Employee Benefits UPS Perks at Work UPS Perks at Work is an online platform where UPS employees can benefit from a variety of discounts and special offers, including discounted cinema tickets and travel costs, as well as deals on electronics.

There are nearly 2,000 brands represented in UPS Perks at Work, with some offers changing frequently. Last year, UPS employees who took advantage of the platform saved £670 on average on their purchases.

Follow a few simple steps to start saving while you shop: 1. Go to the Perks at Work website: www.perksatwork.com/login 2. Click “Register for free”. You will be asked to provide an email address.

Employee Benefits UPS Pension Investment Plan UPS operates a ‘Defined Contribution’ pension scheme (UPS Pension Investment Plan, otherwise known as PIP) for its employees. Following government regulations, all new employees will be automatically enrolled into the plan if their earnings are greater than £10,000 per annum and they are at least 22 years of age. If you do not meet these requirements, you can still request to join the plan by contacting the Pensions Dept.

Upon enrolling, the employee contributions are 4.5% of gross basic annual salary - matched by UPS. Employees with a technical or management contract can increase their contributions to 5%, which is matched by UPS and then increased to 7% after five years pensionable service.

Your pension scheme is managed by Legal & General. You will receive log-in details for your account, which enables you to manage your pension e.g. changing your investment choice. If you do not wish to join the pension scheme you can opt-out through Legal & General.

A salary sacrifice arrangement is also operated in the UPS Pension Investment Plan. This is an easy way for pension contributions to be paid which can save you money.

How it works is simple: UPS provides you with an extra benefit by increasing its contributions to the plan by exactly the same amount as the normal pension contributions that you paid before the arrangement is implemented.

In exchange, your gross salary is reduced, again by exactly the same amount as the normal pension contributions that you paid before the arrangement was implemented.

In effect you swap some of your salary for pension contributions. The good news is that in the majority of cases both you and the Company should pay less National Insurance so everyone makes a small saving. In some cases, the savings may be modest but every little helps.

The Payroll Dept will assess all members to ensure they are above the minimum threshold to partake in the plan.

Employee Benefits Death in Service Assurance If you are a member of the company pension scheme, you will have access to a ‘Death in Service Assurance’ cover at no extra cost. The cover remains in place whilst you are employed at UPS and contributing to the pension scheme, and if you have not reached State Pension Age. It can be difficult to think about death, but if it happens suddenly, you can be rest assured that your family will be taken care of. This benefit provides your loved ones with financial support in the event of death before reaching retirement age.

The support is equal to three times your gross basic annual salary. Whilst it would be the trustees of the UPS Pension & Life Assurance Plan to make the ultimate decision as to any beneficiaries of this money, we would urge all pension members to complete a Death Benefit Nomination Form to state your wishes, or identify an estate where payment should be directed.

Employee Benefits Long Term Disability Benefit No one can foresee a sudden illness which may stop them from working long-term, but sadly this can happen to anyone at any age. It could occur when you still have a mortgage or rent to pay, and children living at home. Worrying about finances will certainly not help with your health and wellbeing.

This benefit is only offered to employees who joined the pension scheme at their first opportunity, and are a management, technical or specialist employee. Alternatively, if you joined the plan at your first opportunity and subsequently get promoted into one of the aforementioned positions, you will be offered this benefit.

How does it work?

In the unfortunate circumstance that you are unwell for 26 consecutive weeks, the insurance company will be contacted. Medical evidence of the illness will be required. Subject to the insurers approval, you will be admitted as a claimant. You will be paid two thirds of your gross basic annual salary each month through Payroll, minus an annual deduction (currently £5,312). National Insurance, tax and your pension contributions will be deducted from this payment.

