WELCOME WEEK

This welcome guide will give you a taste of the amazing activities and clubs you can get involved with during Welcome Week. Expect music, performances, stalls, food, sports activities, social events, freebies and much more. You’ll find staff in blue hoodies across campus each day to answer any questions you have.

All of the events are also listed on our Welcome website with more being added all the time, visit salford.ac.uk/welcome Every day there are tours and trips to help you find your way around the campus, Salford and Manchester: / Campus tours / Library tours / IT and study essentials / Salford shopping tours / MediaCityUK tours

These tours are led by our student hosts and are a great way to find out where everything is. Visit salford.ac.uk/welcome for times and locations.

Our Students’ Union (USSU) Welcome website salfordstudents.com/welcome is where you can buy tickets and find out more about USSU and their events, but don’t worry, most events are drop-in so don’t need to be booked.

Our friendly Student Hosts lead a trip to Salford Quays and our MediaCityUK campus. You can visit the Lowry Theatre and Gallery, grab a bargain in the Lowry Outlet Mall and soak up the MCUK atmosphere.

Sample one of the most popular activities within our fitness class programme. Pilates is a low impact form of activity, with a focus around flexibility, muscular endurance, and core strength and stability. The class is completely FREE, and we have ten spaces which are bookable via the Welcome website www.salford.ac.uk/welcome

Atmosphere hosts the most outrageous LGBTQ+ event in Salford SU’s history, as one of Manchester’s biggest Drag Queens ‘Gisele’ joins us for our Drag Bingo Night. We’ve got live DJs and scandalous prizes. (£3 entry).
