EXPLORE THROUGH EXPERIENCES
An important piece to finding your academic home and career pathway includes experiences inside and outside of the classroom. At UofL, you can participate in engaged learning experiences including internships, undergraduate research, study abroad, community and campus engagement, and more, starting your first year.
First-Year Experience Course (GEN 100)
This course is an introduction to UofL for students who are seeking admission to a major in another unit on campus (pre-unit) or still exploring options for a major (undecided). It focuses on your individual success, including your personal and academic development as you navigate your first year as a member of the UofL community. This course will help you clarify your purpose and meaning by exploring and reflecting on your skills, interests and next steps. Success looks different for each student, and this course will help you define that for yourself. The course is guided by these four questions, and helps you articulate answers to each of them:
1. Who am I?
2. Who do i want to become?
3. What do I want out of my education?
4. How do I make the most of my time at the University of Louisville?
Career Opportunities
UofL has three undergraduate career centers on campus, and thousands of our students participate in career and professional development through appointments, workshops, events and career fairs, each year. We foster industry partnerships locally, nationally and abroad so you can earn hands-on experience to be prepared for life after college.
Student Organizations
The University of Louisville hosts more than 400 registered student organizations (RSOs) ranging from Greek Life, academic groups, faith-based organizations, social clubs and cultural organizations. UofL also offers many intramurals and sports clubs. These groups provide a wonderful opportunity to be involved in campus life and connect with others.