Regular medical reviews will be conducted by the insurer to determine your continued eligibility for the benefit. This payment will remain in place whilst you are still considered unfit to work, but will cease if you recover or reach State Pension Age. Employee Benefits Private Healthcare When you require medical assistance, there are many routes you can take depending on the reason, including your GP, Accident & Emergency, Walk-In Centre. However, if you are required to wait long periods for a follow up appointment with a Specialist, or to have an operation, your private healthcare cover would get you seen much sooner. Simply call the provider and discuss your situation.

This benefit is offered to employees who have joined the pension scheme at their first opportunity and are a management, technical or specialist employee. Alternatively, if you joined the plan at your first opportunity and then subsequently get promoted into one of the aforementioned positions, you will be offered this benefit.

The benefit will continue whilst you are still an active member of the company pension scheme, continue to hold a management, technical or specialist position, and have not reached State Pension Age. UPS currently use the services of AXA PPP as their private healthcare provider. If you choose to join the plan then you will not be asked to make a monthly contribution, although this is a taxable benefit. You can add your partner/spouse and children up to the age of 24 to your cover at an additional cost to yourself.

If you or one of your family use the plan, you will be required to pay an excess of £150 per person per policy year (April–March), irrespective of the number of visits you make. There is also an outpatient limit of £1,000 (including the excess).

Employee Benefits Language Education Programme Say goodbye to things being lost in translation!

Have you ever attended a meeting and felt like some things were lost in translation? When you work in a global company, with people from all over the world, language can sometimes be a barrier. The Language Education Programme allows each learner to create a tailormade learning path based on their particular combination of needs and interests, like logistics and marketing, for example. It is conducted online, is accessible by computer and mobile devices, and lessons (including live training) are available 24/7, allowing you to have a flexible schedule and learn on the go.

Your teachers will be experienced native speakers who receive ongoing training. On top of that, online technical support is available 24/7, and you’ll have access to study materials offline too.

Employee Benefits Tuition Reimbursement Programme The Tuition Reimbursement (TR) programme is a great way to build your skills and boost your career while also building value for UPS. The programme reimburses eligible full-time employees with at least one year of service, at 80 per cent of tuition and registration for approved courses, up to a maximum of £5,000. You will also be reimbursed at 80 per cent for the cost of books and instructional materials, up to a maximum of £50 per course.

You have to submit individual courses for approval to your immediate manager before registration. They will then consider the nature of the course related to your current or potential future job, as well as any potential timing conflict with work hours. Courses or certifications with no business-related content are not recommended for approval.

If your Department/Division Manager recommends that the course will be approved for reimbursement, they must share your application with the District TR Coordinator who will submit it for approval with the District HR Manager, District Controller and District Manager.

Individual courses from accredited institutions will be approved on an individual basis. Degree programnes must be submitted on a course by course basis.

Once you’ve completed the course, provide the appropriate documents for reimbursement. Please note that you do have to obtain a passing grade to qualify for reimbursement. If you fail the course, or leave UPS within one year of receiving the tuition reimbursement, you will be asked to repay the fees.

Active full-time employees are eligible after one year of service. You must also be on the payroll at the time of reimbursement. It is understood that there may be occasions, where class demands require time off for study. If necessary, you can receive up to one day of paid leave per course with a maximum of 5 days in any calendar year

Employee Benefits Tuition Reimbursement Programme Application Approval Process 1. Review the guidelines, posted on UPSers.com.

2. Complete the application and submit it to your direct manager for first approval.

3. Your direct manager submits a completed application to their local HR Manager who ensures the request meets UPS plan requirements and submits to the TR Coordinator.

4. The TR coordinator hands in the request for approval through District/Controller/HR manager. Approval flows are outlined on the TR Form.

5. Once approved, you’ll receive the Tuition Reimbursement contract to sign.

6. You successfully complete the course!

7. You file a reimbursement request with your HR manager. Make sure that all required documentation, such as grade report, transcript and/or itemised receipts are included!

8. If you leave UPS within the designated period following completion of the course/certification/degree, the local HR manager will work with you before you leave the company to work out the terms of the payback process designated in the contract.

