Our residences might look like halls but we offer so much more.

We understand that student accommodation is not just about the room - it’s about all the other stuff too.

Where do you go when you need those all-important study groups? What about that film night you’ve been meaning to plan for ages or just those evenings when you want to chill with your friends? We try to cater for everyone.

Within all our halls are the Halls’ Student Experience Team, a team of Residential Advisors and Hall Student Committees that all play a part in maintaining and enhancing your experience in your halls.

Its’ their role to arrange social activities to help you get to know those living in your hall. It is often those initial friendships you make that stay with you throughout your time at university, and long after you've left.

These talks held in the Herculaneum Room it gives you all the hints and tips needed to have a happy and fun year in your accommodation.

Make sure you find out when your talk is on arrival.

Monday 19th & Tuesday 20th September Welcome Fair & VC Talks The Mountford Hall 10am till 4pm (Mon 19th & Tues 20th)

Head over to the Welcome talk, where Vice-chancellor Janet Beer will welcome all our new students.

This is also your chance to meet up with all our support services as well as sign up with a doctor and find out more about your Guild.

Cheerleading Open Session

Herculaneum Room 2pm Come along to for an insight into all the Liverpool Foxes Cheer & Dance Squad have to offer. Whether you have done cheerleading or dance before or are completely new to the sport, qualified coaches will show you what it is like to be a part of the cheerleading, hip hop, jazz & pom squads.

Their commitee will also be on hand at the end of the practical session to answer any questions you may have about being a Fox.

Local area bike tour - 11:30am outside Carnatic Reception If you're new to Liverpool and staying in the Carnatic then you may think you're far from the city centre and all its wonder! Good news!

You're actually in one of the most exclusive areas of Liverpool and just a short distance away from the city centre!

On this tour you will discover how close everything is to you, including shops, bars, restaurants, buses and train stations. We will also show you how to quickly and cheaply hire a bicycle so that you can navigate your way around the city whilst looking after the environment too.

EACH HALL HAS ITS OWN HSC AND THIS IS OPEN TO ALL RESIDENTS FROM THAT HALL IF THEY WISH TO JOIN AS A GENERAL MEMBER.

YOUR HALLS STUDENT COMMITTEE (HSC)

Each Hall has a Hall Student Committee (HSC) made up of elected students from the Hall.

Elections take place at the start of the academic year.

The HSC represents the students of the Hall, acting as their voice to Halls Management.

They also organise social activities and events for the Hall using a pot of money made up of contributions from each resident’s rent.

The events and activities they organise range from smaller events like film nights, to large scale events like the Christmas and Summer Balls, to trips for the Hall. They also buy items for the Hall such as games consoles and sports equipment

Halls Sunday Comedy Roast The Stanley Theatre - Guild 4pm till 6pm Everyone loves a good Sunday roast especially after a manic welcome week packed full of events and parties and nothing beats a weary head than coming along to our Halls Comedy Roast.

Diners are seated Hogwarts style in the theatre at long trestle tables whilst good wholesome homemade roasts are dispatched from the kitchen accompanied by the necessary cutlery for diners to divvy up according to size of appetite and/or love of yorkies, roasties and the trimmings.
