WHAT WILL I STUDY? / Technology 1 Gain the necessary knowledge and skills to describe, explain, evaluate, compare and apply building construction techniques and materials used in typical low-rise, domestic type buildings, with a focus on contemporary construction techniques. / Introduction to Law and Regulatory Framework Develop your understanding of English Law and relevant statutory requirements for studying vocational qualifications in construction and property. / Quantity Surveying Private and Commercial Practice 1 Examine the role of the quantity surveyor in the contemporary construction industry as you learn to quantify basic domestic building construction work. / Quantity Surveying Discipline Project 1 Investigate case studies in order to develop an awareness of the key quantity surveying skills used in real world problem based scenarios. / Economics and Management Explore the basic economic concepts and principles of the economic environment in which the construction and property sectors operate. / Environmental Science and Services Acquire an understanding of the interactions between a building and its internal and external environments.