All prior courses previously approved are still valid, but remain subject to managerial review. Reimbursement guidelines will be standardised in the region and follow the Europe Region Tuition Reimbursement Guidelines.

Tuition Reimbursement contracts are designed per local legal agreements with specific details on the employee and their educational request. Fulltime employees using UPS tuition programmes will receive their reimbursement through direct deposit.

All post-applications requests submitted without the Tuition Reimbursement Processing Request form and/or that do not include required documentation for ALL courses on the form will not be processed.

Employee Benefits Bonus Referral Scheme UPS Referral Scheme Our Service Providers have the opportunity to recommend friends and family to work for UPS throughout the year.

Referred friends and family can join UPS throughout the year in any external vacancies. If hired, pay will be dependent on the specific location and role of the appointed individual. Amounts paid are also subject to change.

Check with your local HR recruiter for a form to refer someone for a job at UPS and pass this on to your supervisor or manager. They will then share this information with HR who will start the hiring process.

Peak Season Driver Helpers If hired during peak season, your friend or family member will work as a Driver Helper all day, joining the driver in the package car when they leave the centre in the morning, returning in the evening. They will be paid for the same number of hours at the Driver Helper rate of pay (£10 per hour plus location allowance where applicable).

You will receive a payment of £300 (gross) for referring a friend or family member who is hired and works with you throughout the peak assignment. If they leave UPS before the peak assignment ends, you receive £150 (gross). You can refer any number of people, but the maximum payment is £300 (gross).

These payments are reviewed on a regular basis, please check with your local HR representative if you have any questions.

Employee Benefits Flu Vaccine Vouchers As we approach the autumn and winter months, there will be increased pressure on our health services, along with the combined challenge of both the seasonal flu and Covid-19.

Getting the vaccine is entirely your choice. However, UPS will cover the cost for all SP and SCS employees who want to get the flu vaccine privately.

How does it work?

1. On request, you will be sent a link and code to register.

2. Register with your e-mail address. If you don’t have a UPS email address, you can also register with your personal e-mail.

3. Complete a medical questionnaire to determine your suitability. Please note that UPS cannot make a decision if the flu vaccine is suitable for you. If you are unsure, please seek advice from your GP. 4. You’ll receive a voucher via e-mail.

5. A store finder link will be provided to help you find the nearest clinic for

you to book your appointment.

6. You book via phone/online or drop in clinic.

• They offer package holidays, flight arrangements with more than 40 airlines and accommodation arrangements. Additional benefits include best-priced annual travel insurance scheme, a Visa credit card, and discounted car rental, cruises and luxury train journeys.

• Touchdown is a licensed tour operator/travel agency based close to Gatwick Airport. Details of eligibility, deals offered, costs and booking information can be found at www.touchdown.co.uk.

• You can subscribe to a weekly newsletter with updates on its latest offers. Alternatively, you can call the general enquiry number on 0870 704 5000. For last-minute bookings (within 7 days), please call 0870 704 5077. Please note that only short bookings will be taken over the telephone. All other booking must be made online.

• A proof of employment letter will be required approximately one month prior to the departure date. Please contact the HR Admin team at UPS House to obtain your letter. Tickets will not be issued without this letter.

• Most flight-inclusive programmes required at least one year of service. However, several options are also available after just six months of service.

Employee Benefits Vision Express Regular eye tests are important for all of us to ensure our eye health is maintained, especially those working on computers or driving daily. There are simple steps you can take to protect and care for your eyes, starting with an eye test.

As many of us regularly use electronic devices, a Visual Display Unit (VDU) eye test is also essential. UPSers, if applicable, are eligible for a VDU eye test - cost reimbursed by the company. Please refer to the company policy.

Vision Express has a discounted scheme “Vision Select”, whereby employees are eligible for free eye tests, discounted glasses with single vision lenses, free contract lenses (available for a limited time). Please follow the step (pictured) above in order to benefit from these discounts.
