Firstly let us recite al-Fatihah on the demise of Almarhumah Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Zanariah binti Almarhum Tengku Ahmad who recently left us on 17 March.

TRIBUTE TO THE THIRD CHANCELLOR OF UTM

As the third Chancellor of UTM, Almarhumah had done a lot of good deeds and contributed tremendously to UTM. In memory of the late Johor Sultanah who was also the former Chancellor of UTM, I hope a book will be published to commemorate her life.

AIR AND WATER POLLUTION IN PASIR GUDANG

Ladies and gentlemen, As we all aware, the state of Johor recently experienced a most unfortunate incident resulting from the irresponsible action of individuals who have polluted the Kim Kim River in Pasir Gudang.

AIR AND WATER POLLUTION IN PASIR GUDANG

As a consequence, a huge community of Pasir Gudang was badly affected including school children and the general public.

The air and water pollution in Pasir Gudang is a serious issue that needs to be addressed and resolved immediately. In fact I was informed that other rivers in this state are facing the same fate. www.utm.my

PRESERVE THE CLEANLINESS OF OUR RIVERS

His Majesty Tuanku Sultan of Johor and I are concerned of the welfare and well being of the people of Johor. As such, it is my hope that we can preserve the cleanliness of our rivers which are the source of water for drinking and everyday use apart from becoming the habitat for plants and animals. www.utm.my

ROLE OF UTM IN PRESERVING THE CLEANLINESS OF JOHOR RIVERS

I also hope that the expertise that we have in UTM can assist in conducting more detailed studies to preserve the cleanliness of polluted rivers in Johor. "Togetherness is a Blessing” and “Love our Environment”.

UTM LIBRARY ORGANIZES THE READING CAMPAIGN

Ladies and Gentlemen, In conjunction with the recognition of Kuala Lumpur as the City of World Books 2020 by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), I welcome the effort by the UTM Library in successfully organising the reading campaign through the Bicara Karya Programme and Reading Carnival. www.utm.my
