One Health l

One Health is an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to understanding, managing, and mitigating health challenges at a local and global scale; challenges such as transmission of zoonotic diseases, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, anti-microbial resistance and food security.

A first of its kind in Canada, this degree looks at the interconnections between human, animal and environmental health at the individual, population and ecosystem levels, integrating both scientific and socio-cultural knowledge.

With its roots in veterinary medicine and agriculture, and strengths in biological and social sciences, the University of Guelph is uniquely suited to prepare students to address complex health issues with a One Health approach.

Students take a combination of science and social science courses to explore the foundations of health and gain the skills needed to implement a One Health approach. They then apply their knowledge to real-world challenges in four One Health courses that include guest speakers, case studies, and a culminating experience that connects students with external partners.

This flexibility gives you the power to switch between our many majors and create an academic plan that suits you best. Work closely with award-winning faculty making groundbreaking discoveries in fields as diverse as pharmaceuticals and neuroscience. Some of our faculty

even helped design instrumentation for NASA’s Mars Rover! You too will have opportunities to contribute to discoveries that will aid humankind, our planet, and beyond!

Admission Plan admission.uoguelph.ca

Offers will be released on an ongoing basis from late-January to mid-May. Exception: offers to the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program will be made from late-April to mid-May.

Applicants presenting an admission average of 75% and higher will be considered for admission to all programs to which they’ve applied. Cut-offs are determined by the quantity and quality of applications received and the space available in the program. Presenting an admission average within the estimated range does not guarantee an offer of admission. Co-op averages often exceed the estimated cut-off ranges. Students not admissible to co-op will be automatically considered for the regular program.

CALCULATING YOUR ADMISSION AVERAGE

We use your top six completed 4U/M (or equivalent) courses, including required courses, to calculate your admission average. Where not available, we use a combination of the top six completed or in-progress 4U/M and completed 3U/M courses, including required subjects. If no 4U/M courses are in-progress or completed, we will use your top six 3U/M courses to calculate your admission average.
