music department: Miss Shafikova, Mr Avery, Miss Gee, Mr Milner, Mrs Brogan and Mrs Sinclair. Good luck to all our girls who have music exams next week. Transition were out and about on Wednesday and Thursday this week at a local Forest School; wellies and waterproofs and much fun. Three of our children have been working very hard in performances of The Nutcracker at Windsor Theatre. Congratulations to Keira, Ruby and Georgie who are appearing in the production throughout the week. I know some of our children are going to watch the performance tomorrow, as am I. I really look forward to seeing you all on stage girls. Our children have many achievements inside and outside of school and we really enjoy celebrating these successes which are to be commended. We began our own Christmas rehearsals this week. Nursery will be performing their Nativity A King is Born, Transition will be performing Away in a Manger and Forms 1 and 2 will be performing Born in a Barn. They are all on the same day—Friday 7th December at 9.30am, 11am and 2.15pm respectively. Well done to the girls who swam at the swimming gala on Monday at The Marist. Great team spirit and determination. It was lovely to watch. Form 3 enjoyed their netball match against the Marist on Thursday. Super effort girls. It has been a busy but productive first week back and it is a delight to see the energy and Upton spirit throughout the school. Rhian Thornton A gentle reminder that all children must wear their school coat and hat when entering and leaving school. Thank you for your help in maintaining the high standards of appearance of the children.
