The first step is to schedule an Initial Consultation (IC) by contacting the CAPS office at 703-993-2380. Support staff will ask for your name, contact information, and a few other pieces of information. Virtual and in-person appointments are available to Mason Square students.
Options for support may include:
Referrals to off-campus treatment in which case your clinician will help you find appropriate, affordable, and accessible treatment provider(s). Consultation with a different office on campus such as Student Support and Advocacy, Disability Services, and Student Health Services.
Participation in services offered through CAPS including virtual workshops, online self-help, group therapy, timelimited individual therapy, time-limited psychiatry, and learning services.
*Please note: you must be located in Virginia at the time of the IC phone call. After completing an Initial Consultation, the clinician you speak with will discuss next steps.

Student Health Services (SHS) provides accessible and affordable health care to all currently enrolled Mason students, in a caring and confidential environment. SHS offers a wide variety of services to keep our community healthy. From diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury, to immunizations and prescriptions, to nutrition counseling and physical exams, SHS is here for Mason students. There is no charge to be seen by one of our healthcare providers. There are fees for lab tests, immunizations, medications, supplies, physical exams, procedures, and some office visits.
