First-year Canadian citizens and permanent residents applying from outside of Canada are guaranteed residence for their first year of studies.

IN-COURSE SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES

In-course scholarships are designed to reward academic excellence and outstanding achievements of current students. Bursaries are intended to assist in unexpected financial situations or emergencies.

In 2023, U of G awarded more than $6.9 million in upper-year scholarships.

Awarded to a top international student who is entering with academic excellence and who has made significant contributions to their school and community. Apply by January 27, 2025.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP

Admitted international feepaying students transferring to an undergraduate degree program are guaranteed a onetime $10,000 scholarship. No scholarship application is required.

STUDY PERMITS AND IMMIGRATION

International students may need a study permit and provincial attestation letter to study at the University of Guelph. This process is completed after accepting your offer of admission. Refer to canada.gc.ca and uoguel.ph/pal for more information.

Proof of English proficiency is required if your primary or first language is not English and you have had less than 4 years of full-time secondary or post-secondary school study, demonstrating satisfactory academic progress in an English-language school system.

IB Diploma with 6 subjects: 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level, with a minimum of 28 (including TOK/EE).

British / GCE 5 subjects including 2 A Levels or 4 AS Levels and 3 O Levels with minimum grade of “B” or 6 in each course.

Indian Verified Class 10 results and predicted Class 12 results with a minimum average of 75%.

American Minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
